Task-Oriented Semantic Feature Transmission for Multi-Task Satellite Remote Sensing over Low-SNR Channels

Conventional satellite remote sensing transmission follows a reconstruct-then-infer paradigm that optimizes pixel-level fidelity, creating an objective mismatch with downstream tasks such as classification and detection, especially at low SNR. This paper investigates a task-oriented framework that bypasses image reconstruction and directly transmits semantic features extracted by a multitask-pretrained backbone. A lightweight channel adaptation module (CAM) compresses feature dimensionality for bandwidth reduction, and a feature restorer recovers task-relevant structure after channel corruption. With the backbone frozen, the CAM and task-specific downstream heads are jointly optimized with task and feature-level supervision under random-SNR training. Under the adopted AWGN setting, experiments on scene classification and object detection show consistent gains over reconstruction-oriented JSCC baselines across different SNR conditions, with the largest improvements in the low-SNR regime.

SparseTalk - Sparsifying 3D Gaussian Language Fields for Efficient 3D Visual Question Answering

3D Gaussian language fields provide an explicit, spatially grounded representation for 3D visual question answering (VQA), but their dense semantic features can require tens of thousands of embeddings per scene, resulting in substantial storage, memory, and inference costs. We investigate how much of this representation is actually necessary for downstream reasoning. Starting from a full embedding representation, we systematically sparsify its semantic embeddings, including the previously underexplored regime below a single image-equivalent block down to 8 visual tokens. We compare random, geometric, semantic, and joint spatial-semantic selection strategies and introduce an object-based sparsification method that distributes the token budget across detected object instances while retaining background context. Experiments on ScanQA and MV-ScanQA reveal substantial redundancy in dense Gaussian language fields. Strong VQA performance is retained with only a few hundred semantic embeddings, corresponding to less than 1% of the original representation. Object-based selection performs well relative to others, with only modest observed changes down to 256 tokens. At this budget, SparseTalk retains 0.80% of SplatTalk's 32,076-token inference input and 0.332% of the mean 77,207-Gaussian dense field, increasing inference throughput while reducing decoded-feature memory 125-fold.

LangStreet: Persistent Language Fields for Anchor-Decoded Street Gaussians

Language Gaussian fields implicitly assume that the primitive carrying semantics remains identifiable across views. This assumption breaks in scalable anchor-decoded representations, where persistent anchors generate view-conditioned child Gaussians whose geometry and appearance vary with the camera. We introduce Ours, a persistent language field for such structured Gaussian scenes. Our key idea is semantic ownership: transient children route observations, while persistent decoder slots and their parent anchors own the language field. We use alpha-compositing responsibilities to accumulate additive directional evidence at slots; these statistics marginalize exactly to anchors. We then complete weakly supported slots with anchor-aligned evidence while preserving the anchor direction, and represent slot detail through low-rank residuals in anchor-relative semantic coordinates. Our primary model, Ours (base), stores anchor features together with compact slot residuals. Ours (light) retains only anchor features, whereas Ours (max) stores the full-dimensional completed slot features explicitly. Without scene-specific semantic optimization, Ours (base) nearly matches Ours (max) across KITTI, Virtual KITTI, and Waymo. On KITTI, it achieves 34.19 2D mIoU with a 2.72 GiB effective feature footprint, compared with 34.20 mIoU and 12.90 GiB for Ours (max). The same accuracy-storage trend holds on Virtual KITTI and Waymo. These results show that language fields on view-conditioned splats require persistent semantic ownership, conserved evidence, and a hierarchy that balances stability, detail, and representation cost. Our code, checkpoints, and benchmark suite will be publicly available.

FedGenSC: Federated Generative Semantic Communication with Channel-Aware Adaptation

Integrating generative adversarial networks (GANs) into federated semantic communication (SemCom) is a natural progression, as generative priors can recover semantic fidelity under channel distortion that discriminative decoders cannot. However, naive GAN federation introduces three failure modes that prior work has, to the best of our knowledge, neither identified nor resolved: discriminator aggregation instability under non-independent and identically distributed (non-IID) data, semantic drift caused by divergent local embedding spaces, and channel-agnostic generation that cannot adapt to heterogeneous link conditions. We propose federated generative semantic communication (FedGenSC), which mitigates all three by employing a global generator with local-only discriminators, providing cross-client semantic information through a semantic prototype bank, and conditioning generation on the instantaneous signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Experiments on the Europarl dataset over Rayleigh fading channels (K=10 clients, Dirichlet α=0.5) show that FedGenSC under non-IID data outperforms the FedDeepSC baseline across the tested SNR range, achieving up to a 58.2% relative improvement in bilingual evaluation understudy (BLEU)-1 at 18 dB. Ablation studies confirm the independent contribution of each component.

Hierarchical Compositionality for An Assistive AI Agent

AI agents are increasingly being developed to assist humans in various applications, and Large Language Models and other deep network architectures are considered to be state of the art for such agents. These methods are impressive stochastic predictors, but they are resource-hungry, opaque, and known to make arbitrary decisions in novel situations due to the narrow set of underlying representation and processing choices. Our work seeks to explore the design of architectures for such AI agents based on core principles that can be traced back to the early pioneers of AI but are not fully utilized in modern AI methods. We do so in this paper in the context of the core problem of AI agents addressing ambiguity in the objects being referred to by the human participants. Humans address such ambiguity by heuristically leveraging compositional knowledge of domain context and the preferences of the other human participants. Drawing inspiration from this observation, we describe an architecture that embeds the principle of hierarchical compositionality and uses simple heuristics to achieve the desired disambiguation. Specifically, domain objects are represented in terms of primitive attributes drawn from human-validated semantic feature norms, and a hierarchical combination of attributes and concepts automatically identified from a limited observed history of interactions of an assistive agent with specific users. The assistive agent then achieves the desired disambiguation by reasoning with knowledge of this compositional hierarchy; axioms governing domain dynamics; and models of semantic compatibility, session salience, and user-specific thematic preference, requesting human clarification when necessary. Experiments show that our approach consistently outperforms state of the art data-driven baselines, supporting adaptation to specific user profiles.

PE-Mamba: Bidirectional Selective Layer Aggregation for AI-Generated Image Detection

AI-generated image (AIGI) detection has become increasingly challenging due to the rapid advancement of generative models and the diminishing gap between synthetic and authentic content. Existing vision transformer-based detectors commonly rely on weighted-sum strategies to aggregate intermediate representations across transformer layers, often overlooking the inherently ordered semantic progression of hierarchical features from shallow texture cues to deep semantic representations. In this work, we propose \textbf{PE-Mamba}, a novel framework built upon a pre-trained PE-Core vision transformer with lightweight LoRA adaptation that introduces three complementary components for cross-layer feature aggregation and fusion. First, a bidirectional selective aggregator (BSA) processes layer-wise classification tokens through forward and backward selective scans, where the forward scan progressively accumulates shallow-to-deep forensic evidence, and the backward scan performs deep-to-shallow contextual refinement to reinterpret low-level cues in light of high-level semantic context. Second, a softmax-weighted aggregator (SWA) computes a learned global summary of all layer tokens as a complementary aggregation path. Third, a sigmoid-gated blend (SGA) adaptively fuses the BSA and SWA outputs via a learnable scalar gate, allowing the model to dynamically balance directional sequential evidence and global layer-wise aggregation. Extensive experiments on UniversalFakeDetect (96.6% mACC, 99.5% mAP) and AIGCDetect (95.3% mACC, 98.1% mAP) demonstrate that \methodname{} outperforms 18 detectors with superior generalization across diverse generative models, while training only 1.3% of total parameters (0.13% for LoRA alone).

DSCH-Loss: A Dynamic Semantic Channel Objective for Deep Semantic Hashing

Semantic hashing methods for generating short binary hash codes that allow efficient approximate nearest neighbor search in high-dimensional data spaces have gained extensive consideration in recent years. Deep learning-based methods offer better semantic capturing capabilities than traditional approaches relying on manual feature engineering. Moreover, they enable a data-driven approach to semantic hashing across diverse data modalities, yielding high-quality cross-modal hash codes within a shared Hamming space. Previous work investigated the properties of this Hamming space and introduced a loss function based on predefined so-called semantic channels with fixed width and Hamming distances derived from label similarities. However, this formulation also introduced discontinuities into the loss landscape, complicating optimization. Based on these observations, we propose a newly designed loss function, Dynamic Semantic Channel Hashing (DSCH), using dynamically sized and positioned semantic channels in order to avoid loss landscape discontinuities. Furthermore, we endorse the use of tie-aware Mean Average Precision (mAP) as evaluation metric as it addresses the ambiguity in sample retrieval ordering, which emerges from the discreteness of hash code distances. Finally, multiple experimental settings conducted on two popular datasets and incorporating two different model architectures provide strong evidence that training using the DSCH objective outperforms training using other state-of-the-art loss functions. In a total of 35 out of 40 cross-modal and intra-modal retrieval tasks, models trained with DSCH achieve significantly higher tie-aware mAP scores across all four tested hash code lengths, showing compelling results across model architecture and used dataset. The mAP score uplifts are consistent and amount up to 1.75 percentage points compared to the respective second best.

Hybrid Semantic and Spectral Ensemble for Robust Synthetic Image Source Attribution

The rapid advancement of text-to-image (T2I) models has necessitated robust Synthetic Image Source Attribution (SIA) methodologies. A critical challenge in SIA is the distribution shift between pristine training images and real-world deployed images, which undergo unknown post-processing operations such as JPEG compression and blurring. In this work, proposed for the DLMMDD Challenge at ICANN 2026, we introduce a dual-branch ensemble framework fusing Semantic Deep Learning with Mathematical Forensic Feature Extraction. The semantic branch employs EfficientNet-B0 regularized with Exponential Moving Averaging (EMA) and Label Smoothing. The forensic branch extracts 126 mathematical features -- including SVD spectral profiles and Local Binary Patterns -- from high-pass noise residuals, compressed via Truncated SVD and classified with XGBoost. Evaluated on a dataset of 10 generators where 55% of the test set is degraded, our approach achieves a private leaderboard accuracy of 95.60%. Furthermore, the entire pipeline is highly computationally efficient, requiring no GPU acceleration and executing end-to-end on a standard CPU in under 6.5 hours, highlighting the practicality and scalability of mathematical forensics for real-world deployment.

ColorFM: An Optimization-to-Learning Framework for Color Transfer via Flow Matching

Color transfer aims to align the color distribution of a source image with that of a reference image while preserving structural and semantic consistency. However, existing methods often suffer from inaccurate global mapping, semantic misalignment, and visual artifacts. To address these issues, we propose ColorFM, an optimization-to-learning framework. ColorFM connects online optimization to offline inference by reformulating color transfer as the transport of pixel distributions along velocity fields via Flow Matching. Specifically, we introduce ColorFM-O, an instance-specific optimization scheme that fits the velocity field through hierarchical color coupling guided by semantic priors. By numerically integrating the induced flow trajectories, ColorFM-O produces precise and semantically consistent color transfer results, while generating high-quality paired data as pseudo-supervision. Building upon this, we design ColorFM-L, an efficient feed-forward model trained on the generated pairs. Through implicit state modeling, ColorFM-L extracts deep semantic features to predict flow parameters for bidirectional linearized transport, ensuring accurate color transfer. Extensive experiments demonstrate that ColorFM-L outperforms state-of-the-art methods in visual quality, structural fidelity, and semantic consistency, successfully combining the accuracy of optimization with the speed of feed-forward inference.

LeVLJEPA: End-to-End Vision-Language Pretraining Without Negatives

Vision-language pretraining remains dominated by contrastive objectives, whereas vision-only self-supervised learning has largely adopted non-contrastive methods. At the same time, the role of vision-language encoders has shifted: they are increasingly deployed not as zero-shot classifiers but as the frozen visual backbone of vision-language models and dense prediction systems, which consume the full grid of patch tokens rather than a single pooled embedding. We introduce LeVLJEPA, the first fully non-contrastive end-to-end vision-language pretraining method. LeVLJEPA learns through cross-modal prediction with stop-gradient targets and per-modality distributional regularization, without negatives, temperature, momentum encoder, or teacher-student schedule, and trains stably at large scale. We find that the resulting encoder provides markedly stronger dense semantic features for downstream use: as a frozen vision-language-model backbone, LeVLJEPA is the strongest of the evaluated encoders across GQA, VQAv2, and POPE under two distinct language models, and outperforms contrastive baselines on semantic segmentation, while remaining on par on global readouts such as linear probing. These results establish non-contrastive pretraining as an effective means of producing dense semantic vision features.

MindFlow: Harmonizing Cognitive Semantics and Acoustic Dynamics for Facial Animation Generation in Dyadic Conversations

Generating lifelike facial animation for dyadic conversations requires reconciling high-level cognitive intent with precise low-level motor reflexes, yet existing methods fall short in the semantic understanding of dialogue context and in precise dynamic control. In this paper, we propose MindFlow, a dual-pathway generative framework inspired by the Ventral-Dorsal pathway model in neuroscience, which decouples generation into two collaborative streams, thereby harmonizing deep semantic reasoning with fine-grained control. In the Ventral module, we transform the conventional Sentence-Action approach into a novel Chunk-State approach that models raw acoustic streams as a context-aware, evolving emotional state chain, capturing subtle paralinguistic nuances and mid-utterance emotional shifts missed by sentence-level modeling. The Dorsal module features a conditional autoregressive flow matching network for high-fidelity facial motion, driven by high-frequency acoustic cues and modulated by emotion states, plus a Selective Acoustic Injector for adaptive audio gating to ensure robustness in talking-and-listening dynamics without interference. Extensive experiments demonstrate that MindFlow achieves superior semantic appropriateness and motion naturalness compared to state-of-the-art baselines.

Two-Stage Cross-Domain Cervical Abnormality Screening with Cytopathological Image Synthesis and Knowledge Distillation

Cross-domain diagnosis remains a major challenge in cervical cell pathology due to pronounced domain shifts across institutions and the subtle visual differences among disease stages, which jointly impair model generalization. To address these issues, this paper proposes a two-stage framework for cross-domain cervical cell detection. In the first stage, we propose the Spatially-Continuous Unpaired Neural Schrödinger Bridge (SC-UNSB), which constructs a synthetic intermediate domain to mitigate cross-domain distribution shifts by modeling image translation as an entropy-regularized optimal transport process. In the second stage, we propose a dual-level feature alignment strategy within a knowledge distillation, which progressively aligns shallow structural features and deep semantic representations to facilitate the transfer of domain-invariant knowledge from the source to the target model. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method effectively mitigates domain shift and category ambiguity, improving the cross-domain detection performance.

Hierarchical Spatial and Channel Aggregation for Cross-domain Few-shot Segmentation

Cross-domain Few-shot Segmentation (CD-FSS) aims to learn generalizable segmentation capability from abundant annotated samples in the source domain, enabling accurate segmentation of novel classes in the target domain with only a few annotated samples. Existing CD-FSS methods mainly focus on mitigating feature distribution shifts caused by style gaps while ignoring significant differences in class semantic granularity and discriminative attributes across domains, leading to two key degradations in support-query matching: semantic over-alignment and attribute over-alignment. To this end, we propose the Dual Hierarchical Aggregation Network (DHANet), which comprises three key modules. First, the Hierarchical Spatial Aggregation (HSA) module performs multi-scale region aggregation of pixel features along the spatial dimension, generating hierarchical semantic-enhanced features to alleviate semantic over-alignment. Additionally, the HCA module conducts multi-scale attribute aggregation along the channel dimension, generating hierarchical attribute-enhanced features to mitigate attribute over-alignment. Finally, we propose the Online Probabilistic Semantic Bank (OPSB), which progressively constructs and updates class probability distributions from query predictions during inference, and samples multiple pseudo-prototypes as additional support information to mitigate insufficient support. Extensive experiments on four target-domain datasets demonstrate that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance.

Multimodal Sexism Identification and Characterization using Large Language Models and Gradient Boosting

We present the AILS-NTUA submission to the EXIST 2026 Lab at CLEF, addressing multimodal sexism identification and characterization in memes (Task 2) and short-form videos (Task 3). Our system follows a feature-engineered late-fusion pipeline built around gradient-boosted regression models and hierarchical post-processing. For memes, we combine visual, textual, demographic, biometric, and LLM-derived semantic indicators designed to capture high-level cues such as stereotyping, objectification, irony, and misogyny. For videos, we investigate the effect of feature selection, frame-based visual representations, OCR-based textual features, acoustic descriptors, and sensor-derived metadata. Development results show that focused LLM-derived semantic cues improve meme sexism identification, while video performance is highly sensitive to feature dimensionality and cross-modal noise. For videos, development results favor compact feature selection, but official test results show that this conclusion does not fully transfer to unseen data, where the unfiltered representation generalizes better. Overall, our findings highlight the usefulness of targeted semantic feature engineering for static memes and the need for more robust temporal modeling in noisy short-form video settings.

Divide and Conquer: Reliable Multi-View Evidential Learning for Deepfake Detection

With the evolution of generative models, deepfakes have achieved near-perfect semantic realism, leaving forensic traces only in subtle structural anomalies. However, existing single-view paradigms often fail to generalize, as dominant semantic features overwhelm subtle artifact cues within entangled representations. This imbalance leads to overconfident yet brittle predictions -- a phenomenon we term the Semantic Masking Effect. To address this challenge, we propose a reliable framework called Divide-and-Conquer Multi-View Evidential Learning (DiCoME) for Deepfake Detection. In the "Divide" phase, we employ Geometric View Purification to decompose the entangled representation space through principled geometric projection. This process suppresses semantic interference within artifact-sensitive representations, forming the foundation for decorrelated yet complementary semantic and artifact views. In the "Conquer" phase, we leverage Uncertainty-Aware Evidential Learning to synthesize these distinct views. By explicitly modeling the "epistemic conflict" between semantic and artifact cues, this mechanism provides calibrated uncertainty estimates instead of forcing rigid deterministic decisions. Extensive experiments across multiple benchmarks demonstrate that our method consistently outperforms existing approaches in generalization performance, while providing reliable uncertainty estimation for trustworthy deepfake detection. Let Relations Speak: An End-to-End LLM-GNN Soft Prompt Framework for Fraud Detection

In recent years, Large Language Models (LLMs) have shown great capability in processing graph tasks such as fraud detection. However, most existing methods rely heavily on rich text attributes, which poses difficulties for this domain due to the lack of textual data. Although some pioneering methods attempt to overcome it, their textualization of graph structures via hard prompts easily leads to feature distortion. Additionally, fraud detection often exhibits multi-relational complexity, where current methods struggle to capture this deep semantic information. To address these challenges, we propose LLM-GNN Soft Prompt Framework (LGSPF). Specifically, LGSPF bridges the graph structure and semantic space using soft prompt to eliminate reliance on text. We further introduce a parallel Graph Neural Network (GNN) encoder to translate multi-relational topologies into graph tokens for fine-grained LLM fraud comprehension. Through end-to-end optimization, LGSPF enhances deep semantic alignment between LLM and GNN. Experiments across diverse fraud detection benchmarks demonstrate our method achieves state-of-the-art performance. Moreover, we further validate the contribution of LGSPF on enhancing the semantic interpretability of fraud behaviors.

GlowGS: Generative Semantic Feature Learning for 3D Gaussian Splatting in Nighttime Glow Scenes

Existing 3DGS methods effectively render high-quality novel views in clear-day scenes. However, they struggle with night scenes, particularly in glow regions, due to the lack of structural features such as textures and edges, which are key cues for splatting-based reconstruction. To address this problem, we leverage a diffusion model and a Vision Foundation Model (VFM) to compensate for missing structural cues. Our method consists of two key novel ideas: semantic feature generation and novel-view semantic learning. First, semantic feature generation produces high-quality semantic features as implicit structural cues for novel views. Specifically, a diffusion model synthesizes novel views with unknown camera poses from training views, while a VFM evaluates their quality. Once high-quality novel views are identified, the VFM extracts robust features to construct the semantic feature bank. Second, novel-view semantic learning enables 3DGS to optimize rendered novel views without requiring ground truth. It achieves this by extracting semantic features from a rendered novel view, searching the feature bank for the most similar features, and minimizing their distance. This process enforces implicit structural constraints, ensuring semantically coherent, artifact-free rendered views. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our GlowGS in generating semantically accurate 3D views, showing significant improvements over existing methods.

Interactive State Space Model with Cross-Modal Local Scanning for Depth Super-Resolution

Guided depth super-resolution (GDSR) reconstructs HR depth maps from LR inputs with HR RGB guidance. Existing methods either model each modality independently or rely on computationally expensive attention mechanisms with quadratic complexity, hindering the establishment of efficient and semantically interactive joint representations. In this paper, we observe that feature maps from different modalities exhibit semantic-level correlations during feature extraction. This motivates us to develop a more flexible approach enabling dense, semantically-aware deep interactions between modalities. To this end, we propose a novel GDSR framework centered around the Interactive State Space Model. Specifically, we design a cross-modal local scanning mechanism that enables fine-grained semantic interactions between RGB and depth features. Leveraging the Mamba architecture, our framework achieves global modeling with linear complexity. Furthermore, a cross-modal matching transform module is introduced to enhance interactive modeling quality by utilizing representative features from both modalities. Extensive experiments demonstrate competitive performance against state-of-the-art methods.

HH-SAE: Discovering and Steering Hierarchical Knowledge of Complex Manifolds

Rare semantic innovations in high-dimensional, mission-critical domains are often obscured by dense background contexts, a challenge we define as \textit{feature density conflict}. We introduce the \textbf{Hybrid Hierarchical SAE (HH-SAE)} to resolve this by factorizing manifolds into a nested hierarchy of \textbf{Contextual} (L0L_0), \textbf{Atomic} (f1f_1), and \textbf{Compository} (f2f_2) tiers. Evaluating across disparate manifolds, HH-SAE demonstrates superior resolution by \textbf{``fracturing'' administrative clinical labels into physiological modes} and achieving a peak \textbf{cross-domain zero-shot AUC of 0.9156 in fraud detection}. Path ablation confirms the architecture's structural necessity, revealing a 13.46% utility collapse when contextual subtraction is removed. Finally, knowledge-steered synthesis achieves a +9.9% AUPRC lift over state-of-the-art generators, proving that HH-SAE effectively prioritizes high-order mechanistic innovation over environmental proxies to enable high-precision discovery in high-stakes environments.

MIPIC: Matryoshka Representation Learning via Self-Distilled Intra-Relational and Progressive Information Chaining

Representation learning is fundamental to NLP, but building embeddings that work well at different computational budgets is challenging. Matryoshka Representation Learning (MRL) offers a flexible inference paradigm through nested embeddings; however, learning such structures requires explicit coordination of how information is arranged across embedding dimensionality and model depth. In this work, we propose MIPIC (Matryoshka Representation Learning via Self-Distilled Intra-Relational Alignment and Progressive Information Chaining), a unified training framework designed to produce structurally coherent and semantically compact Matryoshka representations. MIPIC promotes cross-dimensional structural consistency through Self-Distilled Intra-Relational Alignment (SIA), which aligns token-level geometric and attention-driven relations between full and truncated representations using top-k CKA self-distillation. Complementarily, it enables depth-wise semantic consolidation via Progressive Information Chaining (PIC), a scaffolded alignment strategy that incrementally transfers mature task semantics from deeper layers into earlier layers. Extensive experiments on STS, NLI, and classification benchmarks (spanning models from TinyBERT to BGEM3, Qwen3) demonstrate that MIPIC yields Matryoshka representations that are highly competitive across all capacities, with significant performance advantages observed under extreme low-dimensional.

GaLa: Hypergraph-Guided Visual Language Models for Procedural Planning

Implicit spatial relations and deep semantic structures encoded in object attributes are crucial for procedural planning in embodied AI systems. However, existing approaches often over rely on the reasoning capabilities of vision language models (VLMs) themselves, while overlooking the rich structured semantic information that can be mined from multimodal inputs. As a result, models struggle to effectively understand functional spatial relationships in complex scenes. To fully exploit implicit spatial relations and deep semantic structures in multimodal data, we propose GaLa, a vision language framework for multimodal procedural planning. GaLa introduces a hypergraph-based representation, where object instances in the image are modeled as nodes, and region-level hyperedges are constructed by aggregating objects according to their attributes and functional semantics. This design explicitly captures implicit semantic relations among objects as well as the hierarchical organization of functional regions. Furthermore, we design a TriView HyperGraph Encoder that enforces semantic consistency across the node view, area view, and node area association view via contrastive learning, enabling hypergraph semantics to be more effectively injected into downstream VLM reasoning. Extensive experiments on the ActPlan1K and ALFRED benchmarks demonstrate that GaLa significantly outperforms existing methods in terms of execution success rate, LCS, and planning correctness.

Semantic Feature Analysis: Improving Agents Without Searching Over Rollouts

Ambiguity is an inherent property of natural-language agent specifications. When a system prompt leaves behaviour underdetermined, identical inputs follow divergent execution paths and produce inconsistent outcomes. The standard remedy is prompt optimisation: propose candidate prompts, run the agent to score them, and keep the best. This loop pays for the agent twice: once to generate candidates and again to rank them. On a tool-using agent whose rollouts cost dollars and minutes, the ranking cost dominates and budget-constrained optimisers routinely fail to find improvements. We present Semantic Feature Analysis (SFA), a pipeline that repairs agent specifications without running any search. SFA reads execution traces the agent has already produced, clusters the outputs of each workflow node, decomposes them into semantic feature classes using an extended subject-verb-object schema, ranks those features by their contribution to outcome separation using a decision tree, and injects the surviving features as corrective statements into the affected node's system prompt. Because it never ranks candidate prompts, it never spends a rollout on selection. We evaluate SFA against five prompt optimisers (GEPA, MIPROv2, SIMBA, BootstrapFewShot with random search, InferRules) and a single-reflection control, budget-matched in dollars at three budget levels across four benchmarks (IF-Bench, HotpotQA, HoVer, and GAIA). SFA consistently improves over the unmodified agent across benchmarks and budget levels, with the largest gains where rollouts are most expensive. On GAIA, where budget-constrained optimisers cannot afford to score even one candidate, SFA improves accuracy while other arms return their seed unchanged.

Multimodal rumor detection enhanced by external evidence and forgery features

Social media increasingly disseminates information through mixed image text posts, but rumors often exploit subtle inconsistencies and forged content, making detection based solely on post content difficult. Deep semantic mismatch rumors, which superficially align images and texts, pose particular challenges and threaten online public opinion. Existing multimodal rumor detection methods improve cross modal modeling but suffer from limited feature extraction, noisy alignment, and inflexible fusion strategies, while ignoring external factual evidence necessary for verifying complex rumors. To address these limitations, we propose a multimodal rumor detection model enhanced with external evidence and forgery features. The model uses a ResNet34 visual encoder, a BERT text encoder, and a forgery feature module extracting frequency domain traces and compression artifacts via Fourier transformation. While some existing approaches employ large scale generative vision language models for caption generation, their open ended generation tendency produces verbose and stylistically inconsistent descriptions that introduce semantic noise and risk drifting from actual image content. To overcome this, we adopt BLIP specifically pre trained for vision language alignment which generates concise, image faithful descriptions stylistically closer to news text, serving as a reliable semantic bridge across modalities. A BLIP Driven Semantic Alignment Module jointly optimizes text image and text description contrastive losses, capturing inconsistencies at both visual and semantic levels. A gated adaptive feature scaling fusion mechanism dynamically adjusts multimodal fusion and reduces redundancy. Experiments on Weibo and Twitter datasets demonstrate that our model outperforms mainstream baselines in,recall, and F1 score
