Hypergraph Learning
Overview
Hypergraph learning studies data in which one relation can connect several entities at once, such as a group of patients, words, or sensors. Common approaches use hypergraph neural networks with attention or message passing, spectral and diffusion methods, and contrastive learning; some methods also learn the hyperedges or generate hypergraphs. These techniques are applied to tasks including classification, clustering, recommendation, forecasting, and multimodal reasoning, with evaluation spanning structural benchmarks and domain-specific datasets. A central open question is whether reported gains come from genuinely higher-order information or from other model advantages, making comparisons with strong pairwise baselines important.
