Abstract

Reconstructing human activity from egocentric video requires more than recovering individual 3D components: the observer's motion, surrounding geometry, and hand-object interactions must fit together in a consistent world. Achieving this coherence requires both joint reconstruction and aligned supervision, yet existing methods and datasets offer limited support for either. We present EgoXperience, a full-stack paradigm that addresses these needs through data collection, automatic annotation, unified modeling, and benchmarking. Central to EgoXperience is an automatic annotation engine, EgoX-Engine, that couples geometrically verified object tracking with SLAM-based world alignment, yielding consistent supervision for the camera, scene, hands, and objects. This yields EgoX-Data-6M, a 50-hour dataset of task-driven manipulation and locomotion within and across indoor and outdoor environments, with second-level task captions. We carefully select one hour across these activity categories as EgoX-Bench to evaluate joint reconstruction. To translate this supervision into reconstruction, we introduce EgoX, trained with EgoX-Data-6M and complementary annotations from additional public datasets. Given monocular egocentric video and first-frame object masks, our model achieves joint metric reconstruction of the camera, scene, hands, and objects in a shared world coordinate frame with a single forward pass. Extensive experiments demonstrate state-of-the-art performance across scene estimation and world-space hand-object pose recovery. Against the strongest evaluated baselines, EgoX reduces camera, hand, and depth errors by 68.9%, 65.6%, and 42.9%, and improves object pose scores by 28.0%.

EgoFound3R: End-to-End Egocentric Hand Reconstruction in World Space with Point-Wise Interaction Attributes

Egocentric video has become a primary source of supervision for embodied models, and its value rests on recovering hand motion in world coordinates, which camera motion and hand occlusion make difficult. Existing reconstruction pipelines typically separate hand and scene estimation, leave interaction attributes to separate task-specific models, and invoke several models per video, so no prior reconstruction model estimates these attributes and throughput becomes a practical constraint on large-scale annotation. We therefore introduce EgoFound3R, a unified end-to-end model that estimates world-space hand geometry in a metric scale shared with the scene, and predicts point-wise interaction attributes, including visibility, contact, and distance. The model integrates three designs: (i) structured hand prompts that transfer pretrained geometric priors to world-space hand reconstruction; (ii) an explicit hand representation that decodes hand geometry and interaction attributes; and (iii) a shared-parameter multi-rate design that lowers inference cost. Together, these designs predict hand geometry and point-wise attributes in one pass. On OakInk-v2, TACO, and HOI4D, EgoFound3R reduces the mean per-joint position error (MPJPE) by 43.2%, 22.4%, and 11.6% over previous methods and predicts point-wise contact and distance alongside the geometry in the same pass, while attaining approximately 6x higher throughput.

WHOLE: World-Grounded Hand-Object Lifted from Egocentric Videos

Egocentric manipulation videos are highly challenging due to severe occlusions during interactions and frequent object entries and exits from the camera view as the person moves. Current methods typically focus on recovering either hand or object pose in isolation, but both struggle during interactions and fail to handle out-of-sight cases. Moreover, their independent predictions often lead to inconsistent hand-object relations. We introduce WHOLE, a method that holistically reconstructs hand and object motion in world space from egocentric videos given object templates. Our key insight is to learn a generative prior over hand-object motion to jointly reason about their interactions. At test time, the pretrained prior is guided to generate trajectories that conform to the video observations. This joint generative reconstruction substantially outperforms approaches that process hands and objects separately followed by post-processing. WHOLE achieves state-of-the-art performance on hand motion estimation, 6D object pose estimation, and their relative interaction reconstruction. Project website: https://judyye.github.io/whole-www

Seeing the World and the Self from Egocentric Video

Complete 3D perception from egocentric video requires recovering the surrounding scene and the wearer's full-body motion in a shared metric frame. Existing methods typically address scene reconstruction and motion estimation separately: scene reconstruction methods ignore the wearer, whereas motion estimation methods lack explicit scene geometry and often depend on external trajectories. Joint recovery is challenging because the two tasks exhibit asymmetric visibility and require different prediction paradigms. The largely visible scene supports deterministic geometric regression, whereas the severely occluded body requires generative motion inference. We therefore propose RESELF (REconstructing the Scene and the sELF), a unified framework that couples deterministic metric geometry reconstruction with geometry-conditioned motion generation. RESELF adapts a geometry foundation model pre-trained on large-scale exocentric data to egocentric video using frame-wise scale and relative-pose consistency objectives. The resulting camera trajectory and latent geometric features condition a diffusion model that recovers the wearer's motion. A subsequent closed-loop kinematic feedback stage further refines the camera head while preserving the reconstructed scene geometry. To support training and evaluation, we curate EE4D-JSM from EgoExo4D by aligning egocentric video, sparse metric scene geometry, camera trajectories, and full-body motion annotations. Experiments show that RESELF outperforms state-of-the-art methods designed for the individual tasks across depth estimation, camera tracking, and full-body motion estimation.
