Overview

Novel view synthesis studies how to render a scene from camera positions that were not observed, supporting applications such as 3D reconstruction, virtual reality, robotics, and medical imaging. Common approaches include neural radiance fields, 3D Gaussian Splatting, and feed-forward multi-view transformers; diffusion and video-generation models are increasingly used to fill unseen regions or handle large viewpoint changes. Methods are tested on benchmarks such as LLFF, Mip-NeRF 360, DTU, and RealEstate10K, with growing attention to sparse, unposed, dynamic, and multimodal inputs. A central challenge is balancing photorealistic completion of unseen content with geometrically consistent views, especially when extrapolating beyond the training cameras, while keeping models efficient and robust to real-world conditions.

Generating Roadside LiDAR Datasets from Vehicle-Side Datasets via Novel View Synthesis

Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) require reliable environmental perception to support safe and efficient transportation. With the rapid development of Vehicle-to-everything (V2X), roadside perception has become an effective means to extend sensing coverage and improve traffic safety. However, the scarcity of large-scale annotated roadside LiDAR datasets poses a major challenge for training high-performance roadside perception models. In this paper, we introduce Vehicle-to-Roadside LiDAR Synthesis (VRS), a data synthesis framework that generates labeled roadside LiDAR datasets from vehicle-side datasets via LiDAR novel view synthesis. To mitigate the vehicle-to-roadside domain gap, VRS employs vehicle point cloud completion to compensate for missing geometry in vehicle-side observations, and introduces an occupancy-based visibility constraint to handle large viewpoint changes during cross-view rendering. The proposed framework enables flexible multi-view rendering for scalable roadside data generation. Extensive experiments on roadside 3D object detection demonstrate that the synthesized data effectively complements real roadside data, mitigates the limitations of limited real-world roadside data, and improves generalization to unseen roadside viewpoints.

HumanSplatHMR: Closing the Loop Between Human Mesh Recovery and Gaussian Splatting Avatar

Accurately recovering human pose and appearance from video is an essential component of scene reconstruction, with applications to motion capture, motion prediction, virtual reality, and digital twinning. Despite significant interest in building realistic human avatars from video, this paper demonstrates that existing methods do not accurately recover the 3D geometry of humans. ViT-based approaches are not consistently reliable and can overfit to 2D views, while NeRF- and Gaussian Splatting-based avatars treat pose and appearance separately, limiting rendering generalization to new poses. To resolve these shortcomings, this paper proposes HumanSplatHMR, a joint optimization framework that refines 3D human poses while simultaneously learning a high-fidelity avatar for novel-view and novel-pose synthesis. Our key insight is to close the loop between geometric pose estimation and differentiable rendering. Unlike prior human avatar methods that rely on accurate human pose obtained through motion capture systems or offline refinement, which are impractical in in-the-wild scenarios, our approach uses only human mesh estimates from a state-of-the-art human pose estimator to better reflect real-world conditions. Therefore, instead of using the human pose only as a deformation prior, HumanSplatHMR backpropagates photometric, segmentation, and depth losses through a differentiable renderer to the pose parameters and global position. This coupling refines the global 3D pose over time, improving accuracy and alignment while producing better renderings from novel views. Experiments show consistent improvements over pose recovery baselines that omit image-level refinement and avatar baselines that decouple pose estimation from avatar reconstruction.

Faster 3D Gaussian Splatting Convergence via Structure-Aware Densification

3D Gaussian Splatting has emerged as a powerful scene representation for real-time novel-view synthesis. However, its standard adaptive density control relies on screen-space positional gradients, which do not distinguish between geometric misplacement and frequency aliasing, often leading to either over-blurred high-frequency textures or inefficient over-densification. We present a structure-aware densification framework. Our key insight is that the decision to subdivide a Gaussian should be driven by an explicit comparison between its projected screen-space extent and the local structure of the texture it seeks to represent. We introduce a multi-scale frequency analysis combining structure tensors with Laplacian scale space analysis to estimate the dominant frequency at each pixel, enabling robust supervision across varying texture scales. Based on this analysis, we define ηη, a per-Gaussian, per-axis frequency violation metric that indicates when a primitive may be under-resolving local texture details. Unlike methods that perform isotropic splitting (e.g., splitting each Gaussian into two smaller ones with uniform shape), our approach performs anisotropic splitting. For each axis with high ηη, we compute a split factor to better resolve the local frequency content. We further introduce a multiview consistency criterion that aggregates ηη observations across multiple views. By performing densification early and faster, we skip the lengthy iterative densification phases required by baseline methods and achieve significantly faster convergence. Experiments on standard benchmarks demonstrate that our method also achieves superior reconstruction quality, particularly in high-frequency regions.

Softmax-GS: Generalized Gaussians Learning When to Blend or Bound

3D Gaussian Splatting (3D GS) is widely adopted for novel view synthesis due to its high training and rendering efficiency. However, its efficiency relies on the key assumption that Gaussians do not overlap in the 3D space, which leads to noticeable artifacts and view inconsistencies. In addition, the inherently diffuse boundaries of Gaussians hinder accurate reconstruction of sharp object edges. We propose Softmax-GS, a unified solution that addresses both the view-inconsistency and the diffuse-boundary problem by enforcing a softmax-based competition in overlapping regions between two Gaussians. With learnable parameters controlling the strength of the competition, it enables a continuous spectrum from smooth color blending to crisp, well-defined boundaries. Our formulation explicitly preserves order invariance for any two overlapping Gaussians and ensures that the output transmittance remains unchanged irrespective of the extent of overlapping, preventing undesirable discontinuities in the rendered output. Ablation experiments on simple geometries demonstrate the effectiveness of each component of Softmax-GS, and evaluations on real-world benchmarks show that it achieves state-of-the-art performance, improving both reconstruction quality and parameter efficiency.

Difix3D-W: Distractor-Free Few-Shot 3D Gaussian Splatting in the Wild

We propose Difix3D-W, a 3D novel sparse-view synthesis framework for unconstrained real-world scenarios that contain distractors, occlusion, and appearance variation. Unlike existing methods that primarily perform novel-view synthesis from a sparse set of constrained images without transient elements or leverage unconstrained dense image collections in real-world scenarios, our method utilize sparse unconstrained images, showing high-quality 3D rendering results. To do this, we introduce reference-guided view refinement with a redesigned one-step diffusion model using a transient mask and a reference image to mitigate artifacts in rendered views, enhancing the 3D representation in the Gaussian field. Furthermore, we address sparse regions in the Gaussian field leveraging sparsity-aware Gaussian replication strategy to amplify Gaussians in the sparse regions and alleviate deficient camera viewpoint issues. Finally, we utilize LoRA and regularization to maintain 3D multi-view consistency. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method consistently outperforms existing methods. This advancement paves the way for realizing real-world scenarios without labor-intensive data acquisition.

Two-View Accumulation as the Primary Training Lever for Hybrid-Capture Gaussian Splatting: A Variance-Decomposition View of When Gradient Surgery Helps

Hybrid-capture novel view synthesis combines images at substantially different camera distances (e.g., aerial drone and ground-level views). Standard 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS), trained for 30K iterations with one rendered view per optimizer step, under-fits the minority regime by 1-3 dB on five hybrid-capture benchmarks. We isolate the lever that closes this gap. Among compute-matched alternatives -- vanilla 60K iterations, magnitude corrections (GradNorm), direction-aware near/far gradient surgery, projective preconditioning, confidence-gated sample-level surgery, and a random two-view-per-step control -- the simplest structural change wins: rendering two views per optimizer step. The pairing rule (geometry-defined near/far, random, or active loss-disparity) does not change PSNR beyond seed variance on any of the five scenes; the structural change of having two views per step does. We propose a variance-decomposition framework that predicts and explains this finding: under bimodal camera regimes, between-regime gradient variance turns out to be small relative to within-regime variance in 3DGS, so structured and random pairings are variance-equivalent in expectation, and the variance halving from two-view accumulation itself is the dominant effect. We verify the framework on five scenes whose camera-altitude bimodality coefficients span [0.55, 1.00], and we report the negative result that direction-aware projection, magnitude correction, confidence gating, and an active loss-disparity pairing all fall within seed variance of random two-view pairing. The two-view structural lever transfers cleanly to the Scaffold-GS and Pixel-GS backbones. We position this work as an honest characterization of which training-side axes do and do not move PSNR for hybrid-capture 3DGS, together with the framework that explains why.

3D-LENS: A 3D Lifting-based Elevated Novel-view Synthesis method for Single-View Aerial-Ground Re-Identification

Aerial-Ground Re-Identification (AG-ReID) is constrained by the viewpoint-domain gap, as drastic viewpoint disparities occlude or distort discriminative features, making cross-viewpoint image retrieval challenging. While existing methods rely on paired cross-view annotations, real-world deployments, such as wilderness search-and-rescue (SAR), often lack target-domain data, requiring retrieval from ground-level references alone. To our knowledge, we are the first to address this challenge by formalizing the Single-View AG-ReID (SV AG-ReID) setting, where models trained on a single real viewpoint must generalize to an unseen viewpoint. We propose 3D Lifting-based Elevated Novel-view Synthesis (3D-LENS), a unified framework combining geometrically-consistent novel view synthesis that leverages large-scale 3D mesh reconstruction, with a robust representation learning scheme to mitigate synthetic-to-real bias. Unlike 2D generative baselines that suffer from geometric inconsistencies or prior 3D methods that are restricted to class-specific templates, our approach ensures view-consistent synthesis across diverse categories without predefined templates that fail to capture fine-grained details, such as carried objects. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance on SV AG-ReID scenarios. Code and data will be released at https://github.com/TurtleSmoke/3D-LENS.

Multivariate Gaussian NeRF for Wide Field-of-View Ultrasound Reconstruction

Wide Field-of-View (WFoV) reconstruction enhances 3D ultrasound imaging by providing valuable anatomical context for segmentation models and visualization. Clinical ultrasound volumes are predominantly acquired using convex probes, which generate expanding, diverging acoustic beams to maximize anatomical coverage. Stitching these sweeps together traditionally introduces significant compounding artifacts and aliasing due to depth-dependent resolution changes. Here, we introduce Ultra-Wide-NeRF, a Multivariate 3D Gaussian (MVG) NeRF-based method for WFoV ultrasound reconstruction. By explicitly modeling the complex beam geometry using distance-dependent convex volumetric sampling and anisotropic 3D Gaussians, our method inherently mitigates these compounding artifacts and provides anti-aliasing. Beyond simply reconstructing a static 3D grid, our NeRF-based approach yields a continuous neural representation of the tissue, enabling the synthesis of high-fidelity novel views from arbitrary virtual trajectories. We validate Ultra-Wide-NeRF for intracardiac echocardiography on phantom and porcine datasets, demonstrating that our method expands the spatial context important in intraoperative navigation. Code will be open-sourced upon publication.

Light 'em Up: Enabling Few-Shot Low-Light 3D Gaussian Splatting with Multi-Scale Explicit Retinex Illumination Decoupling

Full 360∘^\circ novel view synthesis under low-light conditions remains challenging. Insufficient illumination, noise amplification, and view-dependent photometric inconsistencies prevent existing methods from jointly preserving geometric consistency and photorealism. Unsupervised approaches often exhibit color drift under large viewpoint variations, while supervised low-light enhancement models, though effective for 2D tasks, struggle to generalize to new scenes and typically require retraining. To address this issue, we propose MERID-GS, a Multi-Scale Explicit Retinex Illumination-Decoupled Gaussian framework for low-light 360∘^\circ synthesis. Based on Retinex theory, the method explicitly separates illumination and reflectance, and suppresses noise propagation while enhancing dark-region structures via a learnable gain and Illumination-State-Guided Frequency Gating. Combined with lightweight Reflection Head and 3D Gaussian Splatting, MERID-GS adapts to new scenes with only a few shots and enables stable low-light novel view synthesis from sparse-view observations. In addition, we construct a low-light multi-view dataset covering full 360∘^\circ scenes for joint evaluation. Thorough experiments across multiple datasets in this area demonstrate that MERID-GS achieves SOTA performance, exhibiting superior cross-scene generalization and view consistency. Spatiotemporal Degradation-Aware 3D Gaussian Splatting for Realistic Underwater Scene Reconstruction

Reconstructing realistic underwater scenes from underwater video remains a meaningful yet challenging task in the multimedia domain. The inherent spatiotemporal degradations in underwater imaging, including caustics, flickering, attenuation, and backscattering, frequently result in inaccurate geometry and appearance in existing 3D reconstruction methods. While a few recent works have explored underwater degradation-aware reconstruction, they often address either spatial or temporal degradation alone, falling short in more real-world underwater scenarios where both types of degradation occur. We propose MarineSTD-GS, a novel 3D Gaussian Splatting-based framework that explicitly models both temporal and spatial degradations for realistic underwater scene reconstruction. Specifically, we introduce two paired Gaussian primitives: Intrinsic Gaussians represent the true scene, while Degraded Gaussians render the degraded observations. The color of each Degraded Gaussian is physically derived from its paired Intrinsic Gaussian via a Spatiotemporal Degradation Modeling (SDM) module, enabling self-supervised disentanglement of realistic appearance from degraded images. To ensure stable training and accurate geometry, we further propose a Depth-Guided Geometry Loss and a Multi-Stage Optimization strategy. We also construct a simulated benchmark with diverse spatial and temporal degradations and ground-truth appearances for comprehensive evaluation. Experiments on both simulated and real-world datasets show that MarineSTD-GS robustly handles spatiotemporal degradations and outperforms existing methods in novel view synthesis with realistic, water-free scene appearances.

VistaBot: View-Robust Robot Manipulation via Spatiotemporal-Aware View Synthesis

Recently, end-to-end robotic manipulation models have gained significant attention for their generalizability and scalability. However, they often suffer from limited robustness to camera viewpoint changes when training with a fixed camera. In this paper, we propose VistaBot, a novel framework that integrates feed-forward geometric models with video diffusion models to achieve view-robust closed-loop manipulation without requiring camera calibration at test time. Our approach consists of three key components: 4D geometry estimation, view synthesis latent extraction, and latent action learning. VistaBot is integrated into both action-chunking (ACT) and diffusion-based (π0π_0) policies and evaluated across simulation and real-world tasks. We further introduce the View Generalization Score (VGS) as a new metric for comprehensive evaluation of cross-view generalization. Results show that VistaBot improves VGS by 2.79×\times and 2.63×\times over ACT and π0π_0, respectively, while also achieving high-quality novel view synthesis. Our contributions include a geometry-aware synthesis model, a latent action planner, a new benchmark metric, and extensive validation across diverse environments. The code and models will be made publicly available.

AnyRecon: Arbitrary-View 3D Reconstruction with Video Diffusion Model

Sparse-view 3D reconstruction is essential for modeling scenes from casual captures, but remain challenging for non-generative reconstruction. Existing diffusion-based approaches mitigates this issues by synthesizing novel views, but they often condition on only one or two capture frames, which restricts geometric consistency and limits scalability to large or diverse scenes. We propose AnyRecon, a scalable framework for reconstruction from arbitrary and unordered sparse inputs that preserves explicit geometric control while supporting flexible conditioning cardinality. To support long-range conditioning, our method constructs a persistent global scene memory via a prepended capture view cache, and removes temporal compression to maintain frame-level correspondence under large viewpoint changes. Beyond better generative model, we also find that the interplay between generation and reconstruction is crucial for large-scale 3D scenes. Thus, we introduce a geometry-aware conditioning strategy that couples generation and reconstruction through an explicit 3D geometric memory and geometry-driven capture-view retrieval. To ensure efficiency, we combine 4-step diffusion distillation with context-window sparse attention to reduce quadratic complexity. Extensive experiments demonstrate robust and scalable reconstruction across irregular inputs, large viewpoint gaps, and long trajectories.

UniGeo: Unifying Geometric Guidance for Camera-Controllable Image Editing via Video Models

Camera-controllable image editing aims to synthesize novel views of a given scene under varying camera poses while strictly preserving cross-view geometric consistency. However, existing methods typically rely on fragmented geometric guidance, such as only injecting point clouds at the representation level despite models containing multiple levels, and are mainly based on image diffusion models that operate on discrete view mappings. These two limitations jointly lead to geometric drift and structural degradation under continuous camera motion. We observe that while leveraging video models provides continuous viewpoint priors for camera-controllable image editing, they still struggle to form stable geometric understanding if geometric guidance remains fragmented. To systematically address this, we inject unified geometric guidance across three levels that jointly determine the generative output: representation, architecture, and loss function. To this end, we propose UniGeo, a novel camera-controllable editing framework. Specifically, at the representation level, UniGeo incorporates a frame-decoupled geometric reference injection mechanism to provide robust cross-view geometry context. At the architecture level, it introduces geometric anchor attention to align multi-view features. At the loss function level, it proposes a trajectory-endpoint geometric supervision strategy to explicitly reinforce the structural fidelity of target views. Comprehensive experiments across multiple public benchmarks, encompassing both extensive and limited camera motion settings, demonstrate that UniGeo significantly outperforms existing methods in both visual quality and geometric consistency.

GlobalSplat: Efficient Feed-Forward 3D Gaussian Splatting via Global Scene Tokens

The efficient spatial allocation of primitives serves as the foundation of 3D Gaussian Splatting, as it directly dictates the synergy between representation compactness, reconstruction speed, and rendering fidelity. Previous solutions, whether based on iterative optimization or feed-forward inference, suffer from significant trade-offs between these goals, mainly due to the reliance on local, heuristic-driven allocation strategies that lack global scene awareness. Specifically, current feed-forward methods are largely pixel-aligned or voxel-aligned. By unprojecting pixels into dense, view-aligned primitives, they bake redundancy into the 3D asset. As more input views are added, the representation size increases and global consistency becomes fragile. To this end, we introduce GlobalSplat, a framework built on the principle of align first, decode later. Our approach learns a compact, global, latent scene representation that encodes multi-view input and resolves cross-view correspondences before decoding any explicit 3D geometry. Crucially, this formulation enables compact, globally consistent reconstructions without relying on pretrained pixel-prediction backbones or reusing latent features from dense baselines. Utilizing a coarse-to-fine training curriculum that gradually increases decoded capacity, GlobalSplat natively prevents representation bloat. On RealEstate10K and ACID, our model achieves competitive novel-view synthesis performance while utilizing as few as 16K Gaussians, significantly less than required by dense pipelines, obtaining a light 4MB footprint. Further, GlobalSplat enables significantly faster inference than the baselines, operating under 78 milliseconds in a single forward pass. Hybrid Latents: Geometry-Appearance-Aware Surfel Splatting

We introduce a hybrid Gaussian-hash-grid radiance representation for reconstructing 2D Gaussian scene models from multi-view images. Similar to NeST splatting, our approach reduces the entanglement between geometry and appearance common in NeRF-based models, but adds per-Gaussian latent features alongside hash-grid features to bias the optimizer toward a separation of low- and high-frequency scene components. This explicit frequency-based decomposition reduces the tendency of high-frequency texture to compensate for geometric errors. Encouraging Gaussians with hard opacity falloffs further strengthens the separation between geometry and appearance, improving both geometry reconstruction and rendering efficiency. Finally, probabilistic pruning combined with a sparsity-inducing BCE opacity loss allows redundant Gaussians to be turned off, yielding a minimal set of Gaussians sufficient to represent the scene. Using both synthetic and real-world datasets, we compare against the state of the art in Gaussian-based novel-view synthesis and demonstrate superior reconstruction fidelity with an order of magnitude fewer primitives.

Dehaze-then-Splat: Generative Dehazing with Physics-Informed 3D Gaussian Splatting for Smoke-Free Novel View Synthesis

We present Dehaze-then-Splat, a two-stage pipeline for multi-view smoke removal and novel view synthesis developed for Track~2 of the NTIRE 2026 3D Restoration and Reconstruction Challenge. In the first stage, we produce pseudo-clean training images via per-frame generative dehazing using Nano Banana Pro, followed by brightness normalization. In the second stage, we train 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) with physics-informed auxiliary losses -- depth supervision via Pearson correlation with pseudo-depth, dark channel prior regularization, and dual-source gradient matching -- that compensate for cross-view inconsistencies inherent in frame-wise generative processing. We identify a fundamental tension in dehaze-then-reconstruct pipelines: per-image restoration quality does not guarantee multi-view consistency, and such inconsistency manifests as blurred renders and structural instability in downstream 3D reconstruction. Our analysis shows that MCMC-based densification with early stopping, combined with depth and haze-suppression priors, effectively mitigates these artifacts. On the Akikaze validation scene, our pipeline achieves 20.98,dB PSNR and 0.683 SSIM for novel view synthesis, a +1.50,dB improvement over the unregularized baseline.

RobotPan: A 360∘^\circ Surround-View Robotic Vision System for Embodied Perception

Surround-view perception is increasingly important for robotic navigation and loco-manipulation, especially in human-in-the-loop settings such as teleoperation, data collection, and emergency takeover. However, current robotic visual interfaces are often limited to narrow forward-facing views, or, when multiple on-board cameras are available, require cumbersome manual switching that interrupts the operator's workflow. Both configurations suffer from motion-induced jitter that causes simulator sickness in head-mounted displays. We introduce a surround-view robotic vision system that combines six cameras with LiDAR to provide full 360∘^\circ visual coverage, while meeting the geometric and real-time constraints of embodied deployment. We further present RobotPan, a feed-forward framework that predicts metric-scaled and compact 3D Gaussians from calibrated sparse-view inputs for real-time rendering, reconstruction, and streaming. RobotPan lifts multi-view features into a unified spherical coordinate representation and decodes Gaussians using hierarchical spherical voxel priors, allocating fine resolution near the robot and coarser resolution at larger radii to reduce computational redundancy without sacrificing fidelity. To support long sequences, our online fusion updates dynamic content while preventing unbounded growth in static regions by selectively updating appearance. Finally, we release a multi-sensor dataset tailored to 360∘^\circ novel view synthesis and metric 3D reconstruction for robotics, covering navigation, manipulation, and locomotion on real platforms. Experiments show that RobotPan achieves competitive quality against prior feed-forward reconstruction and view-synthesis methods while producing substantially fewer Gaussians, enabling practical real-time embodied deployment.

DF3DV-1K: A Large-Scale Dataset and Benchmark for Distractor-Free Novel View Synthesis

Advances in radiance fields have enabled photorealistic novel view synthesis. In several domains, large-scale real-world datasets have been developed to support comprehensive benchmarking and to facilitate progress beyond scene-specific reconstruction. However, for distractor-free radiance fields, a large-scale dataset with clean and cluttered images per scene remains lacking, limiting the development. To address this gap, we introduce DF3DV-1K, a large-scale real-world dataset comprising 1,048 scenes, each providing clean and cluttered image sets for benchmarking. In total, the dataset contains 89,924 images captured using consumer cameras to mimic casual capture, spanning 128 distractor types and 161 scene themes across indoor and outdoor environments. A curated subset of 41 scenes, DF3DV-41, is systematically designed to evaluate the robustness of distractor-free radiance field methods under challenging scenarios. Using DF3DV-1K, we benchmark nine recent distractor-free radiance field methods and 3D Gaussian Splatting, identifying the most robust methods and the most challenging scenarios. Beyond benchmarking, we demonstrate an application of DF3DV-1K by fine-tuning a diffusion-based 2D enhancer to improve radiance field methods, achieving average improvements of 0.96 dB PSNR and 0.057 LPIPS on the held-out set (e.g., DF3DV-41) and the On-the-go dataset. We hope DF3DV-1K facilitates the development of distractor-free vision and promotes progress beyond scene-specific approaches. MSGS: Multispectral 3D Gaussian Splatting

We present a multispectral extension to 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) for wavelength-aware view synthesis. Each Gaussian is augmented with spectral radiance, represented via per-band spherical harmonics, and optimized under a dual-loss supervision scheme combining RGB and multispectral signals. To improve rendering fidelity, we perform spectral-to-RGB conversion at the pixel level, allowing richer spectral cues to be retained during optimization. Our method is evaluated on both public and self-captured real-world datasets, demonstrating consistent improvements over the RGB-only 3DGS baseline in terms of image quality and spectral consistency. Notably, it excels in challenging scenes involving translucent materials and anisotropic reflections. The proposed approach maintains the compactness and real-time efficiency of 3DGS while laying the foundation for future integration with physically based shading models.

ArtifactWorld: Scaling 3D Gaussian Splatting Artifact Restoration via Video Generation Models

3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) delivers high-fidelity real-time rendering but suffers from geometric and photometric degradations under sparse-view constraints. Current generative restoration approaches are often limited by insufficient temporal coherence, a lack of explicit spatial constraints, and a lack of large-scale training data, resulting in multi-view inconsistencies, erroneous geometric hallucinations, and limited generalization to diverse real-world artifact distributions. In this paper, we present ArtifactWorld, a framework that resolves 3DGS artifact repair through systematic data expansion and a homogeneous dual-model paradigm. To address the data bottleneck, we establish a fine-grained phenomenological taxonomy of 3DGS artifacts and construct a comprehensive training set of 107.5K diverse paired video clips to enhance model robustness. Architecturally, we unify the restoration process within a video diffusion backbone, utilizing an isomorphic predictor to localize structural defects via an artifact heatmap. This heatmap then guides the restoration through an Artifact-Aware Triplet Fusion mechanism, enabling precise, intensity-guided spatio-temporal repair within native self-attention. Extensive experiments demonstrate that ArtifactWorld achieves state-of-the-art performance in sparse novel view synthesis and robust 3D reconstruction. 3DTV: A Feedforward Interpolation Network for Real-Time View Synthesis

Real-time free-viewpoint rendering requires balancing multi-camera redundancy with the latency constraints of interactive applications. We address this challenge by combining lightweight geometry with learning and propose 3DTV, a feedforward network for real-time sparse-view interpolation. A Delaunay-based triplet selection ensures angular coverage for each target view. Building on this, we introduce a pose-aware depth module that estimates a coarse-to-fine depth pyramid, enabling efficient feature reprojection and occlusion-aware blending. Unlike methods that require scene-specific optimization, 3DTV runs feedforward without retraining, making it practical for AR/VR, telepresence, and interactive applications. Our experiments on challenging multi-view video datasets demonstrate that 3DTV consistently achieves a strong balance of quality and efficiency, outperforming recent real-time novel-view baselines. Crucially, 3DTV avoids explicit proxies, enabling robust rendering across diverse scenes. This makes it a practical solution for low-latency multi-view streaming and interactive rendering. FreeScale: Scaling 3D Scenes via Certainty-Aware Free-View Generation

The development of generalizable Novel View Synthesis (NVS) models is critically limited by the scarcity of large-scale training data featuring diverse and precise camera trajectories. While real-world captures are photorealistic, they are typically sparse and discrete. Conversely, synthetic data scales but suffers from a domain gap and often lacks realistic semantics. We introduce FreeScale, a novel framework that leverages the power of scene reconstruction to transform limited real-world image sequences into a scalable source of high-quality training data. Our key insight is that an imperfect reconstructed scene serves as a rich geometric proxy, but naively sampling from it amplifies artifacts. To this end, we propose a certainty-aware free-view sampling strategy identifying novel viewpoints that are both semantically meaningful and minimally affected by reconstruction errors. We demonstrate FreeScale's effectiveness by scaling up the training of feedforward NVS models, achieving a notable gain of 2.7 dB in PSNR on challenging out-of-distribution benchmarks. Furthermore, we show that the generated data can actively enhance per-scene 3D Gaussian Splatting optimization, leading to consistent improvements across multiple datasets. Our work provides a practical and powerful data generation engine to overcome a fundamental bottleneck in 3D vision. Project page: https://mvp-ai-lab.github.io/FreeScale.

FrameCrafter: Novel View Synthesis as Video Completion

We tackle the problem of sparse novel view synthesis (NVS) using video diffusion models; given KK (≈5\approx 5) multi-view images of a scene and their camera poses, we predict the view from a target camera pose. Many prior approaches leverage generative image priors encoded via diffusion models. However, models trained on single images lack multi-view knowledge. We instead argue that video models already contain implicit multi-view knowledge and so should be easier to adapt for NVS. Our key insight is to formulate sparse NVS as a low frame-rate video completion task. However, one challenge is that sparse NVS is defined over an unordered set of inputs, often too sparse to admit a meaningful order, so the models should be invariant\textit{invariant} to permutations of that input set. To this end, we present FrameCrafter, which adapts video models (naturally trained with coherent frame orderings) to permutation-invariant NVS through several architectural modifications, including per-frame latent encodings and removal of temporal positional embeddings. Our results suggest that video models can be easily trained to "forget" about time with minimal supervision, producing competitive performance on sparse-view NVS benchmarks. Geo-EVS: Geometry-Conditioned Extrapolative View Synthesis for Autonomous Driving

Extrapolative novel view synthesis can reduce camera-rig dependency in autonomous driving by generating standardized virtual views from heterogeneous sensors. Existing methods degrade outside recorded trajectories because extrapolated poses provide weak geometric support and no dense target-view supervision. The key is to explicitly expose the model to out-of-trajectory condition defects during training. We propose Geo-EVS, a geometry-conditioned framework under sparse supervision. Geo-EVS has two components. Geometry-Aware Reprojection (GAR) uses fine-tuned VGGT to reconstruct colored point clouds and reproject them to observed and virtual target poses, producing geometric condition maps. This design unifies the reprojection path between training and inference. Artifact-Guided Latent Diffusion (AGLD) injects reprojection-derived artifact masks during training so the model learns to recover structure under missing support. For evaluation, we use a LiDAR-Projected Sparse-Reference (LPSR) protocol when dense extrapolated-view ground truth is unavailable. On Waymo, Geo-EVS improves sparse-view synthesis quality and geometric accuracy, especially in high-angle and low-coverage settings. It also improves downstream 3D detection.

AnchorSplat: Feed-Forward 3D Gaussian Splatting with 3D Geometric Priors

Recent feed-forward Gaussian reconstruction models adopt a pixel-aligned formulation that maps each 2D pixel to a 3D Gaussian, entangling Gaussian representations tightly with the input images. In this paper, we propose AnchorSplat, a novel feed-forward 3DGS framework for scene-level reconstruction that represents the scene directly in 3D space. AnchorSplat introduces an anchor-aligned Gaussian representation guided by 3D geometric priors (e.g., sparse point clouds, voxels, or RGB-D point clouds), enabling a more geometry-aware renderable 3D Gaussians that is independent of image resolution and number of views. This design substantially reduces the number of required Gaussians, improving computational efficiency while enhancing reconstruction fidelity. Beyond the anchor-aligned design, we utilize a Gaussian Refiner to adjust the intermediate Gaussiansy via merely a few forward passes. Experiments on the ScanNet++ v2 NVS benchmark demonstrate the SOTA performance, outperforming previous methods with more view-consistent and substantially fewer Gaussian primitives.

LiveStre4m: Feed-Forward Live Streaming of Novel Views from Unposed Multi-View Video

Live-streaming Novel View Synthesis (NVS) from unposed multi-view video remains an open challenge in a wide range of applications. Existing methods for dynamic scene representation typically require ground-truth camera parameters and involve lengthy optimizations (≈2.67\approx 2.67s), which makes them unsuitable for live streaming scenarios. To address this issue, we propose a novel viewpoint video live-streaming method (LiveStre4m), a feed-forward model for real-time NVS from unposed sparse multi-view inputs. LiveStre4m introduces a multi-view vision transformer for keyframe 3D scene reconstruction coupled with a diffusion-transformer interpolation module that ensures temporal consistency and stable streaming. In addition, a Camera Pose Predictor module is proposed to efficiently estimate both poses and intrinsics directly from RGB images, removing the reliance on known camera calibration information. Our approach enables temporally consistent novel-view video streaming in real-time using as few as two synchronized unposed input streams. LiveStre4m attains an average reconstruction time of 0.07 0.07s per-frame at 1024×768 1024 \times 768 resolution, outperforming the optimization-based dynamic scene representation methods by orders of magnitude in runtime. These results demonstrate that LiveStre4m makes real-time NVS streaming feasible in practical settings, marking a substantial step toward deployable live novel-view synthesis systems. 3D Smoke Scene Reconstruction Guided by Vision Priors from Multimodal Large Language Models

Reconstructing 3D scenes from smoke-degraded multi-view images is particularly difficult because smoke introduces strong scattering effects, view-dependent appearance changes, and severe degradation of cross-view consistency. To address these issues, we propose a framework that integrates visual priors with efficient 3D scene modeling. We employ Nano-Banana-Pro to enhance smoke-degraded images and provide clearer visual observations for reconstruction and develop Smoke-GS, a medium-aware 3D Gaussian Splatting framework for smoke scene reconstruction and restoration-oriented novel view synthesis. Smoke-GS models the scene using explicit 3D Gaussians and introduces a lightweight view-dependent medium branch to capture direction-dependent appearance variations caused by smoke. Our method preserves the rendering efficiency of 3D Gaussian Splatting while improving robustness to smoke-induced degradation. Results demonstrate the effectiveness of our method for generating consistent and visually clear novel views in challenging smoke environments.

LSRM: High-Fidelity Object-Centric Reconstruction via Scaled Context Windows

We introduce the Large Sparse Reconstruction Model to study how scaling transformer context windows affects feed-forward 3D reconstruction. Although recent object-centric feed-forward methods produce robust, high-quality reconstructions, they still lag behind dense-view optimization in recovering fine-grained texture and appearance. We show that expanding the context window -- by substantially increasing the number of active object and image tokens -- narrows this gap and enables high-fidelity 3D object reconstruction and inverse rendering. To scale effectively, we adapt native sparse attention for 3D reconstruction with three key contributions: (1) an efficient coarse-to-fine pipeline that focuses computation on informative regions by predicting sparse high-resolution residuals; (2) a 3D-aware spatial routing mechanism that establishes accurate 2D-3D correspondences using explicit geometric distances rather than standard attention scores; and (3) a custom block-aware sequence-parallel strategy with an All-gather-KV protocol to balance dynamic, sparse workloads across GPUs. As a result, LSRM handles 20x more object tokens and >2x more image tokens than prior state-of-the-art (SOTA) methods. Extensive evaluations on standard novel-view synthesis benchmarks show substantial gains over the current SOTA, yielding >2.4dB higher PSNR and >40% lower LPIPS. Furthermore, when extending LSRM to inverse rendering, qualitative and quantitative evaluations on widely used benchmarks demonstrate consistent improvements in texture and geometry details, achieving an LPIPS that matches or exceeds that of SOTA dense-view optimization methods. GenSmoke-GS: A Multi-Stage Method for Novel View Synthesis from Smoke-Degraded Images Using a Generative Model

This paper describes our method for Track 2 of the NTIRE 2026 3D Restoration and Reconstruction (3DRR) Challenge on smoke-degraded images. In this task, smoke reduces image visibility and weakens the cross-view consistency required by scene optimization and rendering. We address this problem with a multi-stage pipeline consisting of image restoration, dehazing, MLLM-based enhancement, 3DGS-MCMC optimization, and averaging over repeated runs. The main purpose of the pipeline is to improve visibility before rendering while limiting scene-content changes across input views. Experimental results on the challenge benchmark show improved quantitative performance and better visual quality than the provided baselines. The code is available at https://github.com/plbbl/GenSmoke-GS. Our method achieved a ranking of 1 out of 14 participants in Track 2 of the NTIRE 3DRR Challenge, as reported on the official competition website: https://www.codabench.org/competitions/13993/#/results-tab.

NavCrafter: Exploring 3D Scenes from a Single Image

Creating flexible 3D scenes from a single image is vital when direct 3D data acquisition is costly or impractical. We introduce NavCrafter, a novel framework that explores 3D scenes from a single image by synthesizing novel-view video sequences with camera controllability and temporal-spatial consistency. NavCrafter leverages video diffusion models to capture rich 3D priors and adopts a geometry-aware expansion strategy to progressively extend scene coverage. To enable controllable multi-view synthesis, we introduce a multi-stage camera control mechanism that conditions diffusion models with diverse trajectories via dual-branch camera injection and attention modulation. We further propose a collision-aware camera trajectory planner and an enhanced 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) pipeline with depth-aligned supervision, structural regularization and refinement. Extensive experiments demonstrate that NavCrafter achieves state-of-the-art novel-view synthesis under large viewpoint shifts and substantially improves 3D reconstruction fidelity.
