Three-dimensional ultrasound (US) is a safe, radiation-free complementary modality to CT and X-rays for longitudinal monitoring, yet its segmentation-derived partial point clouds are extremely artifact-laden. Consequently, it is challenging to recover a clean and complete anatomical structure from such US point clouds. In this paper, we present UBone3D, a novel framework based on physics-rectified conditional flow matching (CFM) that performs point cloud completion directly from partial US observations. UBone3D models deterministic physics artifacts (e.g., surface thickening, streaking, dropouts) via a simulated physics proxy, and introduces test-time physics rectification to steer the shape completion. At inference, the completion is jointly steered by two decoupled forces: (1) anatomical plausibility enforced by a CT-trained generative shape prior, BoneFM, and (2) physics consistency enforced by USimNet in the ultrasound formation space. Extensive experiments on simulated and in-vivo data demonstrate significant improvements in reconstruction accuracy and anatomical fidelity over existing baselines.
GSComplete: Gaussian Splat Completion with 2D Diffusion Priors
Gaussian splats provide a fast, high-fidelity representation for 3D objects but are often constructed from incomplete input data in practice, leaving missing regions. Existing completion methods either do not preserve the original splats or require scarcely available 3D training data. We propose GSComplete, which combines 3D generation based on Score Distillation Sampling with a novel preservation loss that encourages the original splats to be preserved where they should be visible. This effectively completes the Gaussian splat object using only 2D diffusion priors while fully preserving existing splats and generating new splats only in missing regions, without occluding the input. To evaluate our approach, we introduce a new dataset of partial Gaussian splat objects and show that GSComplete achieves significantly more accurate preservation of the input than existing methods with comparable plausibility of the completed result. Our code and dataset will be made available upon acceptance.
Observation-Conditioned Latent Energy Priors for Sparse Implicit Neural Shape Completion
Implicit neural representations (INRs) can model continuous 3D shapes with a shared coordinate decoder and per-instance latent codes. At test time, autodecoder-style models commonly freeze the decoder and optimize a new latent code from sparse off-grid SDF samples. When these samples underconstrain inference, the latent can drift toward regions that fit the observations but decode implausible unobserved geometry. We propose a post-hoc observation-conditioned latent energy prior for frozen INR decoders. The energy scores standardized latents conditioned on a permutation-invariant encoding of the sparse observation set and is used as a residual expert alongside an L2 latent prior selected on validation data. We evaluate on a controlled cell-nucleus SDF dataset and a public MedShapeNet-derived SDF completion dataset. The proposed L2 objective augmented with conditional energy improves consistently over a validation-selected L2 baseline in the sparsest cell-nucleus regimes and, on MedShapeNet, outperforms both L2 and a six-component GMM latent-density prior across all reported readouts. A shuffled-context ablation is consistently weaker than matched context, supporting an observation-specific contribution. These results suggest that lightweight conditional energies can make pretrained INR decoders more observation-aware without retraining.
SUMI: Scalable Unified Model for 3D Point Cloud Inference
Point cloud completion commonly follows a coarse-to-fine paradigm, where a low-density coarse shape is first predicted and then upsampled to the target resolution. Although recent methods have improved global structure recovery, the fine stage often remains limited by simple upsampling and insufficient interaction with coarse structural features, making local detail reconstruction challenging. We propose SUMI, a diffusion-enhanced refinement module for coarse-to-fine point cloud completion. Unlike prior diffusion-based completion methods that use diffusion as a standalone point generator, SUMI injects noisy geometric features into cross-attention with coarse structural features, enabling reverse denoising to refine local geometry while preserving global consistency. SUMI can also be integrated into existing coarse-to-fine models as a flexible refinement module. Experiments on PCN, ShapeNet-55/34, and MVP demonstrate consistent improvements over strong baselines. SUMI achieves the best overall CD and F1-score on PCN, reduces CD by up to 16.1% on ShapeNet-55, and obtains the best CD across all output densities on MVP.
Geospatial-Prior Guidance for 3D Semantic Scene Completion
Inferring complete 3D geometry and semantics from onboard images remains challenging because occlusions and restricted fields of view leave large scene regions underconstrained. Although satellite imagery provides wide-area context, appearance cues alone offer limited structural guidance and may be unreliable because of spatial or temporal discrepancies. We present GeoScene, a geospatially guided framework that jointly uses satellite imagery and structured OpenStreetMap cues as soft priors for 3D semantic scene completion. GeoScene learns complementary voxel-wise reliability weights for onboard observations and geospatial guidance, and uses them to control feature refinement in observed and unobserved regions. This design preserves local visual evidence while exploiting large-scale road and building structure beyond onboard visibility. Experiments on SemanticKITTI and SSCBench-KITTI-360 demonstrate that GeoScene consistently improves both geometric and semantic completion under the geospatial-prior-assisted setting, with the most pronounced benefits for large-scale static and geospatially structured classes.
Axolotl3D: a Unified Framework for Faithful 3D Shape Completion
Recent 3D generative models produce high-quality geometry from a single image using large-scale priors and diffusion architectures. However, they assume complete visibility and single-view inputs, limiting applicability in multi-view, occluded, or editing scenarios. Although prior works address these challenges individually, they lack a unified framework for controllable 3D completion under diverse conditioning signals. We present Axolotl3D, a multi-modal and occlusion-aware 3D generation model that jointly conditions on images, visibility masks, camera parameters, and a partial point cloud. The point cloud serves as a geometric anchor promoting faithful shape completion, while camera parameters ensure consistent multi-view alignment in a shared 3D coordinate system. A unified training strategy synthesizes diverse conditioning regimes from large-scale 3D data, enabling robust cross-modal reasoning. Experiments on Toys4K and OmniObject3D demonstrate state-of-the-art performance under both clean and occluded settings, as well as strong results in real-world reconstruction and geometry-consistent editing.
Restore3D: Breathing Life into Broken Objects with Shape and Texture Restoration
Restoring incomplete or damaged 3D objects is crucial for cultural heritage preservation, occluded object reconstruction, and artistic design. Existing methods primarily focus on geometric completion, often neglecting texture restoration and struggling with relatively complex and diverse objects. We introduce Restore3D, a novel framework that simultaneously restores both the shape and texture of broken objects using multi-view images. To address limited training data, we develop an automated data generation pipeline that synthesizes paired incomplete-complete samples from large-scale 3D datasets. Central to Restore3D is a multi-view model, enhanced by a carefully designed Mask Self-Perceiver module with a Depth-Aware Mask Rectifier. The rectified masks learned by the self-perceiver guide an image integration and enhancement phase, helping retain observed shape and texture patterns while refining the generated regions and mitigating the low-resolution limitations of the base model, yielding high-resolution, semantically coherent, and view-consistent multi-view images. A coarse-to-fine reconstruction strategy is then employed to recover detailed textured 3D meshes from refined multi-view images. Experiments on synthetic and real broken-object benchmarks show that Restore3D improves multi-view restoration quality and textured-mesh reconstruction over representative inpainting, completion, and reconstruction baselines in the evaluated settings. CAOA -- Completion-Assisted Object-CAD Alignment
Accurately aligning CAD models to their corresponding objects in indoor RGB-D scans is a central challenge in 3D semantic reconstruction. The task requires estimating a 9-Degree-of-Freedom (DoF) pose-position, rotation, and scale along three axes-but is hindered by noisy and incomplete scans, as well as segmentation errors that cause geometric distortions. We present Completion-Assisted Object-CAD Alignment (CAOA), a method that integrates a semantically and contextually aware point cloud completion module with a symmetry-aware relative pose estimation algorithm, enabling precise alignment of CAD models to scanned objects. Existing completion methods are typically trained and evaluated on synthetic datasets, which often fail to generalize to real-world scans. To bridge this gap, we introduce a synthetic data generation strategy tailored to indoor scenes, significantly reducing the synthetic-to-real domain gap-validated through quantitative comparisons with widely used completion datasets. In addition, we release S2C-Completion, an expert-annotated dataset of over 8,500 object-CAD pairs from Scan2CAD, created for real-world indoor single-object completion and intended as a new benchmark for this task. For object-CAD alignment, we incorporate symmetry information via a symmetry-aware loss, improving robustness to symmetric ambiguities. On the Scan2CAD benchmark, CAOA achieves a 17% accuracy improvement over state-of-the-art methods.
DinoComplete: 3D Shape Completion with Distilled Semantic Priors and State Space Models
3D shape completion from partial scans remains challenging for unseen categories and noisy real-world observations, where geometry alone is often insufficient for inferring missing structure. We present DinoComplete, a deterministic and efficient shape completion framework that augments geometric reconstruction with voxel-aligned semantic priors distilled from DINO features. First, we construct multi-view DINO feature volumes aligned with ShapeNet data and train a student network to predict dense semantic features directly from incomplete shapes. These predicted features capture global structure and part-aware semantic context while remaining aligned with the underlying geometry. We then integrate these distilled features into a completion network, where geometric and semantic voxel representations are fused through voxel state-space modeling. To enable efficient long-range reasoning without sacrificing resolution, we introduce a multi-scale voxel Mamba module that refines the fused features by combining full-grid and chunk-wise sequence modeling. Experiments on unseen ShapeNet categories and ScanNet objects show that DinoComplete achieves stronger completion quality than prior deterministic and generative based completion methods while using fewer parameters, requiring lower memory, and achieving faster inference. Our results demonstrate that distilling semantic priors from visual foundation models improves generalization and robustness in 3D shape completion.
I2PRef: Image-Driven Point Completion with Iterative Refinement
We present an image-conditioned point cloud completion approach that treats images as the primary geometric source rather than a secondary guide. To this end, we introduce an Image-to-Point (I2P) module that can reconstruct complete point clouds directly from a single RGB image, with no need for 3D inputs. Additionally, we introduce a transformer-based Point-to-Point (P2P) refinement module that uses self- and cross-attention between point tokens and image features to iteratively refine the coarse I2P output. The I2P module enables the image encoder to learn rich geometric representations, while the P2P module progressively recovers fine-grained details. Unlike existing multimodal methods that rely on auxiliary losses or fusion modules, our explicit I2P task provides a strong, geometry-aware prior based on images alone. Extensive experiments on ShapeNet-ViPC demonstrate state-of-the-art completion performance with a 12.3% relative Chamfer Distance improvement over prior methods. EvObj: Learning Evolving Object-centric Representations for 3D Instance Segmentation without Scene Supervision
We introduce EvObj for unsupervised 3D instance segmentation that bridges the geometric domain gap between synthetic pretraining data and real-world point clouds. Current methods suffer from structural discrepancies when transferring object priors from synthetic datasets (e.g., ShapeNet) to real scans (e.g., ScanNet), particularly due to morphological variations and occlusion artifacts. To address this, EvObj integrates two innovative modules: (1) An object discerning module that dynamically refines object candidates, enabling continuous adaptation of object priors to target domains; and (2) An object completion module that reconstructs partial geometries after discovering objects. We conduct extensive experiments on both real-world and synthetic datasets, demonstrating superior 3D object segmentation performance over all baselines while achieving state-of-the-art results.
ShapeGrasp: Simultaneous Visuo-Haptic Shape Completion and Grasping for Improved Robot Manipulation
Humans grasp unfamiliar objects by combining an initial visual estimate with tactile and proprioceptive feedback during interaction. We present ShapeGrasp, a robotic implementation of this approach. The proposed method is an iterative grasp-and-complete pipeline that couples implicit surface visuo-haptic shape completion (creation of full 3D shape from partial information) with physics-based grasp planning. From a single RGB-D view, ShapeGrasp infers a complete shape (point cloud or triangular mesh), generates candidate grasps via rigid-body simulation, and executes the best feasible grasp. Each grasp attempt yields additional geometric constraints -- tactile surface contacts and space occupied by the gripper body -- which are fused to update the object shape. Failures trigger pose re-estimation and regrasping using the refined shape. We evaluate ShapeGrasp in the real world using two different robots and grippers. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first approach that updates shape representations following a real-world grasp. We achieved superior results over baselines for both grippers (grasp success rate of 84% with a three-finger gripper and 91% with a two-finger gripper), while improving the 3D shape reconstruction quality in all evaluation metrics used.
Sketch2Arti: Sketch-based Articulation Modeling of CAD Objects
Articulation modeling aims to infer movable parts and their motion parameters for a 3D object, enabling interactive animation, simulation, and shape editing. In this paper, we present Sketch2Arti, the first sketch-based articulation modeling system for CAD objects. Our key observation is that designers naturally communicate articulation intent through lightweight sketches (e.g., arrows and strokes) that indicate how parts should move, yet translating such sketches into articulated 3D models remains largely manual. Sketch2Arti bridges this gap by enabling users to specify articulation through simple 2D sketches drawn from a chosen viewpoint. Given a CAD model and user sketches, our approach automatically discovers the corresponding movable parts and predicts their motion parameters, allowing iterative modeling of multiple articulations on complex objects with fine-grained control. Importantly, Sketch2Arti is trained in a category-agnostic manner without requiring object category information, leading to strong generalization to diverse objects beyond existing articulation datasets. Moreover, for shell models lacking interior structures, Sketch2Arti supports controllable internal completion guided by user sketches, generating plausible internal components consistent with the existing geometry and predicted motion constraints. Comprehensive experiments and user evaluations demonstrate the effectiveness, controllability, and generalization of Sketch2Arti. GSCompleter: A Distillation-Free Plugin for Metric-Aware 3D Gaussian Splatting Completion in Seconds
3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) has revolutionized high-fidelity neural rendering with its explicit representation and efficiency. However, reconstructing scenes from sparse viewpoints suffers from severe geometric voids and floaters due to limited coverage. Current scene completion methods typically rely on an iterative "Repair-then-Distill" paradigm, which is computationally intensive, prone to unstable optimization, and susceptible to overfitting. To address these limitations, we propose GSCompleter, a distillation-free plugin that shifts scene completion to a stable "Generate-then-Register" workflow. Specifically, GSCompleter synthesizes visually plausible 2D reference images and explicitly lifts them into 3D Gaussian primitives with a consistent metric scale via a robust Stereo-Anchor View Selection mechanism. These newly generated primitives are then seamlessly integrated into the global scene using a novel Ray-Constrained Registration strategy. By replacing unstable distillation with rapid geometric registration, GSCompleter exhibits superior 3DGS completion performance across three benchmarks, enhancing both quality and efficiency over various baselines and achieving new state-of-the-art (SOTA) results.
OSCAR: Occupancy-based Shape Completion via Acoustic Neural Implicit Representations
Accurate 3D reconstruction of vertebral anatomy from ultrasound is important for guiding minimally invasive spine interventions, but it remains challenging due to acoustic shadowing and view-dependent signal variations. We propose an occupancy-based shape completion method that reconstructs complete 3D anatomical geometry from partial ultrasound observations. Crucially for intra-operative applications, our approach extracts the anatomical surface directly from the image, avoiding the need for anatomical labels during inference. This label-free completion relies on a coupled latent space representing both the image appearance and the underlying anatomical shape. By leveraging a Neural Implicit Representation (NIR) that jointly models both spatial occupancy and acoustic interactions, the method uses acoustic parameters to become implicitly aware of the unseen regions without explicit shadowing labels through tracking acoustic signal transmission. We show that this method outperforms state-of-the-art shape completion for B-mode ultrasound by 80% in HD95 score. We validate our approach both in-silico and on phantom US images with registered mesh models from CT labels, demonstrating accurate reconstruction of occluded anatomy and robust generalization across diverse imaging conditions. Code and data will be released on publication.
GENA3D: Generative Amodal 3D Modeling by Bridging 2D Priors and 3D Coherence
Generating complete 3D objects under partial occlusions (i.e., amodal scenarios) is a practically important yet challenging problem, as large portions of object geometry are unobserved in real-world scenarios. Existing approaches either operate directly in 3D, which ensures geometric consistency but often lacks generative expressiveness, or rely on 2D amodal completion, which provides strong appearance priors but does not guarantee reliable 3D structure. This raises a key question: how can we achieve both generative plausibility and geometric coherence in amodal 3D modeling? To answer this question, we introduce GENA3D (GENarative Amodal 3D), a framework that integrates learned 2D generative priors with explicit 3D geometric reasoning within a conditional 3D generation paradigm. The 2D priors enable the model to plausibly infer diverse occluded content, while the 3D representation enforces multi-view consistency and spatial validity. Our design incorporates a novel View-Wise Cross-Attention for multi-view alignment and a Stereo-Conditioned Cross-Attention to anchor generative predictions in 3D relationships. By combining generative imagination with structural constraints, GENA3D generates complete and coherent 3D objects from limited observations without sacrificing geometric fidelity. Experiments demonstrate that our method outperforms existing approaches in both synthetic and real-world amodal scenarios, highlighting the effectiveness of bridging 2D priors and 3D coherence in generating plausible and geometrically consistent 3D structures in complex environments.
