MambaMPD: A Mamba-Driven Segmentation Framework for Marine Pollution Detection from Remote Sensing Imagery

Accurate marine pollution detection (MPD) is essential for protecting coastal ecosystems and marine biodiversity. Vision Mamba models have shown promise in remote-sensing semantic segmentation by efficiently capturing long-range dependencies and global context, yet their potential for MPD remains underexplored. MPD is particularly challenging because of low signal-to-noise ratios, fragmented pollution patterns, and indistinct boundaries caused by the visual similarity between pollutants and the surrounding sea. To address these issues, we propose MambaMPD, an enhanced Mamba-based framework incorporating two complementary structural priors: Frequency-Aware Augmentation (FAA) and multi-scale Edge-Guided Attention (EGA). FAA integrates wavelet transforms into the encoder to decompose features into multi-scale frequency subbands, enabling the model to capture low-frequency contextual semantics and high-frequency structural details needed to identify small, low-contrast, and irregular pollution patterns. EGA adaptively fuses hierarchical, Laplacian-derived boundary cues with deep semantic representations, refining encoder features before decoding to sharpen boundaries and reduce ambiguity in visually confusing, spatially fragmented scenes. Together, these modules improve sensitivity to subtle pollution signals while preserving fine boundary structures. A U-Net-style decoder with squeeze-and-excitation attention and deep supervision progressively restores and refines semantic and spatial information across scales. Extensive experiments on two benchmark MPD datasets show that MambaMPD achieves higher mIoU than competing methods while requiring substantially less computation than foundation-model-based approaches. On MADOS, it improves F1 by 3.6% over OSDMamba; on M4D, it raises Oil Spill IoU by 6.82% over TransOilSeg.

PE-Mamba: Bidirectional Selective Layer Aggregation for AI-Generated Image Detection

AI-generated image (AIGI) detection has become increasingly challenging due to the rapid advancement of generative models and the diminishing gap between synthetic and authentic content. Existing vision transformer-based detectors commonly rely on weighted-sum strategies to aggregate intermediate representations across transformer layers, often overlooking the inherently ordered semantic progression of hierarchical features from shallow texture cues to deep semantic representations. In this work, we propose \textbf{PE-Mamba}, a novel framework built upon a pre-trained PE-Core vision transformer with lightweight LoRA adaptation that introduces three complementary components for cross-layer feature aggregation and fusion. First, a bidirectional selective aggregator (BSA) processes layer-wise classification tokens through forward and backward selective scans, where the forward scan progressively accumulates shallow-to-deep forensic evidence, and the backward scan performs deep-to-shallow contextual refinement to reinterpret low-level cues in light of high-level semantic context. Second, a softmax-weighted aggregator (SWA) computes a learned global summary of all layer tokens as a complementary aggregation path. Third, a sigmoid-gated blend (SGA) adaptively fuses the BSA and SWA outputs via a learnable scalar gate, allowing the model to dynamically balance directional sequential evidence and global layer-wise aggregation. Extensive experiments on UniversalFakeDetect (96.6% mACC, 99.5% mAP) and AIGCDetect (95.3% mACC, 98.1% mAP) demonstrate that \methodname{} outperforms 18 detectors with superior generalization across diverse generative models, while training only 1.3% of total parameters (0.13% for LoRA alone).

A Unified Benchmark of Deep Learning Models for Multi-task 3D Brain Tumor Segmentation from Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Automatic brain tumor segmentation from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has become a fundamental task in computer-assisted diagnosis, treatment planning, and disease monitoring. Although numerous deep learning architectures have recently been proposed, objective comparisons remain challenging because published studies often employ different datasets, preprocessing strategies, training protocols, and evaluation procedures. This work presents a unified experimental benchmark for comparing representative convolutional neural networks (CNNs), Transformer-based models, and recent State Space Model (SSM) architectures under homogeneous experimental conditions. Five state-of-the-art three-dimensional segmentation models, including 3D U-Net, SegResNet, Swin UNETR, SegMamba, and SegMambaV2, are evaluated on two brain tumor segmentation datasets representing distinct clinical scenarios: intracranial meningioma segmentation (BraTS 2023) and post-treatment glioma segmentation (BraTS 2024). All architectures are trained using identical preprocessing, data augmentation, optimization strategies, and evaluation protocols to ensure a fair comparison. Performance is assessed using segmentation accuracy metrics together with computational cost indicators, including inference time and the size of each model. The results provide practical insights into the trade-offs between segmentation accuracy and computational efficiency, highlighting the suitability of different architectural paradigms for challenging three-dimensional brain tumor segmentation tasks.

MambaLSTM: A Spatio-Temporal Framework for Enhanced Traffic Accident Risk Prediction

In traffic accident risk prediction, most studies overlook the extra noise that could be incorporated when fusing temporal features into spatial features, and some models struggle to capture global correlations among spatial regions. To address these challenges, we propose a novel traffic accident risk prediction framework named MambaLSTM. First, we develop a squeeze-and-excitation temporal feature fusion module to integrate temporal information without compromising spatio-temporal integrity. Second, we introduce a new patch embedding module for effectively capturing semantic relationships among spatially adjacent regions. Additionally, we introduce a Mamba block based on state-space models to model global spatial semantics in urban regions. Finally, we propose a MambaLSTM unit to efficiently capture long- and short-term temporal dependencies for identifying dynamic risk patterns. Extensive experiments on real-world datasets demonstrate the proposed model's superiority over state-of-the-art methods. The code is released at https://github.com/Zhenzovo/MambaLSTM.

MambaPSA: A Mamba-based Replacement for C2PSA in YOLO26

State space models (SSMs), notably Mamba, have recently emerged as efficient alternatives to self-attention with linear computational complexity. We investigate the integration of Mamba into YOLO26, the latest non-maximum suppression (NMS)-free object detection framework, by proposing MambaPSA, a lightweight Mamba-based replacement for the C2PSA block at the end of the backbone. To complement this study, we additionally insert a bidirectional Vision Mamba (BiViM) module at the P3, P4, and P5 levels of the neck. Experiments on PASCAL VOC 2007+2012 show that MambaPSA reduces parameters by 2.9%, FLOPs by 12.1%, and improves CPU inference throughput by 17.6% (from 17 to 20 FPS) with negligible accuracy change (-0.1 mAP50:95), while the P4 BiViM placement yields the best accuracy gain (+0.9 mAP50:95). These results suggest that SSMs offer a favorable efficiency-accuracy trade-off when replacing attention-based blocks in NMS-free lightweight detectors.

Uncertainty-Aware Velocity Correction for Proprioceptive Vehicle Localization using Evidential Mamba

Reliable localization in GNSS-denied environments remains a fundamental challenge for intelligent vehicles, as inertial navigation systems accumulate unbounded drift without external correction. Existing approaches provide drift correction through dedicated infrastructure, expensive external sensors, or complex multi-sensor fusion, each introducing practical deployment barriers. We propose Evidential Velocity Correction using Mamba (EVC-Mamba), a learning-based architecture that transforms onboard vehicle sensor data into a virtual velocity sensor for IMU drift correction without additional hardware. A Mamba-based selective state space model captures the temporal dynamics of vehicle motion, while evidential deep learning with a Normal-Inverse-Gamma distribution provides principled uncertainty quantification. The resulting uncertainty-aware velocity estimate is incorporated as a virtual correction measurement into an Error-State Extended Kalman Filter to reduce position drift. Evaluation on real-world vehicle data demonstrates that inertial navigation using the proposed velocity correction achieves localization accuracy within 10% of a dedicated external velocity sensor across different outage durations. The proposed architecture supports real-time onboard deployment at 40 Hz on edge hardware, enabling reliable localization during prolonged GNSS outages.

MambaRefine-CD: MambaVision with Region-Boundary Temporal Refinement

Binary change detection in remote sensing requires both complete changed-region localization and accurate boundary delineation. We present MambaRefine-CD, a region-boundary temporal refinement framework built on a shared MambaVision encoder. The proposed D-RBI module constructs temporal evidence from paired features, absolute differences, and signed differences, then separates it into region and Sobel-conditioned boundary streams. Region features are enhanced with CRAM-lite and decoded by an adaptive receptive-field FPN, while the finest boundary stream guides a bounded residual refinement of the coarse prediction. Experiments on DSIFN-CD and WHU-CD show strong changed-class F1 and IoU under verified evaluation settings, and ablations support the contribution of signed temporal evidence and the full region-boundary refinement pipeline.

MambaLIE: Scene Light Intensity-Boosted Low-Light Image Enhancement with State Space Model

Images captured by consumer electronic devices, such as mobile phones and digital cameras, often suffer from low-light degradation due to sensor limitations and imaging pipelines, which degrades visual quality and affects downstream vision tasks. Existing methods based on Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and Transformers have dominated current low-light image enhancement (LIE) due to their excellent ability to model hierarchical features. However, CNNs operate in local receptive fields that cannot model long-range dependencies, while Transformers overcome this problem but incur substantial computational costs. To address these challenges, we propose MambaLIE, a Scene Light Intensity-Boosted Low-Light Image Enhancement method based on a State Space Model (SSM). We first introduce scene light intensity to improve the structural distribution of illumination, which is then gated with the low-light input to guide enhancement. To better model the illumination while maintaining computational efficiency, we propose the Locally Enhanced State Space Model (LESSM) for efficient light enhancement. Our LESSM contains two branches: an SSM branch and a Local Enhanced branch, where the former is used to model the long-range dependencies with linear time complexity, while the latter is used to enhance local feature representations. Extensive experiments demonstrate that MambaLIE outperforms state-of-the-art CNN-based and Transformer-based LIE methods on four widely used synthetic benchmarks and five publicly available real-world benchmarks in terms of accuracy, speed, and model size, making it suitable for practical deployment on resource-constrained devices.

Training Hybrid Block Diffusion Language Models with Partial Bidirectionality

High-throughput long-context generation is one of the central challenges for large language models. Generation is typically memory-bandwidth-bound rather than compute-bound: each decoding step must stream the accumulated key/value (KV) cache from memory, so bandwidth demand grows with context length while only one token is emitted. Two parallel approaches have therefore emerged: reducing memory access with efficient attention variants and linear-time mixers such as Mamba, or increasing parallel computation by generating blocks of tokens at once. However, technical challenges arise when combining these two ideas. Earlier hybrid diffusion models such as DiffuMamba use bidirectional Mamba mixing, including a reverse-direction scan relative to causal generation. This reverse scan needs to scan the entire sequence, so its states are not prefix-only and cannot be precisely reused as a cache even when diffusion is performed block by block. We propose a BDLM Mamba--attention hybrid that addresses this challenge by restricting the reverse Mamba scan to the active denoising block, which enables exact caching across blocks. In an 87M-parameter DCLM sweep, BDLM Mamba-H achieves the best C4-en validation perplexity compared to BDLM attention and full-sequence baselines. At 350M parameters, it remains competitive with BDLM attention. For long-context inference, BDLM Mamba-H reaches 19.7x the throughput of full-sequence DiffuMamba-H at 65K tokens and 3.7x the throughput of BDLM attention at 262K, showing that Mamba hybrids are a potential long-context diffusion architecture.

Building an ASR Solution for Training and Assessing Children's Reading

Automatic speech recognition for children's reading remains underdeveloped for most African languages, including Bambara, despite its potential value for reproducible literacy assessment. We present an open-source system for assessing children's reading in Bambara, developed through an end-to-end process linking field data collection, benchmark construction, model adaptation, a reading application, and classroom validation. A mobile collection and assessment app was used to collect 55 hours of raw reading speech from 60 children, from which we construct a public benchmark for Bambara child-reading assessment. Fine-tuning experiments compare Soloni, a Bambara-adapted Fast-Conformer ASR framework with TDT and CTC decoders, with QuartzNet, a compact convolutional ASR architecture. The best Soloni model reduces WER from 0.42 to 0.22 and CER from 0.15 to 0.08, substantially outperforming QuartzNet on the isolated benchmark. The experiments further show that repeated readings of the same texts provide architecture-dependent benefits: they substantially improve QuartzNet but add only marginal gains for Soloni, while SpecAugment regulates training without exceeding the best unaugmented configuration. Disaggregated analysis identifies children under 10 as the main source of residual errors, motivating targeted collection from younger readers. Ten classroom trials supported continued use of the application.

MambaRaw: Selective State Space Modeling for Efficient 4K Raw Image Reconstruction

In-camera JPEG previews are ubiquitous in raw image formats and provide an sRGB reference at negligible storage cost. Although existing metadata-based reconstruction frameworks can exploit this side information when recovering raw images, their context models often become computationally expensive especially at high resolution, eg, 4K raw image, given that attention mechanisms scale quadratically with feature maps, hindering its practical application. To address these limitations, we propose MambaRaw, a JPEG-conditioned metadata-based raw image reconstruction framework that uses State Space Models (SSMs) to estimate entropy parameters efficiently. Our key contribution comprises a Spatial-Energy Coupled Context Modeling mechanism with two lightweight modules: (1) TileMambaBlock, which performs Mamba-style selective scanning only on information-dense tiles to improve the efficiency; and (2) Energy-Aware Refinement (EAR), an identity-initialized residual module that enhance feature representation to match the long-tail energy distribution of raw signals. Extensive experiments on three camera datasets (Sony, Olympus, Samsung) show consistent improvements over strong metadata-based baselines and set a new state of the art for JPEG-guided raw reconstruction with great efficiency. Notably, at low metadata bitrates, MambaRaw increases PSNR by 1.2--1.4 dB and reduces end-to-end coding latency by about 9%. Code is released at https://github.com/Peizeli1/MambaRaw.

Ternary Mamba: Grouped Quantization-Aware Training of W1.58A16 State Space Models

State Space Models (SSMs) such as Mamba-2 offer linear-time inference but their memory footprint limits edge deployment. Prior ternary SSM work (Slender-Mamba) trains from scratch on 150B tokens; we show a pretrained checkpoint suffices, reducing the marginal token budget by 1,000x. Using grouped quantization-aware training (QAT) with knowledge distillation from a frozen FP16 teacher, we compress Mamba-2 1.3B to 3.61x (2,687 to 744 MB) and achieve 48.1% zero-shot accuracy (7-task average) in just 102M tokens (4 GPU-hours, single H100) -- approaching Bi-Mamba's 48.4% (within +/-0.9pp CI). This QAT-from-pretrained setting reveals zero-ratio collapse, a novel instability caused by learnable quantization scales that does not arise in from-scratch training. We further show that post-hoc correction strategies effective for Transformers fail for SSMs due to error accumulation through the recurrence. These results demonstrate that ternary SSMs do not require expensive from-scratch training: QAT from pretrained checkpoints with KD is a data-efficient alternative.

MambaCount: Efficient Text-guided Open-vocabulary Object Counting with Spatial Sparse State Space Duality Block

Text-guided Open-vocabulary Object Counting (TOOC) aims to estimate the number of objects described by text prompts, which is particularly challenging in dense scenes with large scale variations. Existing TOOC approaches predominantly rely on Transformers, whose quadratic complexity with respect to image resolution limits their scalability. Mamba offers a promising alternative due to its linear complexity. However, previous Mamba-based methods have two main limitations. On the one hand, the inherent causal formulation of Mamba constrains the bidirectional spatial dependency modeling required by non-causal vision tasks. On the other hand, existing Mamba-based vision models often overlook the unconstrained high entropy in the spatial token responses, which can weaken local details and high-frequency cues. To address these limitations, we propose MambaCount, an efficient framework built on the Spatial Sparse State Space Duality (S^4D) block. Specifically, we analyze and reconstruct the decay dynamics of hidden states in Mamba to alleviate the dependency constraints introduced by causal modeling. Moreover, we introduce a Spatial Token Selection (STS) sub-block to reduce the unconstrained high entropy in spatial token responses within Mamba. In addition, we design Multi-Granularity Prototypes (MGP) to identify object-like regions at different semantic levels, improving cross-modal alignment and interpretability. Extensive experiments on FSC-147 demonstrate that MambaCount achieves state-of-the-art performance among methods without secondary querying, obtaining a test MAE of 12.23, while retaining linear complexity.

C-MambaPose: A Physics-Informed Complex Mamba Framework for Cross-Environment WiFi Human Pose Estimation

Human pose estimation (HPE) utilizing wireless WiFi signals has emerged as a promising technology owing to its device-free nature, privacy preservation, and robustness against occlusion and poor lighting. However, existing methods often overlook the physical complex phase information of WiFi signals and fail to generalize across diverse environments due to severe domain shifts. In this paper, we present C-MambaPose, a physics-informed complex-valued Mamba-GraFormer hybrid framework for robust cross-environment WiFi-based 3D HPE. Our framework first sanitizes raw WiFi Channel State Information (CSI) phase errors and constructs a phase-preserving complex-valued representation. We then employ a Spatiotemporal Complex Mamba encoder with a dynamic selective receptive field to capture fine-grained phase dynamics. A cross-attention joint-query mapper maps the unstructured sequence tokens to human joints, which are decoded by a Graph Convolutional Network (GCN) to predict anatomically coherent 3D coordinates. Extensive evaluations on the MM-Fi dataset show that C-MambaPose achieves competitive or superior performance to state-of-the-art baselines across all settings, setting a new state-of-the-art specifically on the challenging cross-environment split, requiring only 3.78 M parameters-an 83.1% reduction compared to GraphPose-Fi~\cite{chen2026graph} and an 85.7% reduction compared to MetaFi++\cite{zhou2023metafi++}, while maintaining a comparable size to DT-Pose\cite{chen2025towards} (which is only 18% smaller) but achieving significantly superior performance without requiring any pretraining. SFMambaNet: Spectral-Frequency Enhanced Selective State Space Model for Correspondence Pruning

Correspondence pruning aims to identify inliers from an initial set of correspondences. Most existing Graph Neural Network (GNN)-based methods rely on geometric features mapped from coarse Euclidean coordinates, which struggle to capture the subtle geometric consistencies presented by inliers. While Mamba-based methods possess global receptive fields and long sequence modeling capabilities, they tend to accumulate substantial inconsistent features within the hidden state space, making it difficult to distinguish inliers from outliers. In this paper, we integrate frequency domain perception into this task for the first time and propose SFMambaNet, a novel Spectral-Frequency enhanced Mamba-based two-view correspondence pruning network. Our method is collaboratively composed of two components: First, we design a Local Spectral-Geometric Attention (LSGA) block. LSGA incorporates spectral positional encoding into local graph interactions and introduces multi-scale Mamba processing to enhance the capture of subtle geometric consistencies and improve local feature discriminability. Building upon this, we design a Spectral-Integrated Global Mamba (SIGM) block. SIGM embeds a frequency gating mechanism within the state space, utilizing the frequency information provided by LSGA to explicitly suppress high-frequency noise accumulation within hidden states and mitigate the propagation of inconsistent features. This enhances inlier-outlier separability and achieves robust global context modeling capabilities with nearly linear complexity. Extensive experiments demonstrate that SFMambaNet outperforms current state-of-the-art methods on several challenging tasks. The code is available at https://github.com/Kirito14IT/SFMambaNet.

BiSegMamba: Efficient Bidirectional Tri-Oriented Mamba for 3D Medical Image Segmentation

Accurate 3D medical image segmentation requires both long-range volumetric context and fine boundary preservation. CNN-based methods have limited global dependency modeling, while Transformer-based models are often computationally expensive for dense 3D inputs. Recent Mamba-based methods provide an efficient alternative, but existing volumetric designs still depend on repeated high-resolution scanning, forward-only sequential modeling, and fixed directional summation, causing high cost, scan-order bias, and suboptimal directional aggregation. We propose BiSegMamba, an efficient bidirectional tri-oriented Mamba network for 3D medical image segmentation. BiSegMamba follows a compact-to-detail design, where a progressive compacting stem (PCS) enables efficient latent-space reasoning while retaining shallow high-resolution features for reconstruction. A multi-scale spatial mixer (MSSM) captures local anatomical patterns in early stages, and the proposed bidirectional tri-oriented Ortho Mamba (Bi-ToOM) block models long-range dependencies from multiple orthogonal views using jointly processed forward and backward scan sequences. Adaptive directional fusion (ADF) learns input-dependent channel-wise weights across scan orientations, replacing fixed summation with orientation-aware fusion. Experiments on a collected carotid CTA dataset and three public benchmarks, BraTS2023, ACDC, and AMOS-CT, show that BiSegMamba generalizes well across vascular, cardiac, brain tumor, and abdominal multi-organ segmentation tasks. Compared with SegMamba-V2, BiSegMamba achieves slightly better performance on BraTS2023 and clear improvements on ACDC and the carotid dataset, while reducing computational cost by up to 77.9% FLOPs, demonstrating a strong accuracy-efficiency balance for general 3D medical image segmentation.

NL-MambaXCT: Self-Supervised Nested-Learning Mamba for Nomex Honeycomb X-ray CT Defect Classification

X-ray computed tomography (XCT) is widely used for non-destructive testing of Nomex honeycomb structures in aerospace manufacturing, but industrial inspection still relies heavily on manual interpretation and supervised models trained on limited labeled data. This work introduces NL-MambaXCT, a Mamba-based framework that combines self-supervised masked image modelling with a Nested Learning (NL) formulation for automated, label-efficient defect classification from production XCT slices. The backbone is a four-stage 2D encoder with RegNet convolutional blocks in the early stages and Mamba-based sequence mixing with attention in the deeper stages. It is pretrained by masked image modelling on 19,961 unlabeled industrial XCT slices and fine-tuned on 2,000 relabeled Nomex XCT slices split by production order. NL is instantiated through two-timescale parameter dynamics: selected projections maintain slow exponential-moving-average traces alongside fast weights, while a deep-momentum optimizer introduces an additional slow parameter-update trajectory. On the held-out test set, the MIM-pretrained NL-MambaXCT model achieves 96.91% accuracy and 96.8% macro F1, outperforming CNN, attention, and single-timescale Mamba baselines by 3.11--10.31 percentage points in accuracy. The results suggest that combining masked self-supervision with NL-style fast/ slow learning dynamics is a promising strategy for robust defect classification in Nomex honeycomb XCT inspection.

MedMamba: Multi-View State Space Models with Adaptive Graph Learning for Medical Time Series Classification

Medical time series are central to healthcare, enabling continuous monitoring and supporting timely clinical decisions. Despite recent progress, existing methods struggle to jointly model local-global dynamics and handle nonstationarities like baseline drift, while often failing to capture latent channel interactions. To address these challenges, we propose MedMamba, an end-to-end architecture that integrates state space models with domain-specific inductive biases. Specifically, MedMamba first employs multi-scale convolutional embeddings to capture discriminative local morphology. Second, to mitigate nonstationarity, we introduce a tri-branch differential state space encoder that processes raw, temporal-difference, and frequency-domain views, fusing them to emphasize informative patterns while suppressing drift. Furthermore, to uncover latent channel correlations, we design a spatial graph Mamba module that learns a directed dependency structure regularized toward sparsity and acyclicity, which obviates the need for predefined graphs. Extensive experiments on five real-world datasets demonstrate that MedMamba achieves state-of-the-art performance while maintaining linear computational complexity, and ablation studies validate each component's contribution.Code is available at https://github.com/zhangda1018/MedMamba.

MambaGaze: Bidirectional Mamba with Explicit Missing Data Modeling for Cognitive Load Assessment from Eye-Gaze Tracking Data

Real-time cognitive load assessment from eye-tracking signals could enable adaptive human-centered AI in safety-critical applications such as driver vigilance monitoring or automated flight deck assistance, yet two challenges persist: handling frequent data missingness from blinks and tracking failures, and efficiently modeling long-range temporal dependencies. We propose MambaGaze (Bi-Mamba), a framework that addresses these challenges through (1)~XMD encoding, which augments raw features with observation masks and time-deltas to explicitly model data uncertainty, and (2)~bidirectional Mamba-2, which captures temporal dependencies with linear computational complexity. Experiments on CLARE and CL-Drive datasets under leave-one-subject-out evaluation show that MambaGaze achieves 77.1% accuracy and 59.2% macro-F1 on CLARE, and 69.4% accuracy and 51.5% macro-F1 on CL-Drive, attaining the highest average LOSO macro-F1 (55.3%) across all ten compared models. Input-stream ablation indicates that log-scaled time-deltas are the strongest single channel in our setting, and combining all three XMD streams provides consistent gains of 5--20,pp macro-F1. Edge deployment benchmarks on three NVIDIA Jetson Orin platforms show real-time inference at 27--36,FPS with power consumption below 6.6,W, supporting feasibility for embedded cognitive load monitoring.

HexagonalWarriorMamba: Superior Threshold-Dependent Multi-label Classification of 12-Lead ECG Cardiac Abnormalities

The accurate automated diagnosis of cardiac abnormalities from 12-lead electrocardiograms (ECGs) is critical for managing cardiovascular disease. However, detecting concurrent conditions remains a challenge for traditional deep learning models, which often have limited ability to model the long-range dependencies inherent in ECG signals. This manuscript proposes HexagonalWarriorMamba (HWMamba), a framework built on the Mamba architecture that processes 12-lead ECGs as single-channel 2D images rather than conventional 1D time series. By integrating a hierarchical architecture with a 2D Selective Scan mechanism, HWMamba is designed to model global context and complex spatial relationships within the data. The model is evaluated on the PhysioNet/Computing in Cardiology Challenge 2021 dataset, which includes 26 diagnostic labels and comprises recordings collected from seven institutions across four countries and three continents. Results demonstrate that HWMamba outperforms current state-of-the-art (SOTA) methods across five key threshold-dependent metrics, including Challenge Score and Subset Accuracy. These improvements provide a balance between strong discriminative capability and effective threshold selection derived from the training data, while maintaining near-SOTA performance in Macro AUROC. This Hexagonal Warrior performance, reflecting consistent performance across multiple evaluation dimensions, positions HWMamba as a robust and versatile approach for multi-label ECG classification.

MambaRain: Multi-Scale Mamba-Attention Framework for 0-3 Hour Precipitation Nowcasting

Accurate precipitation nowcasting over extended horizons (0-3 hours) is essential for disaster mitigation and operational decision-making, yet remains a critical challenge in the field. Existing deterministic approaches are predominantly constrained to shorter prediction windows (0-2 hours), exhibiting severe performance degradation beyond 90 minutes owing to their inherent difficulty in capturing long-range spatiotemporal dependencies from radar-derived observations. To address these fundamental limitations, we propose MambaRain, a novel multi-scale encoder-decoder architecture that synergistically integrates Mamba's linear-complexity long-range temporal modeling with self-attention mechanisms for explicit spatial correlation capture. The core innovation lies in a hybrid design paradigm wherein Mamba blocks leverage selective state space mechanisms to model global temporal dynamics across extended sequences with computational efficiency, while self-attention modules explicitly characterize spatial correlations within precipitation fields - a capability inherently absent in Mamba's sequential processing paradigm. This complementary synergy enables comprehensive spatiotemporal representation learning, effectively extending the viable forecasting horizon to 2-3 hours with substantial accuracy improvements. Furthermore, we introduce a spectral loss formulation to mitigate blurring artifacts characteristic of chaotic precipitation systems, thereby preserving fine-scale motion details critical for nowcasting accuracy. Experimental validation demonstrates that MambaRain substantially outperforms existing deterministic methodologies in 0-3 hour nowcasting tasks, with particularly pronounced performance gains in the challenging 2-3 hour prediction range.

EmambaIR: Efficient Visual State Space Model for Event-guided Image Reconstruction

Recent event-based image reconstruction methods predominantly rely on Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and Vision Transformers (ViTs) to process complementary event information. However, these architectures face fundamental limitations: CNNs often fail to capture global feature correlations, whereas ViTs incur quadratic computational complexity (e.g., O(n2)O(n^2)), hindering their application in high-resolution scenarios. To address these bottlenecks, we introduce EmambaIR, an Efficient visual State Space Model designed for image reconstruction using spatially sparse and temporally continuous event streams. Our framework introduces two key components: the cross-modal Top-k Sparse Attention Module (TSAM) and the Gated State-Space Module (GSSM). TSAM efficiently performs pixel-level top-k sparse attention to guide cross-modal interactions, yielding rich yet sparse fusion features. Subsequently, GSSM utilizes a nonlinear gated unit to enhance the temporal representation of vanilla linear-complexity (O(n)O(n)) SSMs, effectively capturing global contextual dependencies without the typical computational overhead. Extensive experiments on six datasets across three diverse image reconstruction tasks - motion deblurring, deraining, and High Dynamic Range (HDR) enhancement - demonstrate that EmambaIR significantly outperforms state-of-the-art methods while offering substantial reductions in memory consumption and computational cost. Breaking Spatial Uniformity: Prior-Guided Mamba with Radial Serialization for Lens Flare Removal

Lens flares, caused by complex optical aberrations, severely degrade image quality especially in nighttime photography. Although recent restoration methods have made remarkable progress, most still rely on spatially uniform processing. They are failing to handle the region-dependent restoration demands of flare scenes, where saturated light sources should be preserved, flare artifacts removed, and background details recovered. To address this challenge, we propose DeflareMambav2, a prior-guided Mamba framework for lens flare removal. Specifically, we introduce a Flare Prior Network (FPN) to estimate flare priors and guide adaptive restoration. Besides, a novel radial serialization strategy breaks spatially homogeneous processing by performing flare-aware targeted sampling, and better supports long-range modeling in State Space Models (SSMs). Based on these priors, the backbone adopts a dual-level adaptive scheme. It explicitly preserves light-source regions to avoid over-processing, and applies curriculum-based restoration to the remaining contaminated areas while calibrating restoration intensity at the pixel level. ImplantMamba: Long-range Sequential Modeling Mamba For Dental Implant Position Prediction

In the design of surgical guides for implant placement, determining the precise implant position is a critical step. However, the implant region itself is often characterized by a lack of distinctive texture in medical images. Consequently, artificial intelligence (AI) models must infer the correct implant position and angulation (slope) primarily by analyzing the texture of the surrounding teeth, which poses a significant challenge. To address this, we propose ImplantMamba, a network architecture designed for long-range sequential modeling to integrate texture information from adjacent teeth. Our approach explicitly couples the regression of the implant position with its slope. The core of ImplantMamba is a hybrid encoder that combines Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) with Mamba layers. This design enables the network to hierarchically extract local anatomical features through CNNs while simultaneously modeling global contextual dependencies across the entire scan volume via Mamba's selective scan operations, leading to a more comprehensive understanding of the implant site. Furthermore, we introduce a Slope-Coupled Prediction Branch (SCP). This branch is designed to connect the prediction of implant position with the slope, ensuring internal consistency and anatomical plausibility by thereby enforcing a coherent relationship between the predicted implant location and its angulation. Extensive experiments on a large-scale dental implant dataset demonstrate that the proposed ImplantMamba achieves superior performance compared to existing methods.

Rhamba: Region-Aware Hybrid Attention-Mamba Framework for Self-Supervised Learning in Resting-State fMRI

Self-supervised pretraining is promising for large-scale neuroimaging, yet the impact of region-aware masking and hybrid sequence modeling remains underexplored. In this work, we introduce Rhamba, a region-aware pretraining framework that integrates anatomically guided masking with hybrid Attention-Mamba architectures for resting state functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) analysis. Models were pretrained on the ABIDE dataset using region-aligned patch embeddings and three masking strategies (Any, Majority, and Pure) with increasing spatial specificity. We evaluated four architectural variants: a Mamba only model, an Alternate architecture with interleaved Mamba and Attention blocks, and two hybrid encoder-decoder configurations (Attention-Mamba (AM) and Mamba-Attention (MA)). The pretrained models were fine-tuned on downstream classification tasks using the COBRE and ADHD-200 datasets for schizophrenia and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder discrimination. We employed Integrated Gradients, an explainable AI method, to identify the brain regions contributing to model predictions. Masking strategy strongly influenced reconstruction behavior, with reconstruction loss following a consistent ordering (Any > Majority > Pure). However, this trend did not directly translate into downstream performance, where differences were modest and dataset-dependent. The hybrid architecture with the MA configuration achieved the highest average AUROC across both datasets, and Rhamba outperformed state-of-the-art methods in comparative evaluation. Region-wise analysis showed that peak performance depends on the interaction between masking strategy and architecture rather than a single dominant configuration. Overall, Rhamba offers a flexible framework for balancing interpretability, scalability, and performance in large-scale fMRI representation learning.

TopoMamba: Topology-Aware Scanning and Fusion for Segmenting Heterogeneous Medical Visual Media

Visual state-space models (SSMs) have shown strong potential for medical image segmentation, yet their effectiveness is often limited by two practical issues: axis-biased scan ordering weakens the modeling of oblique and curved structures, and naive multi-branch fusion tends to amplify redundant responses. We present TopoMamba, a topology-aware scan-and-fuse framework for segmenting heterogeneous medical visual media. The method combines a diagonal/anti-diagonal TopoA-Scan branch with the standard Cross-Scan branch to provide complementary structural priors, and introduces ScanCache, a device-aware caching mechanism that amortizes explicit scan-index construction across recurring resolutions. To fuse heterogeneous scan features efficiently, we further propose a lightweight HSIC Gate that regulates branch interaction using a dependence-aware scalar gating rule. We also instantiate a volumetric TopoMamba-3D for practical 3D clinical segmentation. Experiments on Synapse CT, ISIC 2017 dermoscopy, and CVC-ClinicDB endoscopy show that TopoMamba consistently improves segmentation quality over strong CNN, Transformer, and SSM baselines, with particularly clear gains on thin or curved targets such as the pancreas and gallbladder, while maintaining favorable deployment efficiency under dynamic input resolutions. These results suggest that topology-aware scan ordering and lightweight dependence-aware fusion form an effective and practical design for medical multimedia segmentation. The code will be made publicly available.

MambaCSP: Hybrid-Attention State Space Models for Hardware-Efficient Channel State Prediction

Recent works have demonstrated that attention-based transformer and large language model (LLM) architectures can achieve strong channel state prediction (CSP) performance by capturing long-range temporal dependencies across channel state information (CSI) sequences. However, these models suffer from quadratic scaling in sequence length, leading to substantial computational cost, memory consumption, and inference latency, which limits their applicability in real-time and resource-constrained wireless deployments. In this paper, we investigate whether selective state space models (SSMs) can serve as a hardware-efficient alternative for CSI prediction. We propose MambaCSP, a hybrid-attention SSM architecture that replaces LLM-based prediction backbones with a linear-time Mamba model. To overcome the local-only dependencies of pure SSMs, we introduce lightweight patch-mixer attention layers that periodically inject cross-token attentions, helping with long-context CSI prediction. Extensive MISO-OFDM simulations show that MambaCSP improves prediction accuracy over LLM-based approaches by 9-12%, while delivering up to 3.0x higher throughput, 2.6x lower VRAM usage, and 2.9x faster inference. Our results demonstrate that hybrid state space architectures provide a promising direction for scalable and hardware-efficient AI-native CSI prediction in future wireless networks.

MambaLiteUNet: Cross-Gated Adaptive Feature Fusion for Robust Skin Lesion Segmentation

Recent segmentation models have demonstrated promising efficiency by aggressively reducing parameter counts and computational complexity. However, these models often struggle to accurately delineate fine lesion boundaries and texture patterns essential for early skin cancer diagnosis and treatment planning. In this paper, we propose MambaLiteUNet, a compact yet robust segmentation framework that integrates Mamba state space modeling into a U-Net architecture, along with three key modules: Adaptive Multi-Branch Mamba Feature Fusion (AMF), Local-Global Feature Mixing (LGFM), and Cross-Gated Attention (CGA). These modules are designed to enhance local-global feature interaction, preserve spatial details, and improve the quality of skip connections. MambaLiteUNet achieves an average IoU of 87.12% and average Dice score of 93.09% across ISIC2017, ISIC2018, HAM10000, and PH2 benchmarks, outperforming state-of-the-art models. Compared to U-Net, our model improves average IoU and Dice by 7.72 and 4.61 points, respectively, while reducing parameters by 93.6% and GFLOPs by 97.6%. Additionally, in domain generalization with six unseen lesion categories, MambaLiteUNet achieves 77.61% IoU and 87.23% Dice, performing best among all evaluated models. Our extensive experiments demonstrate that MambaLiteUNet achieves a strong balance between accuracy and efficiency, making it a competitive and practical solution for dermatological image segmentation. Hero-Mamba: Mamba-based Dual Domain Learning for Underwater Image Enhancement

Underwater images often suffer from severe degradation, such as color distortion, low contrast, and blurred details, due to light absorption and scattering in water. While learning-based methods like CNNs and Transformers have shown promise, they face critical limitations: CNNs struggle to model the long-range dependencies needed for non-uniform degradation, and Transformers incur quadratic computational complexity, making them inefficient for high-resolution images. To address these challenges, we propose Hero-Mamba, a novel Mamba-based network that achieves efficient dual-domain learning for underwater image enhancement. Our approach uniquely processes information from both the spatial domain (RGB image) and the spectral domain (FFT components) in parallel. This dual-domain input allows the network to decouple degradation factors, separating color/brightness information from texture/noise. The core of our network utilizes Mamba-based SS2D blocks to capture global receptive fields and long-range dependencies with linear complexity, overcoming the limitations of both CNNs and Transformers. Furthermore, we introduce a ColorFusion block, guided by a background light prior, to restore color information with high fidelity. Extensive experiments on the LSUI and UIEB benchmark datasets demonstrate that Hero-Mamba outperforms state-of-the-art methods. Notably, our model achieves a PSNR of 25.802 and an SSIM of 0.913 on LSUI, validating its superior performance and generalization capabilities.

MambaKick: Early Penalty Direction Prediction from HAR Embeddings

Penalty kicks in soccer are decided under extreme time constraints, where goalkeepers benefit from anticipating shot direction from the kickers motion before or around ball contact. In this paper, MambaKick is presented as a learning-based framework for penalty direction prediction that leverages pretrained human action recognition (HAR) embeddings extracted from contact-centered short video segments and combines them with a lightweight temporal predictor. Rather than relying on explicit kinematic reconstruction or handcrafted biomechanical features, the approach reuses transferable spatiotemporal representations and utilizes selective state-spare models (Mamba) for efficient sequence aggregation. Simple contextual metadata (e.g., field side and footedness) are also considered as complementary cues that may reduce ambiguity in real-world footage. Across a range of HAR backbones, MambaKick consistently improves or matches strong embedding baselines, achieving up to 53.1% accuracy for three classes and 64.5% for two classes under the proposed methodology. Overall, the results indicate that combining pretrained HAR representations with efficient state-space temporal modeling is a practical direction for low-latency intention prediction in real-world sports video. MambaBack: Bridging Local Features and Global Contexts in Whole Slide Image Analysis

Whole Slide Image (WSI) analysis is pivotal in computational pathology, enabling cancer diagnosis by integrating morphological and architectural cues across magnifications. Multiple Instance Learning (MIL) serves as the standard framework for WSI analysis. Recently, Mamba has become a promising backbone for MIL, overtaking Transformers due to its efficiency and global context modeling capabilities originating from Natural Language Processing (NLP). However, existing Mamba-based MIL approaches face three critical challenges: (1) disruption of 2D spatial locality during 1D sequence flattening; (2) sub-optimal modeling of fine-grained local cellular structures; and (3) high memory peaks during inference on resource-constrained edge devices. Studies like MambaOut reveal that Mamba's SSM component is redundant for local feature extraction, where Gated CNNs suffice. Recognizing that WSI analysis demands both fine-grained local feature extraction akin to natural images, and global context modeling akin to NLP, we propose MambaBack, a novel hybrid architecture that harmonizes the strengths of Mamba and MambaOut. First, we propose the Hilbert sampling strategy to preserve the 2D spatial locality of tiles within 1D sequences, enhancing the model's spatial perception. Second, we design a hierarchical structure comprising a 1D Gated CNN block based on MambaOut to capture local cellular features, and a BiMamba2 block to aggregate global context, jointly enhancing multi-scale representation. Finally, we implement an asymmetric chunking design, allowing parallel processing during training and chunking-streaming accumulation during inference, minimizing peak memory usage for deployment. Experimental results on five datasets demonstrate that MambaBack outperforms seven state-of-the-art methods. Source code and datasets are publicly available.

MedMamba: Recasting Mamba for Medical Time Series Classification

Medical time series, such as electrocardiograms (ECG) and electroencephalograms (EEG), exhibit complex temporal dynamics and structured cross-channel dependencies, posing fundamental challenges for automated analysis. Conventional convolutional and recurrent models struggle to capture long-range dependencies, while Transformer-based approaches incur quadratic complexity and often introduce redundant interactions that are misaligned with the intrinsic structure of physiological signals. To address these limitations, we propose MedMamba, a principle-driven multi-scale bidirectional state space architecture tailored for medical time series classification. Our design is guided by three key inductive biases of physiological signals: spatial centralization, multi-timescale temporal composition, and non-causal contextual dependency. These principles are instantiated through a lightweight channel-mixing module for cross-channel reparameterization, multi-scale convolutional tokenization for temporal decomposition, and bidirectional Mamba blocks for efficient global context modeling with linear complexity. Extensive experiments on six benchmark datasets spanning EEG, ECG, and human activity signals demonstrate that MedMamba consistently outperforms state-of-the-art methods across diverse modalities. Notably, it achieves 85.97% accuracy on PTB and establishes new state-of-the-art performance on the challenging ADFTD dataset (54.72% accuracy and 52.01% F1-score). Strong results on long-sequence benchmarks, such as SleepEDF, further validate its capability in modeling long-range dependencies. Moreover, MedMamba achieves a speedup of 4.6x in inference, highlighting its practicality for real-time clinical deployment. These results suggest that principle-guided state space modeling offers an effective and scalable alternative to Transformer-based approaches for medical time series analysis.

MambaSL: Exploring Single-Layer Mamba for Time Series Classification

Despite recent advances in state space models (SSMs) such as Mamba across various sequence domains, research on their standalone capacity for time series classification (TSC) has remained limited. We propose MambaSL, a framework that minimally redesigns the selective SSM and projection layers of a single-layer Mamba, guided by four TSC-specific hypotheses. To address benchmarking limitations -- restricted configurations, partial University of East Anglia (UEA) dataset coverage, and insufficiently reproducible setups -- we re-evaluate 20 strong baselines across all 30 UEA datasets under a unified protocol. As a result, MambaSL achieves state-of-the-art performance with statistically significant average improvements, while ensuring reproducibility via public checkpoints for all evaluated models. Together with visualizations, these results demonstrate the potential of Mamba-based architectures as a TSC backbone.
