VolCo: Volumetric Contact for High-Fidelity Human Grasp Generation

Accurate contact modeling is fundamental to understanding hand-object interaction, yet existing contact representations are typically restricted to object surfaces and rely on hand-crafted rules to recover contact details, leading to severe penetrations and implausible results. To better exploit the rich detail in motion-capture data, we introduce Volumetric Contact (VolCo), a representation that expands surface points to a set of 3D volumetric grids. VolCo encodes 3D contact that allows precise hand part recovery, and is organized in an inherent hierarchy: local contact details within each volume and global hand geometry across all volumes. Our framework, VolCoDiff, employs two modules to capture local and global features following this hierarchy. For local contact details, we use a 3D variational autoencoder to model the possible hand configurations conditioned on the local object signed distance field (SDF). For global hand geometry, we design a prior-guided diffusion model that learns the distribution of compressed latent features aggregated from the volumetric grids. We evaluate our method on two benchmark datasets and demonstrate state-of-the-art performance in penetration and stability, indicating the capability to generate tight grasps with much less severe penetrations. Our code is available at https://github.com/chzh9311/volco.

Exo2EgoHOI: Hand-Object-Interaction Aware Exocentric-to-Egocentric Video Generation

Egocentric videos of human manipulation provide valuable visual experience for embodied intelligence, yet collecting such data at scale is costly. Exocentric-to-egocentric video generation offers a scalable alternative by transforming abundant third-person manipulation videos into first-person observations. However, existing methods often struggle to faithfully preserve demonstrated hand-object interactions (HOI) across large viewpoint changes due to insufficient fine-grained interaction guidance and weak object-centric anchoring. We present Exo2EgoHOI, an HOI-aware video generative framework for interaction-preserving exocentric-to-egocentric translation. To preserve fine-grained HOI, we introduce a unified 4D HOI prior that combines scene geometry, articulated hand renderings, and dense hand-object relation fields, together with a dual-branch residual adapter for injecting structural and relational cues into the video generation backbone. To preserve object consistency, we introduce Decomposed Gated Cross-Attention, which separately encodes object and background references and adaptively integrates global semantic and local appearance features as object-centric anchors. Experiments on ARCTIC-HOI and Ego-Exo4D demonstrate substantial improvements in object consistency and HOI preservation while maintaining competitive visual fidelity. In particular, on ARCTIC-HOI, Exo2EgoHOI improves object mIoU by 32.3% and reduces MPJPE and PA-MPJPE by 34.7% and 50.0%, respectively, relative to the respective best baseline results. PAMI: Part Anchored Motion for Text to Human-Object Interaction Generation

Text-conditioned full-body human-object interaction (HOI) generation requires synthesizing human motion and object trajectories that match the input text while remaining precisely coordinated over time. Most methods represent the human and object as separate trajectories and predict the global human-object couplings. Learning this complex, dynamically changing relationship implicitly, however, often yields object drift, missed contact, and penetration. We introduce PAMI, a Part-Anchored Motion framework for Interaction generation. Inspired by the classic Hough Transform, our key idea is to localize object motion by letting body-part anchors vote for it: we express object motion relative to multiple body-part anchors and use PamiVAE to learn an interaction latent space, decoding frame-wise weights that aggregate these part-specific votes. Building on this representation, PAMI generates interactions in a coarse-to-fine hierarchy. PamiGen first generates a coarse human-object interaction from text in this structured latent space, and PamiRefiner then recursively resolves fine-grained contact geometry using a hybrid surface-sensing representation, combining long-range probes that capture overall body-part influence with short-range sensors that resolve detailed contacts near the object surface. Experiments on InterAct show that PAMI generates more faithful interactions and more accurate human-relative object motion than previous methods, achieving 14.5% higher contact recall than the previous state of the art. Extensive ablations validate the contributions of both the part-anchored voting representation and hybrid surface-sensing refinement.

Counterfactual Video Generation Enables Scalable Humanoid Loco-Manipulation

Teaching humanoids loco-manipulation skills, such as carrying diverse objects, via visual imitation is a promising path toward generalist robots. However, collecting diverse, high-quality interaction videos, such as clips that clearly show a person's full body and unoccluded interactions with objects, poses a practical barrier to scaling this approach. We propose PRISM, a real-to-sim-to-real framework that overcomes this limitation by amplifying a handful of real videos into a large, diverse training set. PRISM first generates hundreds of diverse "counterfactual" human-object interaction videos via video-to-video (V2V) generation from a few exemplar real videos. Our contact-anchored real-to-sim pipeline then reconstructs both human and object motions, retargeting this imperfect video data into physically plausible trajectories. The intra-class variability across these counterfactual videos lets us train a single policy that generalizes to unseen objects within each category. We demonstrate the full pipeline by deploying this policy on a real robot without any real-world fine-tuning. Using only onboard depth observations, our humanoid picks up, carries, and drops objects, including boxes, barrels, bins, and balls, across novel instances, sizes, and initial configurations.

Harnessing Coupled Stream Completion For Human-Object Interaction Modeling

Text-conditioned human-object interaction (HOI) generation requires body motion, object trajectories & rotations, and hand articulation to remain coordinated. These components differ in scale and dynamics, but must agree on contact, relative pose, and timing. A shared representation may limit the distinct structure of each stream, while independent generation prevents each stream from responding to changes in the others. Latent supervision alone also does not directly constrain contact after decoding. We propose TRACE, a continuous latent framework that keeps stream states separate and couples their updates. TRACE encodes body, object, and hand motion into separate latents and predicts each stream velocity from the complete current interaction state. Geometric losses on decoded motion further constrain contact and object-relative motion over time. The same model supports completion of any single absent stream from the other two. Frozen flow features also serve as input to a language model for HOI understanding. Experiments on InterAct, OMOMO, and BEHAVE show that joint completion training improves generation and that frozen flow features improve understanding over raw-motion encoding. On InterAct, TRACE achieves the highest contact precision, recall, and F1 among the compared methods.

LYRIC: Language-Driven Physics-Based Character Control for Contact-Rich Whole-Body Object Interaction

We present LYRIC, a generative flow-matching controller for language-driven physics-based contact-rich interaction control, that enables simulated characters to perform contact-rich whole-body object interactions from a free-form language instruction and a sparse terminal object goal. To obtain reliable expert trajectories from imperfect motion-capture references, a single tracking policy is trained using geometry-conditioned interaction rewards and relaxed reference tracking near hand-object contact. To guide interaction progress without prescribing a full-body kinematic reference, we factorize the controller into a task-level planner that predicts short-horizon object and humanoid-root trajectories, and an action generator that resolves whole-body motion and contacts in closed loop. After behavior cloning, we freeze the planner and post-tune the action generator on policy using the planner's predictions as stable supervision for intermediate task progression. In a controlled OMOMO evaluation, our tracker achieves 64.3% success compared with 53.2% for an InterMimic reimplementation, while a unified policy achieves 76.5% on the full OMOMO dataset. On the held-out split, LYRIC achieves 90.3% task success, compared with 74.2% for the strongest matched kinematic-planner baseline, with better semantic alignment and motion quality. Without retraining, the controller also supports test-time object-waypoint guidance. Qualitative results further demonstrate robust, natural contact-rich interactions and zero-shot transfer to novel object shapes. The webpage is available at https://neu-vi.github.io/LYRIC/

InterMASH: A Unified Geometric Representation for Grasp Synthesis

Grasp synthesis aims to generate stable and physically plausible hand--object interactions, and has become a fundamental problem in both human hand modeling and robotic manipulation. However, a unified representation across human and robotic hands is still lacking, mainly due to differences in hand morphology and surface modeling. Prior methods typically rely on either contact maps or dense implicit descriptors to represent interaction, but these representations are often incomplete or computationally expensive and redundant. We propose InterMASH, a unified geometric representation that establishes cross-embodiment correspondence using sphere-fixed anchors. At each anchor, low-degree spherical harmonics compactly encode local hand geometry, object geometry, and contact, forming an explicit and interpretable token sequence. Building on this natively tokenized structure, we introduce a conditional Diffusion Transformer that operates directly in the proposed InterMASH representation space and jointly generates hand geometry and contact, improving consistency and physical plausibility. Our method achieves competitive performance with state-of-the-art methods on key physical feasibility metrics in a large-scale ShadowHand benchmark, supports joint training across multiple hands, and shows that cross-embodiment fine-tuning with human grasp data can improve robotic grasp success and diversity. Weave: Learning Whole-Body Dexterous Loco-Manipulation from Human-Object Interactions

Learning humanoid-object interaction requires coordinating whole-body balance, locomotion, and dexterous hand contact to control both robot and object motion. Human demonstrations provide examples of coordinated interaction, but transferring these behaviors to humanoid robots requires learning how to establish and maintain effective contacts under different embodiments and dynamics. We present Weave, a unified framework for learning whole-body dexterous humanoid-object interaction from captured human demonstrations. Weave first converts captured human-object interactions into executable robot-object references through contact-aware retargeting and approach-motion completion. At its core is a contact- and geometry-aware policy that jointly commands 29 body joints and 12 actuated finger joints across multiple objects and interaction sequences. Evaluation across nine objects yields a 92.5% success rate on trained interactions and, without any additional training, 65.0% on sequences never seen during training. We additionally release ~9,000 physically executed rollouts spanning ~23 hours, providing robot-object trajectories with contact annotations for downstream interaction-policy learning and physically consistent HOI motion generation. RGB-D Video Generation for Improving Human-to-Robot Object Handover Prediction

Human-to-robot (H2R) object handover is a fundamental capability for human-robot collaboration, yet progress is hindered by the scarcity of large-scale, human-centric datasets and the significant sim-to-real gap. To address these challenges, we introduce Hand2Bot, an RGB-D video dataset that provides rich contextual information such as body posture and facial expressions, specifically collected for handover scenarios with real-world noise patterns. We further propose PassGen, a generative pipeline that leverages stable video diffusion and an Intention-Aware Temporal Face Encoder to synthesize realistic handover sequences while ensuring hand-object consistency. To bridge the sim-to-real gap, we implement a morphology-based depth editing strategy that replicates realistic sensor noise found in physical depth maps. Experimental evaluations demonstrate that our framework achieves high intention identification accuracy and low false trigger rates in both ablation studies and real-world deployment on a physical robot platform. Our results confirm that training on PassGen allows for robust zero-shot transfer and earlier intention anticipation compared to traditional hand-centric baselines, effectively enabling socially aware robotic behavior in shared workspaces.

MAD-HOI: Masked Autoregressive Diffusion for Generating Articulated Hand Object Interactions from Text

Methods for text-based generation of hand-object interaction (HOI) sequences primarily focus on producing smooth, physically plausible trajectories. A truly utilitarian method should additionally support variable-length generation, composite motion sequences, motion completion and infilling, and reliable termination without compromising physical plausibility. Standard diffusion models for HOI generation are typically trained only for text-to-motion generation on atomic motions and require the motion length to be specified a-priori. Autoregressive (AR) methods provide greater sequence-level flexibility, but commonly depend on discrete motion codes, which can lose contact-sensitive motion detail. To address these key limitations, we present a model performing Masked Autoregression with Diffusion for HOI generation (MAD-HOI). Our method starts by encoding hand and object motions in a continuous latent space while keeping them disentangled to maintain stream-wise control. This is followed by a masked autoregressive transformer to predict context features that condition a flow-matching head. MAD-HOI is capable of motion generation for atomic and composite articulated sequences, conditioned motion completion and infilling, as well as EOM (End of Motion) prediction from a single training objective. We provide comprehensive evaluations for these capabilities and benchmark our method on the ARCTIC and GRAB datasets. Our experiments demonstrate that our method generates more diverse and physically plausible interactions compared to other open-sourced baseline methods.

Surface Keypoint Representation for Multi-Object and Articulated Human-Object Interaction Generation

Daily activities require humans to coordinate whole-body motion with the motion of surrounding objects. Despite recent progress in human-object interaction (HOI) generation, most existing methods assume interactions with a single rigid object and do not extend well to scenarios involving a variable number of objects or articulated objects with diverse joint mechanisms. We propose surface keypoint trajectories as an object motion representation: for each rigid component, whether a standalone object or one part of an articulated assembly, we track a small set of non-collinear surface points over time. This representation handles multi-object coordination and diverse articulation mechanisms directly from point dynamics without requiring explicit joint-type specification. To model when and where each body region contacts each object, we introduce a spatio-temporal contact distance field that extends distance-based contact modeling to whole-body, multi-object, and articulated settings. We factorize HOI generation into three stages: generating object motions from text or waypoints, predicting the contact distance field, and synthesizing whole-body motion with contact-guided optimization. Experiments on ParaHome, HIMO, ARCTIC, and OMOMO demonstrate better or comparable performance to existing methods across single-object, multi-object, and articulated interaction settings.

PhotoHOI: Synthesizing 3D Hand-Object Interactions from a Single RGB Photograph

Hand-object interaction (HOI) is a fundamental human behavior with broad applications in AR/VR, digital humans, and embodied interaction. Existing methods typically require predefined object geometry, object trajectories, or task-specific conditions, limiting their use with natural real-world inputs. To address this, we study a more practical problem of synthesizing 3D hand-object interaction sequences from a single RGB photograph and an open-vocabulary language instruction, and introduce PhotoHOI. PhotoHOI first uses a vision-language model to parse the input image and instruction into a structured task specification, including the interaction object, target region, and spatial relation. It then recovers a compact task-relevant 3D scene and plans a smooth collision-aware object trajectory based on the recovered object states, support relations, and surrounding scene geometry. To synthesize hand motion that generalizes to real-world photographs and unseen objects, it learns transferable task-conditioned contact and contact-conditioned grasp priors from large-scale affordance and HOI data. The grasp is further refined in a learned latent space, constraining the optimization to a plausible hand-pose manifold. Experiments on GRAB and H2O demonstrate improved contact quality and reduced penetration over representative baselines. Results on real-world photographs further demonstrate higher task success and scene consistency, together with generalization to unseen objects and open-vocabulary instructions.

Hand-Object Interaction in the Age of Large Foundation Models:Reconstruction, Generation, and Embodied Transfer

Hand-object interaction (HOI) modeling remains challenging because it requires joint reasoning about hand articulation, object geometry, contact, semantics, and dynamics under severe visual uncertainty. Foundation models introduce transferable prior knowledge learned from large-scale cross-domain data, offering new ways to address these challenges beyond task-specific data and models. However, the rapidly growing literature remains fragmented, and existing studies typically describe these methods simply as ``using large models'' without systematically characterizing what knowledge is introduced, where it enters the HOI pipeline, or which HOI uncertainty it helps reduce. This survey presents the first systematic review of foundation-model priors for HOI. We organize the literature into six HOI tasks spanning reconstruction and generation. More importantly, we establish a taxonomy of eight foundation-model sub-priors grouped into geometric, semantic, and visual families. Geometric priors encompass shape retrieval, shape reconstruction, and spatial reconstruction; semantic priors include semantic grounding and language reasoning; and visual priors cover visual representation, image generation, and video generation. Based on this taxonomy, we systematically analyze how different priors are represented, injected, and adapted across HOI pipelines and tasks. Beyond how foundation models empower HOI, we further examine how HOI-derived knowledge is used in robot learning, including human-data pretraining, human-to-robot skill transfer, and HOI-to-robot data generation. Finally, we summarize datasets and evaluation protocols, and discuss limitations and future directions toward more generalizable HOI systems. To support long-term progress, we curate a live repository that continuously aggregates emerging methods and benchmarks.

Real-Time Human-Centric World Modeling for Upper-Body Human-Object Interaction

We present a real-time human-centric world model for upper-body interactive generation, aiming to synthesize coherent local world dynamics centered on a person, where coordinated body, hand, and facial motions evolve jointly with controllable human-object discrete interaction. To this end, we adopt a continuous-discrete joint control scheme with two complementary components: a continuous human state and a discrete interaction state. For continuous human-state control, we introduce a unified implicit representation based on multi-scale motion encoding, in which motion latents from the upper body, hands, and face are fused into a shared latent space. This multi-scale design improves expressiveness across different spatial scales, captures fine-grained human dynamics more effectively, and enables direct control without explicit retargeting. For discrete object interaction-state control, we represent object contact using a small set of language-encoded discrete interaction states, where text serves as an explicit interaction-state command, such as \emph{no contact} or \emph{grasp}, rather than an open-ended generation prompt, and we further construct a dedicated rendering pipeline for human-object interaction data to supervise such discrete interaction states. By combining continuous implicit human-state control with discrete interaction-state control, our model enables precise modeling of how a person moves and interacts with the local environment, including controllable changes to nearby scene states. Finally, we distill the model for efficient streaming real-time inference, achieving 25 FPS on two H100 GPUs. Experiments demonstrate improved fine-grained motion fidelity, more realistic hand-object coordination, and effective real-time interaction, establishing a practical step beyond motion reproduction toward real-time human-centric world modeling.

AgentHOI: Multi-Agent Reasoning for Human-Object-Interaction Video Generation via Implicit Representation Alignment

Recent advances in video diffusion models have spurred interest in human-object interaction (HOI) video generation, which demands fine-grained control over interaction logic beyond single-subject animation. However, existing HOI methods rely heavily on explicit motion control, limiting scalability and generalization across diverse objects and interactions. In this study, we propose AgentHOI, a text-driven HOI video generation following a thinking-before-generation framework that bridges the gap between high-level textual intent and physical execution through multi-agent reasoning over perception, interaction, and motion planning. Building upon the generated interaction plans, we further strengthen text-driven motion understanding. We introduce an implicit text-motion alignment strategy that distills text-to-motion priors into the video diffusion model, enabling robust HOI synthesis without explicit motion inputs at inference. Experiments show that AgentHOI significantly improves interaction naturalness, object appearance preservation, and adherence to complex textual instructions across challenging object-centric scenarios such as wearing and riding. StreamHOI: Interaction-aware Temporal Memory Adaptation for Streaming HOI Video Generation

Existing human--object interaction (HOI) video generation methods are largely limited to offline short-video generation with complex driving conditions, making them unsuitable for real-time interactive applications. We present \emph{StreamHOI}, a low-latency streaming framework for long-duration HOI video generation. Instead of converting heavily conditioned HOI pipelines into streaming systems, we study how an image-to-video streaming generator should organize historical memory to preserve interactions under bounded latency. We find that the standard sink-local memory design faces a trade-off in streaming HOI generation, and different transformer blocks show different historical-memory preferences for HOI regions and surrounding regions. To match memory composition with block behavior, StreamHOI performs offline HOI-aware block profiling and applies bias-guided memory-specialized training to adapt the generator to block-specific memory layouts. We further introduce a memory distance scaling module to strengthen long-range access to early interaction states. Extensive comparisons with both long-video baselines and recent HOI generation methods demonstrate that StreamHOI achieves strong interaction plausibility, object fidelity, human quality and efficiency, reaching 17.6 FPS with 0.75s first-chunk latency.

GIRAF: Towards Generalizable Human Interactions with Articulated Objects

Synthesizing realistic full-body human interactions with articulated objects is a fundamental challenge for embodied AI and graphics, with applications in robotics training and virtual agents. Existing models remain limited: some focus on simple activities with static objects, while others restrict attention to hand-only manipulation. This leaves open the problem of generating coordinated full-body motion that approaches, manipulates, and moves articulated objects in a realistic and generalizable way. The key difficulty lies in reasoning jointly about locomotion, fine-grained contact, and object articulation. Models must capture subtle hand-object correspondences that transfer across object geometries, while also producing seamless transitions from navigation to manipulation. At the same time, the scarcity of large-scale paired motion-scene data makes it difficult to generalize across diverse object positions and shapes. We introduce a text-conditioned diffusion model that addresses these challenges through three core ideas: an object-centric representation that unifies hand-object contact with object surfaces, a mixed-domain training strategy that balances locomotion and interaction, and a contact-based augmentation scheme that expands training diversity. Through experiments, our method demonstrated strong generalization to unseen object configurations, surpassing current state-of-the-art methods.

SparseCtrl-HOI: Sparse Temporal Control for Human-Object Interaction Video Generation

Human-Object Interaction (HOI) video generation aims to synthesize realistic videos of humans manipulating diverse objects, serving as a promising avenue for AI-driven live streaming e-commerce. A primary obstacle in this domain lies in the complexity of modeling fine-grained physical dynamics and the intricate spatial-temporal coordination between human hands and objects. Existing approaches to this problem typically rely on dense temporal guidance, e.g., frame-wise hand-object pose sequences, to strictly control the interaction process. However, such dense guidance incurs high annotation costs and affects motion synthesis diversity. To overcome these limitations, we introduce SparseCtrl-HOI, a novel sparse temporal control framework for HOI video generation. It requires only a few keyframes that capture interaction states at designated timestamps. Specifically, we employ a Time-Controlled Rotary Positional Embedding (TiRoPE) mechanism to temporally anchor these keyframes while preserving their spatial integrity. Subsequently, to govern the dynamics across intermediate frames, we propose a Motion Prior Injection Module that leverages Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) to extract high-level motion priors. This empowers the model to hallucinate logically and physically plausible transitions. Furthermore, we build SparseHOI-5K, a high-quality and richly annotated dataset for HOI video generation with sparse temporal control. Comprehensive evaluations confirm that our method substantially reduces annotation overhead while synthesizing superior live-streaming e-commerce videos. Both our code and dataset are publicly available at https://mpi-lab.github.io/SparseCtrl-HOI.

JointHOI: Jointly Generating Contact Maps Enhances Hand Object Interaction Generation

Text driven hand object interaction (HOI) generation is gaining attention for immersive applications and robotics, yet producing physically plausible interactions remains challenging. Even when individual motions appear natural, small contact errors can cause conspicuous artifacts such as floating and interpenetration. Prior methods mitigate these issues using explicit contact cues or implicit grasp priors, but typically rely on multi stage pipelines and fail to model temporally evolving contact. We present JointHOI, a single stage diffusion framework that jointly generates 3D hand object motion and dynamic, distance based contact maps from text. By treating contact as an auxiliary inner modality, joint generation enables the model to learn contact motion coupling during training. At inference, contact guided sampling enforces consistency between generated contact maps and motion implied geometry, improving temporal stability and reducing penetration and floating. Experiments on GRAB and ARCTIC demonstrate consistent improvements in text adherence and physical plausibility over prior methods.

DCGrasp: Distance-aware Controllable Grasp Generation

Generating 3D hand-object interactions is essential for applications in robotics, XR, and synthetic data generation, where flexible controllability and strong generalization to diverse object geometries are required. However, existing methods rarely satisfy these requirements, limiting their practical applicability. We present DCGrasp, a distance-aware controllable grasp generation system built on a novel grasp energy term. This term computes Distance Profile, a signed distance from each hand vertex to the nearest object point, coupled with distance-aware weighting, effectively capturing the semantically similar hand-object interaction in near-contact regions while remaining invariant to object and hand identity. Given various controllable signals, DCGrasp first generates a Distance Profile based on a Diffusion Transformer, together with a corresponding candidate hand pose. We then refine the candidate pose through optimization, enforcing consistency between the optimized hand pose and the generated Distance Profile in near-contact regions. Our experiments show that DCGrasp produces high-quality, physically plausible grasps with flexible user control, generalizing to diverse object and hand shapes and scales. Our work establishes a robust and versatile pipeline for the synthesis of controllable 3D hand-object interactions.

IMAGIN-4D: Image-Guided Controllable Interaction Generation

Generating human-object interactions (HOI) is central to character animation, robotics, AR/VR, and embodied AI. Recent HOI generation methods synthesize motion from text, object geometry, and sparse waypoints, controlling action semantics and object trajectories. However, these signals underspecify interaction: the same prompt and trajectory can produce different grasps, approach directions, body poses, object poses, contacts, and body-object layouts. We address this ambiguity with a reference image as a visual specification of the desired interaction snapshot. However, a single global image representation conflates distinct cues and conditions all frames on identical visual evidence. We therefore introduce IMAGIN-4D, a diffusion-based HOI generator that decomposes image conditioning spatio-temporally. For spatial conditioning, IMAGIN-4D extracts supervised interaction-state tokens for body pose, object pose, body-object contact, and spatial relationships at the depicted frame. For temporal conditioning, it computes frame-aware tokens by querying image patches per generated frame, allowing sequence segments to attend to different visual cues from the same image. To balance image, text, and waypoint cues, IMAGIN-4D uses role-aware conditioning: text, waypoints, and interaction-state tokens use separate AdaLN streams, while frame-aware visual tokens cross-attend with motion tokens. Since HOI motion datasets lack paired images, we build a synthetic motion-to-image rendering pipeline from FullBodyManipulation (FBM) and introduce an image-adherence metric to evaluate whether generated motions match the reference snapshot. Experiments on FBM and BEHAVE show that IMAGIN-4D improves fine-grained interaction control over single-token and uniformly image-conditioned baselines while preserving waypoint-following and motion quality. Code and models will be released at https://imagin4d.github.io.

Policy-as-Data: Learning Generalizable HOI Diffusion Models from Simulated Physics

Synthesizing realistic Human-Object Interactions (HOI) is critical for creating embodied avatars and functional virtual environments. However, current data-driven approaches primarily rely on motion capture datasets, which are expensive to scale and limited in functional diversity. Models trained with these datasets fail to generalize to unseen objects and maintain physical consistency over long horizons. In this paper, we propose a novel framework that leverages a physics simulator to overcome the data-scarcity bottleneck in HOI generation. Specifically, we propose a scalable pipeline, called \ours, which leverages policies trained with reinforcement learning in a physics simulator for task-oriented data generation and trains a generative model on the augmented dataset for generalizable HOI generation. To seamlessly utilize the synthetic data, we introduce a coarse-to-fine retargeting process that bridges the representation gap between the simplified model used in physics simulator and the standard parametric body models required for generative training. Validated through comprehensive experiments, our method demonstrates enhanced generalization to unseen objects and the capability of long-horizon generation, while exhibiting greater dynamic diversity and physical plausibility.

Wh0: Generative World Models as Scalable Sources of Egocentric Human Hand Manipulation Data

Scaling dexterous manipulation requires generalization across objects, scenes, and tasks, yet existing data sources face a trade-off between scale and scene/embodiment alignment: teleoperation data is well aligned with robot deployment but expensive to collect; simulation is scalable but limited by the sim-to-real gap; and real egocentric videos scale effectively but remain misaligned with robot deployment. We propose Wh0, a framework that uses generative video world models as scalable and controllable sources of egocentric human-hand manipulation data to unlock the manipulation capabilities of pretrained dexterous VLA models. Conditioned on language, objects, and scenes, Wh0 uses a generative world model to produce WM-H, a 50k-episode dataset of egocentric human-object interaction videos. Wh0 then converts the generated videos into robot-trainable supervision through hand motion reconstruction and visual editing. Co-trained with a limited amount of real robot data, WM-H adapts pretrained VLA models to dexterous manipulation deployment. Across 18 real-world dexterous manipulation tasks, compared with a model post-trained only on robot data, Wh0 improves zero-shot success on unseen tasks from 8.3% to 38.9%. Ablation studies further show that scalable generation and scene/embodiment alignment are key drivers of performance gains. MOCHI: Motion Enhancement of Collaborative Human-object Interactions

Collaborative human-object interaction shows dynamic and complex movements that require mutual anticipation and continuous adjustment between participants and the shared object. Modeling such collaborative multi-human object interaction (MHOI) scenarios requires high-quality data acquisition as a foundational step; however, this is challenging due to the inherent complexity of MHOI where human-human and human-object interactions occur simultaneously. Such complexity leads to noisy MHOI captures characterized by several artifacts: contact misalignment between hands and objects, motion jitter and temporal inconsistencies in the captured sequences, and missing or incomplete finger-level articulation details. To address these challenges, we present MOCHI (MOtion Enhancement of Collaborative Human-object Interactions), a two-stage framework for enhancing noisy MHOI data. Our approach first generates physically plausible hand grasps through optimization from noisy body input, producing grasps that are both physically plausible and semantically consistent with the body pose, where these optimized grasps are extended into complete hand-object interaction sequences. Consequently, the full-body motion for all participants are refined through a diffusion-based noise optimization framework that uses single-person motion priors. During the optimization process, we introduce optimization objectives to encode human-object and human-human interaction information within these single-person priors. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our pipeline across diverse MHOI data, either acquired by existing capture methods or synthesized by generative models. We further show robustness of our system across varying numbers of participants and types of interactions, and demonstrate various applications including keyframe-based MHOI creation and data augmentation through varying object geometries.

ActWorld: From Explorable to Interactive World Model via Action-Aware Memory

Interactive world models aim to simulate environment dynamics under real-time user actions. However, their action vocabulary is largely confined to navigation: most actions correspond to motion (e.g., walk, turn, look around), while interaction with objects in the scene (e.g., pick up plates, open doors, or trigger physical responses) is either absent, restricted to game domains, or relegated to prompt-to-full-video scenarios. The resulting worlds are visually explorable but not truly actionable. In this work, we present ActWorld, an interactive world model that extends prior navigation-centric generators to support mid-rollout object interaction within a chunk-autoregressive framework. We argue that the navigation-interaction gap stems from two bottlenecks. First, a data bottleneck: the lack of human-object interaction data with accurate, dense labels. Second, a memory bottleneck: recency-biased history compression in existing world models discards the event-transition frames that causally determine subsequent object states, leading to an action-forgetting pathology. On the data side, we construct a 100K interaction video dataset, each annotated with per-chunk captions via chain-of-thought reasoning. On the model side, we introduce a hierarchical action-aware memory design that routes history compression by interaction importance, complemented by a persistent memory bank that maintains event-update and object-identity tokens across long rollouts. Experiments show that ActWorld supports both flexible navigation and rich object interaction within a single model, substantially improving interaction fidelity over navigation-only baselines without sacrificing viewpoint control. Human Universal Grasping

Humans can grasp objects effortlessly, whereas multi-fingered robots are far from this level of generality. We argue that the most natural source of robot grasping data is from humans, who pick up thousands of objects every day. We present HUG, a flow-matching model that generates diverse human grasps for any user-specified object in a single RGB-D image captured from a stereo camera. Using smart glasses, we first collect 1M-HUGs, an egocentric dataset of human grasps spanning 1M frames (27.8 hrs) and 6,707 object instances across 41 buildings. Next, to model the distribution of natural human grasps, our novel flow-matching model fuses RGB and depth observations to output a grasp parameterized by wrist translation, wrist rotation, and MANO hand pose. Predicted grasps can be retargeted to various robot hands, enabling zero-shot grasping in everyday scenes. To standardize evaluation, we build a new simulated benchmark, HUG-Bench, of 90 unseen objects from five geometric categories and various sizes, with metric-scale 3D meshes. We evaluate HUG in the real world on the 30-object test set of HUG-Bench across multiple stereo cameras, robot embodiments, and household environments. HUG outperforms the state-of-the-art grasping baselines by +23% and +34% on our challenging object set. TextHOI-3D: Text-to-3D Hand-Object Interaction via Discrete Multi-View Generation and Joint Mesh Optimization

Text-conditioned 3D generation has progressed rapidly for images and isolated objects, but producing a hand-object mesh remains challenging: the output must preserve language semantics, cross-view consistency, object geometry, articulated hand shape, and physically plausible contact. We present TextHOI-3D, a staged framework that uses generated multi-view observations as an explicit interface between text-conditioned visual generation and geometry-aware hand-object recovery. TextHOI-3D learns a compact VQ token space for fixed-camera hand-object observations, predicts multi-view visual tokens from text with a CLIP-conditioned visual autoregressive model, and recovers a unified hand-object mesh through prior initialization, multi-view joint optimization, and anti-penetration refinement. The design separates semantic generation from geometric recovery while keeping both stages connected by a discrete multi-view representation. On HO3D-derived evaluations, the multi-view setting reduces object CD from 17.26 mm to 4.92 mm and penetration volume from 5.3721 cm^3 to 0.2193 cm^3 compared with a single-view counterpart, while improving hand errors and surface F-scores. These results support multi-view visual tokens as an effective intermediate representation for text-driven 3D hand-object mesh creation.

GRAIL: Generating Humanoid Loco-Manipulation from 3D Assets and Video Priors

Scaling humanoid loco-manipulation requires robot-compatible demonstrations across diverse objects, whole-body motions, and scene geometries, but teleoperation and motion capture are difficult to scale because each collection depends on physical setups, instrumented actors, and robot operation. We present GRAIL, a digital generation pipeline that remains fully virtual until deployment: it composes 3D assets, simulator-ready scenes, and priors from video foundation models (VFMs) to synthesize interactions without rebuilding physical environments or teleoperating the robot. Rather than reconstructing unconstrained in-the-wild videos, GRAIL starts from fully specified 3D configurations in which object geometry, camera parameters, metric scale, environment depth, and a robot-proportioned character are known before video generation and reused during reconstruction. This privileged setup better conditions 4D recovery, allowing model-based object tracking, human motion estimation, and interaction-aware optimization to reconstruct metric 4D human-object interaction (HOI) trajectories with reduced depth ambiguity and morphology mismatch. We retarget the recovered motions to a humanoid robot and train complementary task-general trackers: an object-aware latent adaptor for manipulation and a scene-aware tracker for terrain traversal. GRAIL produces over 20,000 sequences spanning pick-up, object manipulation, sitting, and terrain traversal. Using only GRAIL-generated data, we train egocentric visual policies through a sim-to-real pipeline and deploy them on a Unitree G1 humanoid, achieving 84% real-world success on diverse object pick-up and 90% success on stair-climbing.

Dex2HOI: Dexterous Bimanual Two-Object Interaction Generation

Recent advances in 4D Human-Object Interaction (HOI) generation have enabled increasingly realistic motion synthesis, particularly for single-object manipulation. Yet current research overlooks an inherent property of human behavior: people naturally coordinate both hands and manipulate multiple objects simultaneously. To address this gap, we present Dex2HOI, a unified diffusion model for single- and two-object HOI synthesis from text. At its core, Dex2HOI employs a Dual-Stream Diffusion approach, where each object is processed in a dedicated interaction stream and coordinated through bidirectional cross-attention. To synthesize the final motion, we introduce a Motion Fusion Network integrated with novel hand-relative object representations and contact-aware conditioning applied across the whole sequence. By sampling the diffusion process autoregressively over prefix-conditioned windows, Dex2HOI generates arbitrarily long sequences at real-time speed omitting redundant test-time optimization, achieving up to x540 inference speed-up over prior state-of-the-art methods. Extensive evaluation on both single- and two-object benchmarks demonstrates state-of-the-art quantitative results, marking a step beyond conventional single-object HOI generation and toward expressive multi-object manipulation. PhyGenHOI: Physically-Aware 4D Generation of Dynamic Human-Object Interactions

We address the task of generating physically accurate and visually faithful 4D Human-Object Interaction (HOI). Given a static 3D human and target object represented as 3D Gaussian Splats (3DGS), our goal is to synthesize dynamic scenes where the human actively engages with the object through actions, such as punching or kicking, in accordance with a given input text. To this end, we introduce PhyGenHOI, a novel framework that couples generative human motion with an explicit physical object simulation. We model the human as a semantic agent driven by a Motion Diffusion Model (MDM) and the object as a physical agent simulated via the Material Point Method (MPM), utilizing 3D Gaussians as a unified, differentiable representation. We supervise their interaction through three coupled mechanisms: (1) A Windowed Attraction Loss that temporally synchronizes generative motion to intercept the object; (2) A Contact-Driven Re-simulation step that triggers physically consistent momentum transfer upon impact; and (3) A Masked Video-SDS objective that injects video-based priors to enhance contact fidelity. Experiments show PhyGenHOI generates physically consistent 4D HOI across diverse actions, humans, and objects, outperforming baselines.
