NextMe-800: Anticipating Personal Behavior from Months of Egocentric Video

We often plan ambitiously yet act habitually and wonder, in retrospect, whether we would have planned differently had we known what we would actually do. Hindsight offers a valuable perspective on past decisions, although we often wish we could have simulated hindsight at the moment of choosing. If a system could generate plausible trajectories from one's personal history, such previews might help people formulate more realistic plans and make better informed decisions. We introduce NextMe-800, an approximately 800-hour first-person dataset from one volunteer over 126 days with 1 Hz images, gaze, and audio, captioned at five hierarchical abstraction levels from atomic actions to major activities. We formulate personalized action anticipation as open-vocabulary K-step sequence prediction and construct NextAct, a 1,500-point benchmark combining NextMe-800 with the multi-person EgoLife dataset. Using an embedding-based soft edit distance as the metric, we evaluate how well different models can anticipate personal behavior across abstraction levels and prediction horizons. NextMe-800 and NextAct provide a months-long resource and evaluation framework for studying how far ahead personal behavior can be anticipated from egocentric observation.

Ego2Act: Evaluating Goal-Directed Manipulation in Egocentric Video Generation

Video generation models are increasingly being explored as world simulators for embodied planning and learning. To do so effectively, these models must not only generate visually appealing frames, but also predict how environments dynamically evolve when executing goal-directed actions. While evaluating these capabilities is crucial, existing benchmarks focus mainly on single short actions or step-by-step instructions. This leaves multi-step physical reasoning underexplored, especially in egocentric video generation that requires planning to simulate proper execution to accomplish high-level goals by carrying out multiple real-world manipulations. We introduce Ego2Act, a goal-directed benchmark featuring 2,640 videos from 110 real-world tasks across day-to-day settings, varying object clutter and multi-step complexity. Given an initial scene image and a high-level goal, Ego2Act evaluates whether video generation models can produce realistic egocentric videos of a hand manipulating objects to carry out the task. To support scalable evaluation, we also introduce Ego2ActJudge, a reference-free evaluation pipeline that achieves better task completion and physics plausibility evaluation alignment with human consensus compared to relevant baselines. Our findings reveal that models' generated simulations often skip or partially execute steps, leaving later steps missing dependent states, which leads to unfulfilled goal. Furthermore, models consistently fail at fine-grained physical dynamics, particularly during complex object manipulation and persistent world modeling. We hope Ego2Act provides a rigorous testbed for advancing video models toward physically plausible, goal-directed simulation.

Exo2EgoHOI: Hand-Object-Interaction Aware Exocentric-to-Egocentric Video Generation

Egocentric videos of human manipulation provide valuable visual experience for embodied intelligence, yet collecting such data at scale is costly. Exocentric-to-egocentric video generation offers a scalable alternative by transforming abundant third-person manipulation videos into first-person observations. However, existing methods often struggle to faithfully preserve demonstrated hand-object interactions (HOI) across large viewpoint changes due to insufficient fine-grained interaction guidance and weak object-centric anchoring. We present Exo2EgoHOI, an HOI-aware video generative framework for interaction-preserving exocentric-to-egocentric translation. To preserve fine-grained HOI, we introduce a unified 4D HOI prior that combines scene geometry, articulated hand renderings, and dense hand-object relation fields, together with a dual-branch residual adapter for injecting structural and relational cues into the video generation backbone. To preserve object consistency, we introduce Decomposed Gated Cross-Attention, which separately encodes object and background references and adaptively integrates global semantic and local appearance features as object-centric anchors. Experiments on ARCTIC-HOI and Ego-Exo4D demonstrate substantial improvements in object consistency and HOI preservation while maintaining competitive visual fidelity. In particular, on ARCTIC-HOI, Exo2EgoHOI improves object mIoU by 32.3% and reduces MPJPE and PA-MPJPE by 34.7% and 50.0%, respectively, relative to the respective best baseline results. BinoGen: Scaling egocentric binocular data for embodied visual perception and learning

Embodied visual perception relies on temporally coherent visual experience accumulated through continuous engagement with the environment. However, collecting large-scale egocentric binocular observations together with dense annotations remains costly and difficult. Moreover, visual experience is shaped not only by the environment but also by the embodiment of the observer, including viewing height, field of view, binocular geometry, and motion through the scene. To address these challenges, we present BinoGen, an automated framework for generating large-scale, embodiment-aware egocentric binocular visual experiences in indoor environments. BinoGen jointly models environmental and observer variation through generative scene synthesis, probabilistic object instantiation, appearance randomization, stochastic trajectory generation, and configurable binocular camera setups. The framework produces synchronized binocular videos together with dense multimodal supervision, including depth maps, optical flow, surface normals, semantic maps, object coordinates, and camera poses. Using BinoGen, we construct a dataset comprising more than 20 million annotated images for supervised learning. We demonstrate two complementary utilities of BinoGen. First, incorporating BinoGen data consistently improves real-world visual perception, including depth estimation, object detection, and video object tracking. Second, paired human-inspired and mouse-inspired observations from the same environments enable controlled investigation of how observer embodiment affects perceptual learning. Embodiment-specific adaptation substantially improves performance, while joint training enables a single model to perform competitively across both embodiments. Together, these results demonstrate that large-scale, controllable visual experience can improve embodied perception...

EventEgoHands++: Event-based Egocentric 3D Hand Mesh Reconstruction with Real Dataset

3D hand mesh reconstruction is a challenging yet essential task for downstream applications, including human-robot interaction and AR/VR. Although conventional cameras have been widely adopted for this task, methods that rely on them struggle in low-light environments and under severe motion blur. To address these limitations, event-based cameras have recently attracted attention for their high dynamic range and high temporal resolution. However, applying event cameras to egocentric hand reconstruction remains challenging because camera wearer's motion produces dense background events that obscure hand-specific signals. Although the first egocentric event-based approach mitigates this issue using hand segmentation, its binary hand mask does not distinguish between left and right hands. As a result, the model lacks instance-level hand information and predicts both hands even when only one or neither hand is present. This limitation leads to incorrect inter-hand relationships and degraded reconstruction accuracy. In this paper, we propose EventEgoHands++, a framework for event-based 3D hand mesh reconstruction from an egocentric viewpoint. The proposed method incorporates a Hand Detector that estimates instance-level bounding boxes and masks for both the left and right hands. Moreover, we introduce Adaptive Attention, which dynamically gates the attention based on these detection results to accurately learn the spatial relationship and mutual interactions between the hands. To train and evaluate our framework, we extend the synthetic N-HOT3D dataset and newly construct EEH-R, the largest real-world event-based egocentric hand dataset to date, comprising approximately 1M annotated frames captured in environments including low-light conditions. Extensive experiments on both synthetic and real datasets demonstrate that our method consistently outperforms the baselines.

Towards Context-Aware Clinical Motion Understanding in Daily Living at Home: Freezing of Gait Detection with Egocentric Vision

Understanding motion in daily living requires context beyond kinematics, because similar inertial patterns during activities of daily living (ADLs) can reflect intentional stopping, object interaction, or pathological movement impairment. Egocentric vision provides task-related context that may help disambiguate these cases. We investigate this challenge through freezing of gait (FOG) detection in Parkinson's disease (PD), a symptom strongly influenced by contextual factors during ADLs. Using synchronized egocentric video, wearable IMUs, and expert-annotated FOG labels collected from 13 PD participants in their homes, we evaluate frozen representations from pretrained ego-video and time-series foundation models, alongside an IMU-based TCN trained from scratch, under leave-one-subject-out evaluation. The IMU-based TCN achieved the strongest event-detection performance, reaching 42.3 F1 and 83.0 AUROC, compared with 32.6 F1 and 77.2 AUROC for V-JEPA2 ego-video features. Although ego-video alone did not outperform IMU-based sensing, it showed above-chance discrimination, and qualitative analyses suggest that egocentric vision may capture FOG-relevant information independent of IMUs. Together, these results support the use of pretrained ego-video representations to add contextual information to wearable-sensor-based clinical motion understanding in daily living.

EgoPHI: Estimating 3D Hand-Object Contact and Force from Egocentric Vision

Understanding hand-object interaction from egocentric vision is essential for modeling how people physically engage with the surrounding world. Yet reasoning about physically grounded interaction requires estimating the forces acting on hands and objects, beyond localizing contact. We present EgoPHI, the first method that jointly estimates dense contact maps and 3D force distributions on hand and object meshes from a single monocular RGB image and object geometry. To address the lack of scalable ground-truth force annotations, we introduce a physics-based simulation pipeline that augments existing hand-object datasets with dense per-vertex force supervision. EgoPHI then learns dense 3D contact and force on interacting hand and articulated object meshes, extending vision-based force estimation beyond image-space or planar settings. Our evaluation on in-distribution and out-of-distribution benchmarks shows that EgoPHI improves force estimation over existing approaches while generalizing to unseen datasets. To evaluate sim-to-real transfer, we constructed two physical objects that capture dense object contact and force magnitude and used them to record a dataset of interactions from eight participants across diverse touch and grasp types. Our results demonstrate that EgoPHI recovers meaningful 3D contact and force distributions in simulated, out-of-distribution, and real-world settings, advancing egocentric hand-object understanding from contact localization toward physically grounded interaction reasoning.

EgoHieraLoc: A Cortically Inspired Hierarchical Segmentation-Guided Framework for Egocentric Visual Query Localization

Visual query localization (VQL) aims to retrieve and re-localize a queried object in egocentric videos, yet remains challenging when object boundaries are ambiguous and global context cannot effectively guide fine-grained localization. Human vision handles such ambiguity through a hierarchical process: it rapidly screens foreground candidates, selectively attends to the target despite distractors, refines perception via feedback between global context and local detail, and, when a single view is unreliable, integrates evidence across viewpoints according to its credibility. Inspired by these competencies, we propose \textbf{EgoHieraLoc}, a unified framework for VQL-2D and VQL-3D. A Discriminative Parsing Module first extracts foreground-aware query representations using segmentation priors; a Query-Aware Module then performs robust target localization through discriminative correlation filtering with deformable modeling; and a Regional Adaptation Module feeds multi-scale context back into local regions to recover precise object boundaries. To extend this perceptual hierarchy to 3D localization, we introduce Geometric-Semantic Joint Confidence (GSJC), which multiplicatively couples segmentation confidence with local depth consistency, multi-view back-projection consistency, and triangulation-baseline quality, so that a viewpoint contributes to the 3D estimate only when it is credible both semantically and geometrically. Extensive experiments demonstrate state-of-the-art performance on both VQL-2D and -3D benchmarks.

Ego-OSCAR: Egocentric Open source Stereo CAptuRe System

We present Ego-OSCAR, an open-hardware, low-cost, head-mounted stereo-inertial capture device for egocentric data collection in the wild. EgoOSCAR pairs a hardware-synchronized global-shutter stereo camera with a 6- axis IMU, an embedded Linux SBC for on-device video encoding, and a realtime microcontroller for user feedback and watchdog functions. The complete bill of materials is under USD 200 per unit, using only commercially available components and 3D-printed parts. Alongside the device, we release a complete software stack (hardware-accelerated recording pipeline, IMU sampling daemon, time-synchronization tooling, and watchdog firmware) and roughly 550 hours of egocentric stereo video per camera with synchronized IMU, collected by a distributed contributor network across everyday indoor environments. The release is annotated rather than raw: free-form action captions cover essentially the entire recorded timeline with an open vocabulary, and per-frame 3D hand reconstructions ship alongside per-session stereo calibration. Ego-OSCAR does not aim to match the per-unit fidelity of research-grade systems such as Project Aria; it aims to be the cheapest defensible substrate for crowdsourced egocentric capture, and to lower the activation energy for any team that wants to collect egocentric data at scale. All hardware designs, software, and the dataset are open-sourced

EgoGenesis: Egocentric World-Action Modeling with Online Anchored Projective Memory and Action-3D RoPE

Egocentric video offers rich manipulation experience for embodied AI, yet collecting diverse egocentric data across scenes, objects, motions, and embodiments remains costly. We present \method, an egocentric world-action simulator that synthesizes controllable, high-quality manipulation videos to expand scarce real-world training data. \method{} builds on a pretrained video generation prior and introduces two geometry-aware conditioning mechanisms. Online Anchored Projective Memory (OAPM) preserves a first-frame 3D scene anchor while periodically refreshing a recent state during autoregressive generation. Action-3D Rotary Position Embedding (A3D-RoPE) encodes end-effector motion with camera-aware 3D rotary coordinates, injecting action geometry into skeleton-to-video cross-attention for precise control. Together, these components improve visual fidelity, geometric stability, and action alignment in long egocentric rollouts. Moreover, augmenting 400 real trajectories with 400 \method-generated trajectories improves out-of-distribution real-robot success from 77% to 84% on single-arm tasks and from 53% to 70% on dual-arm tasks, demonstrating that the synthesized data substantially improve downstream WAM generalization.

TSR-Ego: Temporally Guided Stereo Refinement Framework for Egocentric 3D Human Pose Estimation

Egocentric 3D human pose estimation from head-mounted stereo cameras is challenging due to fisheye distortion, severe self-occlusion, and frequent truncation of body joints outside the camera field of view. Recent stereo egocentric methods have improved performance through heatmap lifting, stereo correspondence, and transformer-based refinement, but they often rely heavily on frame-local evidence or use temporal information only as auxiliary pose-level context. This limits robustness when current-frame stereo cues are weak, occluded, or ambiguous. We propose TSR-Ego, a temporally guided stereo framework that couples short-term motion evidence with projection-guided feature sampling. The model first enriches dense stereo feature maps using a causal depthwise-separable temporal convolution, allowing past visual evidence to influence the feature space before deformable cross-attention. A single-stage causal stereo decoder then refines learned 3D joint queries through temporal self-attention, joint self-attention, and fisheye deformable stereo cross-attention, using the evolving pose estimate to generate 2D sampling references. Unlike methods that apply temporal reasoning mainly after pose prediction, TSR-Ego uses motion context to shape both the sampled stereo features and the joint representations while preserving online inference without future frames. Experiments on UnrealEgo2 and UnrealEgo-RW show state-of-the-art performance, with especially strong gains on real-world sequences.

EgoWAM: World Action Models Beyond Pixels with In-the-Wild Egocentric Human Data

Egocentric human data offers scalable supervision for robot manipulation. However, behavior cloning entangles transferable content like objects, scenes, and task semantics, with non-transferable factors like human morphology, head motion, and behavioral style. We study whether World Action Models (WAMs) provide a better training signal by requiring policies to predict not only actions, but also how the scene evolves. The central question is what world representation best enables human-to-robot transfer. We hypothesize that an effective world target should abstract appearance, capture agent-invariant physical effects, and separate camera motion from environment change. We introduce EgoWAM, a controlled human-robot co-training framework that fixes the policy backbone, action head, and data mixture while varying only the world prediction target, comparing Pixel, DINO, and 3D motion flow. Across three real-world bimanual tasks, WAM co-training scales more effectively with in-the-wild egocentric human data than behavior cloning. Pixel-based prediction transfers weakly, while DINO and 3D flow yield substantial gains: DINO improves out-of-distribution object and scene generalization by up to 4x, and 3D flow improves in-domain performance by 20-30%. How Much Future Helps? A Controlled Study of Future-Privileged Supervision for Causal Egocentric Gaze Estimation

Egocentric gaze estimation is commonly studied using models that process the full video with access to future frames, while real-world applications require strictly causal, online prediction. This discrepancy raises key questions: Does future context inherently provide valuable signals for gaze estimation? If so, how much future look-ahead optimally supervises a causal model during training? To investigate, we propose a controlled framework featuring a future-aware branch that accesses a tunable look-ahead horizon during training but is discarded at inference. This design isolates the impact of future context while keeping the inference architecture fixed and strictly causal. Across EGTEA Gaze+ and Ego4D, we find that future-privileged supervision consistently improves causal gaze prediction, confirming its utility. However, performance gains do not increase monotonically with longer look-ahead, but rather peak within a bounded temporal regime. Specifically, optimal performance corresponds to roughly 1.7--3.3 seconds of future context (H∈[5,10]H{\in}[5, 10]) on EGTEA Gaze+ and 2.7 seconds (H=10H{=}10) on Ego4D. Our results demonstrate that lightweight causal models can effectively absorb future-aware signals, providing practical guidance for real-time egocentric gaze modeling.

Toward Low-Latency Vision-Language Models with Doubly-Correct Predictions in Egocentric Visual Understanding

The rapid rise of Vision-Language Models (VLMs) in egocentric visual understanding has made low-latency inference in human-robot collaborative (HRC) tasks increasingly critical. Weight pruning techniques developed for VLMs to shrink model size and computation can be readily applied to satisfy the efficiency demands of on-board processing and real-time interactive robotics. Moreover, safe human-robot interaction demands pruning strategies that preserve doubly-correct predictions; outputs must be both accurate and evidentially grounded to mitigate risks and ensure user trust. In this paper, we present a new study of VLM pruning through the lens of doubly-correct prediction. Our experiments surprisingly show that existing pruning methods often preserve the right evidence localization but undermine correct prediction. To address this, we propose a rationale-informed pruning strategy that better aligns evidence with decisions. Benchmark results on egocentric video datasets demonstrate that our method not only achieves the highest prediction accuracy but also outperforms existing approaches in attaining doubly-correct predictions. We aim to stimulate research on efficient and reliable VLMs, ensuring accuracy-driven advances align with the transparency, auditability, and safety required for responsible human-robot interaction and embodied intelligence.

PROSE: Training-Free Egocentric Scene Registration with Vision-Language Models

Registering two captures of the same indoor space taken at different times underpins persistent spatial memory for robots and AR systems, yet the realistic version of this task is egocentric and its most scalable form is RGB-only. Head-mounted cameras yield blurry, fast-moving, partially overlapping views from which dense geometry is hard to recover. Classical registration leans on exactly the clean point clouds this setting lacks, while learned scene-graph methods require a pre-built or annotated graph and a trained matcher that we find brittle under egocentric data. We take a different route, using a pretrained vision-language model as the source of both scene understanding and cross-scan matching. Our method, PROSE (Prompted Scene rEgistration), lifts each RGB sequence into an object-level 3D scene graph using off-the-shelf foundation models for geometry, segmentation, and language, then prompts the same VLM to match object instances across the two RGB sequences. To make this matching tractable and reliable, we leverage object heights as a prior and verify each proposed match with a paired same/different query, then solve for the rigid transform by hypothesizing a candidate per matched object and selecting the one with the strongest geometric consensus. PROSE adds no learned parameters and requires no depth sensor, training, or annotated graph. On the egocentric Aria Digital Twin and Aria Everyday Activities benchmarks, it outperforms both geometric and learned scene-graph baselines in registration accuracy, on ground-truth and RGB-reconstructed point clouds alike, and the scene graph it produces transfers directly to downstream tasks.

WristCompass: Kinematic Coupling as a Learnable Visual Concept for Ego-Camera Orientation

Recovering ego-camera orientation from manipulation video is a prerequisite for disentangling hand motion from camera motion, a key step in imitation learning from egocentric demonstrations. The obvious approach, inferring orientation from scene geometry, fails when hands occlude the frame: VGGT, a 1B-parameter scene reconstruction model, scores worse than a constant predictor on the TACO benchmark. We identify an alternative visual concept that is present precisely when scene geometry is absent: kinematic coupling dynamics, the structured physical relationship between wrist motion and camera orientation imposed by the arm-shoulder-head chain. We find that this concept is compact (4D inter-wrist features outperform 126D full hand keypoints), temporal (requiring a GRU over short windows rather than per-frame retrieval), and physically grounded (transferring zero-shot across datasets because it is rooted in anatomy rather than scene appearance). Trained only on tabletop manipulation, WristCompass transfers zero-shot to Epic Kitchens cooking video, achieving 14.3∘^\circ median geodesic error and approaching the performance of a 1B-parameter scene model at 200K GRU parameters.

E3^3C: Video Generation with 3D Environmental Memory and Ego-Exo Human Pose Control

Controllable and physically grounded egocentric video generation is essential for embodied agents to reason about how their own and others' actions manifest and change the world. Compared to generic video synthesis, egocentric generation is especially challenging: the camera is tightly coupled to the actor, leading to rapid viewpoint changes and frequent self-occlusions; the underlying actions are subtle, articulated, and often only partially visible; and both the people and the scene state must evolve consistently with the specified controls. We present E3^3C, a controllable video diffusion framework for egocentric generation that builds structured and compact conditions disentangling persistent scene structure from human-driven dynamics. From context frames, E3^3C constructs a semi-dense point cloud-based 3D memory and augments each point with appearance descriptors from video-VAE features. Rendering this memory into target viewpoints produces conditioning aligned with the target frames. Human dynamics are modeled separately. The observed people in the scene are controlled by skeleton renderings (exo human control), while the camera wearer is specified by their 3D body joints and 6DoF wrist motion (ego human control). To preserve ego human control when the wearer's body parts are invisible, we introduce an ego motion encoder that produces persistent cross-attention tokens. Experiments on Nymeria show that E3^3C improves visual fidelity, camera-motion accuracy, object consistency, and ego & exo human control over strong baselines, while also enabling intuitive scene editing.

TempRet: Temporal Enhancement and Two-Stage Reranking for CVPR 2026 EPIC-KITCHENS-100 Multi-Instance Retrieval Challenge

Video-text retrieval has witnessed remarkable progress driven by large-scale vision-language pretraining, yet most existing approaches inherit an implicit assumption from image-text retrieval: that visual semantics can be captured frame-by-frame. This assumption overlooks the temporal dynamics of egocentric videos. The EPIC-KITCHENS-100 Multi-Instance Retrieval (MIR) challenge further raises the bar by providing soft-label relevance matrices rather than binary labels, demanding models that can resolve graded semantic correspondences across modalities. In this report, we present our solution, termed TempRet, to the CVPR 2026 EPIC-KITCHENS-100 MIR challenge. Our approach builds upon a CLIP-based dual-encoder backbone and introduces two key components to address the temporal and cross-modal challenges. First, a temporal transformer operates exclusively on the video side, modeling inter-frame dependencies through learnable positional encodings and multi-head self-attention over frame-level CLIP features. Second, a two-stage reranking pipeline first retrieves Top-K candidates via the dual-encoder, then refines their scores using a cross-encoder equipped with an Image-Text Matching (ITM) head. The entire system is trained with Symmetric Multi-Similarity Loss to exploit the soft-label relevance matrices provided by the challenge. Our method achieves 67.97% average mAP and 82.92% average nDCG on the EK-100 MIR benchmark, demonstrating the effectiveness of temporal modeling and cross-modal refinement for egocentric video retrieval.

Map-Mono-Ego: Map-Grounded Global Human Pose Estimation from Monocular Egocentric Video

Monocular egocentric human pose estimation is essential for ubiquitous activity monitoring. However, understanding the user's absolute location within the environment remains a challenge. Existing methods primarily focus on relative motion from an initial position, and tend not to account for the wearer's absolute location within an environment. Furthermore, inherent scale ambiguity in monocular vision leads to severe translational drift, limiting long-term tracking without specialized multi-sensor hardware. To address this, we propose MapMonoEgo, a novel framework achieving globally consistent human pose estimation solely from a monocular camera by leveraging a pre-scanned 3D point cloud. We also introduce AIST-Living dataset, a new dataset pairing egocentric video with ground-truth motion in a scanned environment. Experiments demonstrate that our approach significantly outperforms the state-of-the-art baseline, proving its utility for practical monitoring tasks without specialized hardware.

EgoTraj: Real-World Egocentric Human Trajectory Dataset for Multimodal Prediction

Accurately forecasting human trajectories from an egocentric perspective plays a central role in applications such as humanoid robotics, wearable sensing systems, and assistive navigation. However, progress in this direction remains limited due to the scarcity of egocentric trajectory datasets collected in real-world environments. Addressing this need, we introduce EgoTraj, an egocentric multimodal open dataset recorded using Meta Quest Pro (MQPro). EgoTraj contains 75 sequences of human navigation collected from multiple MQPro wearers in real-world urban environments. Each recording provides synchronized RGB video along with ground-truth data, including continuous time-synchronized 6-degree-of-freedom head poses, per-frame 3D eye gaze vectors, scene annotations. To the best of our knowledge, EgoTraj differs from typical egocentric trajectory datasets by capturing long-horizon, self-directed navigation across diverse urban routes with broad participant diversity. To demonstrate the potential of the dataset, we benchmark several state-of-the-art methods for egocentric trajectory prediction and conduct ablation studies to analyze the contributions of gaze, scene, and motion cues. The results highlight the utility of EgoTraj for AR-based perception, navigation, and assistive systems. The EgoTraj dataset, code, and EgoViz Dashboard are publicly available at https://github.com/yehiahmad/EgoTraj.

EgoKit: Towards Unified Low-Cost Egocentric Data Collection with Heterogeneous Devices

Egocentric video is increasingly used as a data source for robot learning, activity understanding, and embodied AI research, but collecting it at scale remains fragmented in practice: each candidate host device, such as an Android phone, iPhone, iPad, smart glasses, or extended reality (XR) headset, exposes a different SDK, a different policy on raw camera access, and different limitations on external USB cameras and on-device tracking. Synchronized ego-view and wrist-view capture is therefore typically obtained by either committing to a single proprietary platform or building one-off rigs that do not transfer across devices. To address this gap, we present EgoKit, a toolkit that exposes the same egocentric recording workflow across six heterogeneous host devices. Across all supported devices, EgoKit presents the same recording interaction and produces locally stored video with a uniform log format; on XR headsets, it additionally logs head pose and OpenXR-standard 26-joint hand tracking aligned to the video streams. The companion accessories, including two wrist cameras with mounts, a head strap, and a USB-C hub, add wrist-view capture to any supported host without custom hardware fabrication. Behavior Cloning for Active Perception with Low-Resolution Egocentric Vision

We investigate whether behavior cloning is sufficient to produce active perception in a structured object-finding task. A low-cost robot arm equipped with a wrist-mounted egocentric RGB camera must reposition to center a partially visible plant before triggering a grasp signal, requiring actions that improve future observations. The model predicts joint commands directly from low-resolution RGB images under closed-loop control. We show that low-resolution egocentric vision is sufficient for reliable task completion and that predicting relative joint deltas substantially outperforms absolute joint position prediction in our setting. These results demonstrate that visually grounded active perception can emerge from behavior cloning in a reproducible setting.

EgoForce: Robust Online Egocentric Motion Reconstruction via Diffusion Forcing

With recent advances in embodied agents and AR devices, egocentric observations are readily available as input for real-world interactive online applications. However, egocentric viewpoints can only sporadically observe hands, in addition to the estimated head trajectory. We propose EgoForce, an online framework for reconstructing long-term full-body motion from noisy egocentric input. While existing generative frameworks can robustly handle noisy and sparse measurements, they assume a fixed-length observation window is available and are thus not suitable for real-time applications. Faster inference often relies on autoregressive prediction, sacrificing robustness. In contrast, we adopt a diffusion-based method with a temporally asymmetric noise schedule inspired by Diffusion Forcing. Specifically, our approach models temporally evolving uncertainty and incrementally denoises states as new streaming observations arrive. Combined with a noise-robust imputation strategy, EgoForce progressively generates stable and coherent full-body motion under strict causal constraints. Experiments demonstrate that our online framework outperforms existing online and offline methods, enabling long-horizon, full-body motion reconstruction in challenging egocentric scenarios.

EgoEV-HandPose: Egocentric 3D Hand Pose Estimation and Gesture Recognition with Stereo Event Cameras

Egocentric 3D hand pose estimation and gesture recognition are essential for immersive augmented/virtual reality, human-computer interaction, and robotics. However, conventional frame-based cameras suffer from motion blur and limited dynamic range, while existing event-based methods are hindered by ego-motion interference, monocular depth ambiguity, and the lack of large-scale real-world stereo datasets. To overcome these limitations, we propose EgoEV-HandPose, an end-to-end framework for joint 3D bimanual pose estimation and gesture recognition from stereo event streams. Central to our approach is KeypointBEV, a flexible stereo fusion module that lifts features into a canonical bird's-eye-view space and employs an iterative reprojection-guided refinement loop to progressively resolve depth uncertainty and enforce kinematic consistency. In addition, we introduce EgoEVHands, the first large-scale real-world stereo event-camera dataset for egocentric hand perception, containing 5,419 annotated sequences with dense 3D/2D keypoints across 38 gesture classes under varying illumination. Extensive experiments demonstrate that EgoEV-HandPose achieves state-of-the-art performance with an MPJPE of 30.54mm and 86.87% Top-1 gesture recognition accuracy, significantly outperforming RGB-based stereo and prior event-camera methods, particularly in low-light and bimanual occlusion scenarios, thereby setting a new benchmark for event-based egocentric perception. The established dataset and source code will be publicly released at https://github.com/ZJUWang01/EgoEV-HandPose.

VISTA: A Generative Egocentric Video Framework for Daily Assistance

Training AI agents to proactively assist humans in daily activities, from routine household tasks to urgent safety situations, requires large-scale visual data. However, capturing such scenarios in the real world is often difficult, costly, or unsafe, and physics-based simulators lack the visual fidelity needed to transfer learned behaviors to real settings. Therefore, we introduce VISTA, a video synthesis system that produces high-fidelity egocentric videos as training and evaluation data for AI agents. VISTA employs a 5-step script generation pipeline with causal reverse reasoning to create diverse, logically grounded intervention modes. These scenarios span two levels of agent autonomy: reactive and proactive. In reactive modes, the user explicitly asks the agent for help. In proactive modes, the agent offers help without receiving a direct request. We further divide proactive modes into explicit and implicit types. In explicit proactive scenarios, the user is aware of needing help but does not directly address the agent. In implicit proactive scenarios, the agent intervenes before the user even realizes that help is needed. VISTA allows users to customize and refine scenarios to generate video benchmarks for daily tasks, offering a scalable and controllable alternative to real-world data collection for training and evaluating AI agents in realistic environments.

MobileEgo Anywhere: Open Infrastructure for long horizon egocentric data on commodity hardware

Vision-language-action (VLA) models have driven demand for large-scale egocentric datasets, yet the hardware and infrastructure to collect long-horizon data remain inaccessible. Datasets today typically have episodes only a few minutes long, which fails to capture the long-horizon temporal dependencies that complex robotic task execution requires. We present MobileEgo Anywhere, a framework for collecting hour-plus egocentric trajectories on commodity mobile hardware that uses modern smartphone sensors for long-term pose tracking without the hardware barriers of traditional robotics data collection. We release three components: (1) STERA, an open-source video-processing pipeline that converts raw mobile captures into standardized, training-ready formats for VLA and foundation-model research; (2) a free mobile app that lets any user record egocentric activity; and (3) a 200-hour dataset of diverse, long-form egocentric data with persistent state tracking across 584 sessions. We further show this data is a usable training signal:mid-training a VLA on it lowers held-out action-prediction error.

Bringing a Personal Point of View: Evaluating Dynamic 3D Gaussian Splatting for Egocentric Scene Reconstruction

Egocentric video provides a unique view into human perception and interaction, with growing relevance for augmented reality, robotics, and assistive technologies. However, rapid camera motion and complex scene dynamics pose major challenges for 3D reconstruction from this perspective. While 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) has become a state-of-the-art method for efficient, high-quality novel view synthesis, variants, that focus on reconstructing dynamic scenes from monocular video are rarely evaluated on egocentric video. It remains unclear whether existing models generalize to this setting or if egocentric-specific solutions are needed. In this work, we evaluate dynamic monocular 3DGS models on egocentric and exocentric video using paired ego-exo recordings from the EgoExo4D dataset. We find that reconstruction quality is consistently lower in egocentric views. Analysis reveals that the difference in reconstruction quality, measured in peak signal-to-noise ratio, stems from the reconstruction of static, not dynamic, content. Our findings underscore current limitations and motivate the development of egocentric-specific approaches, while also highlighting the value of separately evaluating static and dynamic regions of a video.

EgoSim: Egocentric World Simulator for Embodied Interaction Generation

We introduce EgoSim, a closed-loop egocentric world simulator that generates spatially consistent interaction videos and persistently updates the underlying 3D scene state for continuous simulation. Existing egocentric simulators either lack explicit 3D grounding, causing structural drift under viewpoint changes, or treat the scene as static, failing to update world states across multi-stage interactions. EgoSim addresses both limitations by modeling 3D scenes as updatable world states. We generate embodiment interactions via a Geometry-action-aware Observation Simulation model, with spatial consistency from an Interaction-aware State Updating module. To overcome the critical data bottleneck posed by the difficulty in acquiring densely aligned scene-interaction training pairs, we design a scalable pipeline that extracts static point clouds, camera trajectories, and embodiment actions from in-the-wild large-scale monocular egocentric videos. We further introduce EgoCap, a capture system that enables low-cost real-world data collection with uncalibrated smartphones. Extensive experiments demonstrate that EgoSim significantly outperforms existing methods in terms of visual quality, spatial consistency, and generalization to complex scenes and in-the-wild dexterous interactions, while supporting cross-embodiment transfer to robotic manipulation. Codes and datasets will be open soon. The project page is at egosimulator.github.io.

Controllable Egocentric Video Generation via Occlusion-Aware Sparse 3D Hand Joints

Controllable video generation for complex hand-object interactions is a critical step toward building visual world models. However, existing methods often struggle to achieve fine-grained, 3D-consistent hand articulation in generated videos. By relying on dense 2D trajectories or implicit pose representations, they collapse crucial geometric structures into spatially ambiguous signals, leading to severe motion inconsistencies and hallucinated artifacts under egocentric occlusions. To address this, we propose leveraging sparse 3D hand joints as explicit control signals with three key advantages: explicit geometry to resolve occlusions, an intuitive interface for interactive editing, and cross-embodiment generalization to robotic hands. Built upon this, our efficient control module extracts occlusion-aware features from the source reference frame by penalizing unreliable visual features from hidden joints, and employs a 3D-based weighting mechanism to handle dynamically occluded target joints during motion propagation. Meanwhile, it directly injects 3D geometric embeddings into the latent space to enforce structural consistency. To facilitate robust training and evaluation, we develop an automated annotation pipeline, yielding 1M high-quality egocentric video clips paired with precise hand trajectories. Experiments demonstrate that our approach outperforms state-of-the-art baselines, generating high-fidelity egocentric videos with realistic hand-object interactions.

EXPLORE-Bench: Egocentric Scene Prediction with Long-Horizon Reasoning

Multimodal large language models (MLLMs) are increasingly considered as a foundation for embodied agents, yet it remains unclear whether they can reliably reason about the long-term physical consequences of actions from an egocentric viewpoint. We study this gap through a new task, Egocentric Scene Prediction with LOng-horizon REasoning: given an initial-scene image and a sequence of atomic action descriptions, a model is asked to predict the final scene after all actions are executed. To enable systematic evaluation, we introduce EXPLORE-Bench, a benchmark curated from real first-person videos spanning diverse scenarios. Each instance pairs long action sequences with structured final-scene annotations, including object categories, visual attributes, and inter-object relations, which supports fine-grained, quantitative assessment. Experiments on a range of proprietary and open-source MLLMs reveal a significant performance gap to humans, indicating that long-horizon egocentric reasoning remains a major challenge. We further analyze test-time scaling via stepwise reasoning and show that decomposing long action sequences can improve performance to some extent, while incurring non-trivial computational overhead. Overall, EXPLORE-Bench provides a principled testbed for measuring and advancing long-horizon reasoning for egocentric embodied perception.
