InvSplat: Inverse Feed-Forward Scene Splatting

Inverse rendering aims to recover both 3D geometry and physically meaningful material properties from images, enabling applications such as relighting and novel view synthesis. Optimization-based methods achieve high fidelity but require costly per-scene fitting, while image-space learning-based approaches often suffer from multi-view inconsistencies and lack an explicit 3D representation for stable novel view rendering. We present a feed-forward multi-view reconstruction framework for inverse rendering that directly predicts a structured 3D Gaussian representation with intrinsic material attributes. Each Gaussian primitive is parameterized by mean, normal, opacity, rotation, scale, albedo, metallic, and roughness, enabling a disentangled and physically grounded scene representation. Our model integrates priors from a material estimation network with a multi-view 3D reconstruction backbone, allowing joint prediction of geometry and reflectance parameters in a single forward pass. Experiments on synthetic and real-world datasets demonstrate improved multi-view consistency compared to 2D baselines, accurate material recovery, and stable novel view rendering. Our representation further supports physically-based relighting and more faithful modeling of view-dependent effects compared to existing RGB-based feed-forward reconstruction methods. Personalized 4D Whole-Heart Mesh Reconstruction from Cine MRI via Multi-Scale Temporal Modeling and Differentiable Contour Rendering

Accurate 4D whole-heart mesh reconstruction from sparse cine MRI is critical for creating cardiac digital twins, but remains challenging due to limited 2D slice coverage and the complex coupling between cardiac shape and motion. Existing methods often rely on intermediate contour fitting and typically reconstruct static, single-phase, or partial cardiac geometries, limiting their ability to capture full-chamber dynamics. We propose a novel end-to-end framework for reconstructing temporally resolved whole-heart meshes from multi-view 2D cine MRI sequences by learning an image-to-mesh mapping. The framework incorporates a differentiable contour renderer inspired by the Beer-Lambert attenuation principle, enabling anatomy-aware supervision of 3D+t mesh deformation through contour-based projection losses. To improve temporal consistency across the cardiac cycle, we further introduce a multi-scale temporal modeling module that integrates global cycle-level dynamics with local inter-frame coherence to generate smooth and physiologically plausible mesh trajectories. The proposed method achieved a whole-heart mean absolute error of 1.68 ±\pm 0.31 mm and a motion jitter of 0.77 ±\pm 0.17 mm/frame3\mathrm{mm}/\mathrm{frame}^{3}, outperforming existing methods with lower reconstruction error and substantially improved motion smoothness. It also improved 2D contour alignment across multiple cine MRI views and supported downstream proof-of-concept electrophysiological simulation. The code will be released publicly upon acceptance of the manuscript for publication.

Diversity-aware View Partitioning for Scalable VGGT

Geometry transformers such as VGGT achieve strong performance by jointly reasoning over multiple views with global attention. However, scaling them to large view collections remains challenging due to the quadratic cost of attention. Moreover, our empirical analysis reveals that the reconstruction quality in VGGT is sensitive to the distribution of viewpoints. Simply increasing the number of views without sufficient viewpoint diversity can even degrade performance, as redundant views introduce highly similar tokens that dilute informative geometric signals in the attention mechanism. Motivated by this observation, we propose a training-free and plug-and-play VGGT inference framework that organizes views into diversity-aware balanced chunks. The chunks are constructed through combinatorial graph partitioning over visual dissimilarity and spatial dispersion. This view organization allows the transformer to focus attention on geometrically informative views while reducing redundant attention interactions. To estimate spatial dispersion without full pose estimation, we approximate spatial relationships via a soft pose propagation strategy based on visual similarity from a small set of seed frames. Extensive experiments demonstrate improved performance in camera pose estimation, multi-view depth prediction, and 3D reconstruction while reducing memory usage and inference latency. Our framework also complements existing VGGT variants, enabling scalable multi-view reconstruction without sacrificing geometric fidelity.

Restore3D: Breathing Life into Broken Objects with Shape and Texture Restoration

Restoring incomplete or damaged 3D objects is crucial for cultural heritage preservation, occluded object reconstruction, and artistic design. Existing methods primarily focus on geometric completion, often neglecting texture restoration and struggling with relatively complex and diverse objects. We introduce Restore3D, a novel framework that simultaneously restores both the shape and texture of broken objects using multi-view images. To address limited training data, we develop an automated data generation pipeline that synthesizes paired incomplete-complete samples from large-scale 3D datasets. Central to Restore3D is a multi-view model, enhanced by a carefully designed Mask Self-Perceiver module with a Depth-Aware Mask Rectifier. The rectified masks learned by the self-perceiver guide an image integration and enhancement phase, helping retain observed shape and texture patterns while refining the generated regions and mitigating the low-resolution limitations of the base model, yielding high-resolution, semantically coherent, and view-consistent multi-view images. A coarse-to-fine reconstruction strategy is then employed to recover detailed textured 3D meshes from refined multi-view images. Experiments on synthetic and real broken-object benchmarks show that Restore3D improves multi-view restoration quality and textured-mesh reconstruction over representative inpainting, completion, and reconstruction baselines in the evaluated settings. EO-VGGT: Orbital Ray-Conditioned 3D Foundation Models for Satellite Multi-View Reconstruction

In the era of satellite constellations, multi-view optical satellite imagery is pivotal for Earth Observation (EO) and high-quality Digital Surface Model (DSM) reconstruction. Although feed-forward 3D foundation models have transformed computer vision, their deployment in satellite remote sensing is inherently constrained by the structural discrepancy between implicit perspective assumptions and explicit orbital pushbroom geometry. This geometric incongruity is further compounded by pronounced view-set heterogeneity. We present EO-VGGT, a framework that adapts a frozen perspective-driven model to orbital observations via explicit physical geometry embedding.First, the Geometry-Correlation Constrained Selection (GCCS) strategy prunes sub-optimal observations by balancing geometric diversity and radiometric consistency to optimize the input sequence. Second, a Sensor-Ray Encoder (SRE) parameterizes pixel-level pushbroom lines of sight derived from the Rational Function Model (RFM) into high-dimensional space-geometric tokens, reconciling the mathematical discrepancy between central projection and orbital kinematics. Third, a lightweight Ray-Pointing-Aware Adapter (RPAA) employs gated residual blocks to integrate these tokens directly into the frozen transformer backbone. Our findings underscore that integrating explicit physical geometry with optimized view selection is essential for robust feed-forward satellite 3D reconstruction.

LIST3R: Long-sequence Instance-aware 3D Reconstruction

We present LIST3R, an instance-aware framework for long-sequence 3D reconstruction inspired by the way humans organize spatial memory around stable and recognizable objects. LIST3R organizes long-sequence reconstruction around instance anchors, using them to reconnect fragmented subsequences and consolidate local observations into a coherent global 3D scene. Given a long video, our approach partitions it into overlapping subsequences and builds a structured local instance library for each partial reconstruction, maintaining persistent trackable anchors with semantic and geometric evidence. These anchors are matched across subsequences to recover revisited regions and provide object-aware constraints for fragment alignment, producing a consistent global reconstruction. During this process, the evolving geometric evidence updates the local instance libraries and progressively organizes them into a unified global 3D instance library. Experiments on long-sequence benchmarks show that our method produces more accurate trajectories and higher-quality 3D reconstructions, highlighting the effectiveness of persistent instance anchors for organizing long-horizon 3D reconstruction. CasaMaestro: Multi-View Panoramas for House-Scale 3D Reconstruction

The rise of home-deployed embodied AI systems is driving a growing need for fast, metric 3D reconstruction of residential spaces to support navigation, interaction, and long-horizon task execution. However, the commonly used pinhole-camera 3D reconstruction pipelines struggle to model large indoor residences efficiently due to their limited field of view, to which achieving full coverage across multiple rooms often requires thousands of images and incurs drift from long chains of incremental alignment. In this work, we present CasaMaestro (Spanish words meaning house'' and master''), a feedforward model that can take only twenty to fifty sparse multi-view indoor panoramas as input and directly predicts metric depth along with camera poses, allowing fast point-cloud reconstruction of the entire house with full coverage. CasaMaestro is the first model that supports house-scale reconstruction with multi-view panoramas. Experiments show that CasaMaestro can robustly provide high quality results in both real-world and synthetic scenes, which can serve as a strong foundation for acquiring house-scale 3D indoor assets to be applied in close-loop simulation.

Scenes as Objects, Not Primitives: Instance-Structured 3D Tokenization from Unposed Views

A 3D scene is understood through its objects, not the primitives that compose them. Yet feed-forward reconstruction methods output dense, unstructured sets of points or Gaussians, leaving object-level structure to be recovered after the fact. We propose a feed-forward framework that decomposes a scene into instance-structured 3D token groups directly from unposed multi-view images -- compact object-centric units from which reconstruction, segmentation, and manipulation all follow. Each token group pairs an instance token capturing entity-level identity with anchor tokens that encode local geometry and appearance, which are decoded into a set of 3D Gaussians. This two-level factorization decouples object identity from local appearance, making object instances a native interface of the representation rather than a derived product. The token groups are learned through differentiable rendering with joint reconstruction and segmentation supervision, requiring no 3D annotations. Our feed-forward model surpasses per-scene optimization baselines in class-agnostic instance segmentation while remaining competitive in novel view synthesis. Beyond these metrics, the same token groups directly unlock instance-level scene editing -- removing, translating, or inserting objects by operating on their groups -- as well as efficient open-vocabulary 3D instance retrieval, where retrieval complexity scales with the number of instances rather than primitives.

SatSplat: Geometrically-Accurate Gaussian Splatting for Satellite Imagery

High-resolution satellite imagery demands 3D reconstruction methods that deliver both speed and geometric accuracy. Recent adaptations of 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) to satellite imagery demonstrate strong efficiency, but reconstruction quality often degrades under diverse illumination across multi-date, high-altitude acquisitions (with small intersection angles), limiting applicability to remote sensing and vision tasks. We present SatSplat, the first framework to adapt 2D Gaussian Splatting (2DGS) to satellite photogrammetry, with online camera adjustment. We approximate satellite cameras with an affine model and learn a minimal delta parameterization for in-splat camera refinement from dense observations. The formulation is implemented with a 2DGS scene representation. To handle time-varying shadows and illumination changes, we integrate geometric shadow mapping and per-camera color correction during training. Across the evaluated DFC2019 and IARPA2016 benchmark sites, SatSplat achieves strong geometric accuracy while significantly outperforming prior 3DGS-based baselines. On our processed DFC2019 benchmark, SatSplat reduces mean absolute error by 11.93% and peak video memory by 31% relative to the previous state of the art. Our approach enables large-scale digital surface modeling with practical computational efficiency. The project page is available at https://gdaosu.github.io/satsplat/.

ReScene: Structured Indoor Scene Reconstruction from Multi-View Captures

Constructing simulation-ready 3D scenes from multi-view captures is a key bottleneck for Embodied Artificial Intelligence, as downstream tasks require object-level structure, explicit inter-object relations, and physical plausibility. Existing approaches either rely on specialized capture hardware, suffer from single-view bias in object reconstruction, or yield layouts that are geometrically reasonable but physically inconsistent. We identify that the problem is not single-object reconstruction but cross-view relation fusion and physically plausible scene assembly. To address this challenge, we present ReScene, a framework that threads multi-view geometry throughout the pipeline as a unifying prior. Our method consists of two main components: HierView prioritizes reconstruction views based on semantic consistency and 3D coverage completeness, replacing the largest-mask heuristic that conflates image occupancy with object coverage; and Relation-Aware Assembly fuses multi-frame relation predictions from a vision-language model with geometric and room-shell priors into a confidence-weighted scene graph, enabling physically consistent scene assembly. ReScene sets a new state of the art across geometry, rendering, and perceptual quality on a set of ScanNet scenes, achieving a 17% reduction in Chamfer Distance and 26% in LPIPS over the strongest prior baseline, while running up to 10x faster than prior multi-view methods. Based on the reconstructed scenes, we also generate an embodied visual question answering dataset, on which fine-tuned Qwen-VL approaches the performance of strong closed-source models on several spatial reasoning tasks.

SatSplatDiff: Geometry-preserving generative refinement for high-fidelity satellite Gaussian Splatting

Gaussian Splatting has been recently explored for satellite 3D reconstruction, demonstrating flexibility and efficiency in representing radiometrically diverse satellite scenes. However, the limited top viewpoint of satellite imagery results in insufficient supervision on building facades, leaving surface holes and degraded visual fidelity. Generative refinement, which leverages pretrained generative priors to iteratively refine and update the rendered images used as supervision targets, has recently been investigated to improve the visual fidelity of Gaussian-rendered images. However, since these models refine each view independently, the resulting images can generate hallucinations and break photo-consistency, leading to geometric degradation. To address these limitations, we propose SatSplatDiff, which aims to minimize geometric degradation prevalent in generative refinement. Building on photogrammetric DSM initialization and 2DGS-based shadow casting established in our prior work SatSplat, we first introduce monocular depth supervision and multi-scale geometric refinement to establish a geometrically accurate and well-regularized surface representation. We then apply shadow-guided generative refinement, where geometrically calculated shadow maps guide the Gaussians to maintain consistency with the underlying geometry, improving visual fidelity while reducing geometric degradation. Extensive evaluations on the IARPA2016 and DFC2019 datasets demonstrate state-of-the-art performance, reducing geometric MAE by up to 18% and improving visual fidelity (FID-CLIP) by 28-45% over existing baselines. Our method delivers up to 5x resolution enhancement with minimal hallucination and sensor-consistent appearance, demonstrating seamless cross-tile consistency and strong scalability for large-scale reconstruction. OrbitForge: Text-to-3D Scene Generation via Reconstruction-Anchored Video Synthesis

Generic text-to-video models can be used as rich open-world scene priors. Despite the high quality of today's generated videos, they do not directly yield reliable 3D assets: camera motion is difficult to control, view coverage is partial, and frames often contain inconsistencies across time. We introduce OrbitForge, an adapter built from frozen video priors and per-prompt Gaussian Splatting reconstruction optimization that converts a single text-generated video into a canonical closed-orbit 3D Gaussian Splatting scene. We use 3D reconstruction as an anchor to improve the 3D consistency of the generated video. We obtain a preliminary 3D reconstruction from a first generated video via Deformable Gaussian Splatting with a robust MedianGS proxy. We render views from a prescribed orbit to detect missing viewpoints. OrbitForge uses the text-to-video model to complete only the missing views, and reconstructs the completed orbit into a final Gaussian Splatting scene. This design requires no task-specific video or multiview fine-tuning, avoids per-prompt score-distillation optimization, and does not progressively generate views one step at a time. We further argue that this setting demands coverage-aware evaluation: local smoothness alone rewards methods that never attempt a full orbit. On a frozen 300-prompt T3Bench-derived audit, OrbitForge reconstruction attains a 359.0-degree measured median span, raises originally unsupported-bin Q10 ImageReward from 8.07 to 16.36 relative to MedianGS-only reconstruction, while remaining competitive with VideoMV on the coverage-quality.

VolHuMe: a High-Resolution Large Scale Dataset of Volumetric Human Meshes

We introduce VolHuMe, a dataset of high-quality 4D human scans captured with a state-of-the-art volumetric studio using 64 RGB and 32 depth cameras. VolHuMe contains individual captures of 104 subjects and provides extensive ground truth, including SMPL-X, high-resolution meshes, multi-view RGB/depth images, rigged meshes, point clouds, garment segmentation, and detailed hand and facial geometry. Unlike prior datasets that primarily rely on full-body imagery, VolHuMe uses a close-range, high-resolution capture setup that preserves fine-grained body-part details, improving geometric fidelity and texture resolution. We benchmark VolHuMe on state-of-the-art methods across 3D and 4D human reconstruction tasks, showcasing the dataset's quality and exposing the limitations of current evaluation testbeds.

G-MASt3R-SfM: Graph-based View Pruning and Multi-stage Optimization for Robust SfM

Structure from Motion (SfM) is essential for multi-view 3D reconstruction, however, its accuracy heavily relies on the accuracy of image matching. While the recent correspondence matching method, MASt3R, enables robust matching even under challenging conditions, it tends to generate incorrect correspondences for non-overlapping image pairs. Consequently, existing SfM methods using MASt3R, such as MASt3R-SfM, suffer from significant degradation in pose estimation accuracy as they incorporate these unreliable matches directly into optimization. To address this issue, we propose G-MASt3R-SfM, a novel SfM pipeline that enhances robustness through two key modules. First, the Graph-based View Pruning (GVP) module constructs a scene graph from matching confidence and geometrically prunes outlier views. Second, the Multi-Stage Optimization (MSO) module progressively refines camera parameters by expanding the optimization scope from local consistency to the global consistency. Experiments on the ETH3D dataset demonstrate that our method achieves state-of-the-art accuracy in both camera pose estimation and 3D reconstruction, effectively suppressing noise caused by outliers.

Visual Geometry Transformer in the Wild: Distractor-Free 3D Reconstruction

Current end-to-end multi-view 3D reconstruction methods achieve impressive results, but rely on a restrictive static assumption: the scenes is entire distractor-free with perfect cross-view geometry. This reliance on idealized inputs causes even the most advanced methods to fail in real-world settings, where transient distractors and occlusions present. To address this, we propose Visual Geometry Transformer in the Wild (VGTW), an end-to-end framework for robust reconstruction from inconsistent views. At its core, we isolate and suppress distractor-affected regions while preserving the consistent components across views. Specifically, we introduce a Distractor-aware Training (DAT) strategy that separates clean features from distractor-contaminated ones in the attention mechanism while enforcing feature consistency across images. To enable this, we train the model with an auxiliary mask prediction head, using supervision from a new dataset we collected with pixel-level distractor masks. The resulting VGTW model is a feed-forward network that directly outputs clean, distractor-free point clouds. Remarkably, it requires no additional 3D supervision, remains computationally efficient, and is compatible with existing pipelines. Extensive experiments validate our approach, demonstrating state-of-the-art performance and robust generalization in diverse, real-world scenarios.

Stochastic Signed Distance Processes

Multi-view surface reconstruction is a core problem in computer vision. One prominent line of work represents the surface implicitly as a signed distance field (SDF), optimizing it based on the photometric loss between rendered and observed pixel colors. These approaches typically employ SDF-based volume rendering to obtain a differentiable relaxation of discontinuous visibility along rays, thereby reducing reliance on silhouette supervision. In this paper, we reformulate SDF-based volume rendering as probabilistic surface rendering, where each pixel color is modeled as a mixture distribution induced by the random first ray-surface intersection. To this end, we introduce Stochastic Signed Distance Processes (SSDP), which model the SDF along each ray as a stochastic process, inducing a first-passage-time distribution for each ray. We then derive the first-passage probability for each sampling interval based on Bayesian filtering, together with its practical approximation for parallel rendering. We further show that NeuS, an existing SDF-based volume rendering method, arises as a special case of our formulation. Experiments on the DTU and MobileBrick datasets demonstrate that our method outperforms baselines in both surface reconstruction and uncertainty quantification, supporting the effectiveness of our first-passage formulation. Our code is available at https://github.com/skmhrk1209/SSDP.

VisDom: Sparse Novel View Synthesis with Visible Domain Constraint

Sparse novel view synthesis (NVS) remains challenging due to the ambiguity of recovering 3D geometry from few input views. While NeRF- and Gaussian Splatting (GS)-based methods perform well with dense supervision, they often overfit in sparse settings, producing floating artifacts and inconsistent geometry. Silhouette consistency is commonly used as a regularizer, but it remains insufficient, as silhouette-consistent regions can extend beyond the true object geometry. We introduce VisDom, a learning-free geometric constraint that augments classical carving-based visual hull reconstruction by enforcing a minimum multi-view visibility requirement. Specifically, we define a visible domain as the subset of 3D space observed by at least KK views and use it as an additional filtering criterion on top of standard silhouette-based reconstruction. This provides a stronger spatial prior in sparse-view settings. We integrate VisDom into both implicit (NeRF) and explicit (GS) pipelines by restricting volumetric sampling and guiding Gaussian placement during optimization. Experiments on three challenging datasets show consistent improvements in sparse-view NVS, enabling high-quality object-centric reconstruction from as few as four input images. Our method is domain-agnostic, requires only silhouettes, and introduces no learned parameters, making it a simple complement to existing approaches. Applying VisDom on top of GaussianObject further improves performance on Omni3D and MipNeRF360, while matching or surpassing it at 22 ×\times lower training cost.

RegimeVGGT: Layer-Wise Spatially Preserving Redundancy Removal for Visual Geometry Grounded Transformer

Visual Geometry Grounded Transformer (VGGT) recovers dense 3D scene structure from multi-view images in one forward pass, but quadratic cross-frame attention limits its scalability. Existing training-free accelerators reduce computation uniformly along one axis, missing layer heterogeneity. Our spectral, probing, and causal analyses reveal three regimes: shallow layers lack cross-view structure, middle layers drive cross-view alignment, and deep layers are redundant for dense geometry yet their cross-frame attention remains essential for pose. RegimeVGGT applies layer-wise U-shaped compression along two axes: Saliency-Guided Banded Merging protects geometry- and edge-salient tokens, while Selectively Protected K/V Downsampling preserves cross-frame spatial coverage and the pose-critical path through a phase-shifted spatial grid, a reference-frame anchor, and uncompressed camera/register tokens. Training-free, RegimeVGGT achieves a 6.7x speedup over VGGT* at matched reconstruction quality.

SP-TransientBench: A Real-Captured Single Photon Perception Benchmark

Single-photon LiDAR (SPL) based on single-photon avalanche diode (SPAD) sensing enables time-resolved photon measurements with extreme sensitivity, offering unique potential for active 3D perception in photon-starved scenarios. However, real-world single photon perception remains fundamentally challenging due to unique measurement noise and complex multi-return transient phenomena, which jointly complicate geometric reconstruction and semantic scene understanding. Despite growing interest in SPAD-based sensing, existing studies are largely limited to simulated data or small-scale controlled captures. As a result, systematic evaluation of real-world single photon perception across depth estimation, multi-view reconstruction, and 3D semantic understanding remains underexplored. To bridge this gap, we introduce SP-TransientBench (STB), a real-captured multi-task benchmark for single photon perception. SP-TransientBenc comprises 10 diverse scenes and 10,297 views captured using a solid-state single-photon LiDAR at 256×192256\times192 resolution. Each view provides full time-of-flight histograms with multi-return behavior, standardized metadata, and calibrated camera poses for multi-view evaluation. We further provide 13-class 3D semantic annotations for selected scenes. By providing dedicated data splits and evaluation protocols for each task, STB enables consistent and reproducible benchmarking of real-world single photon perception across multiple 3D vision problems. The dataset and code will be released upon acceptance.

GeneralVLA-2: Geometry-Aware Reconstruction and Governed Memory for Robot Planning

Generalist vision-language-action systems need object-centric 3D evidence and reusable manipulation experience to plan reliable robot trajectories. GeneralVLA provides a hierarchical interface for converting language and RGB-D observations into 3D end-effector paths, but two bottlenecks remain. First, monocular SAM3D-style object reconstruction can hallucinate pose and unseen geometry, while manipulation benefits from stable object shape when calibrated multi-view observations are available. Second, the original KnowledgeBank mainly retrieves semantically similar snippets and appends new knowledge, which makes it difficult to control memory quality, conflicts, confidence, and geometric relevance. To address the first challenge, we introduce GeoFuse-MV3D, a geometry-prior-guided MV-SAM3D reconstruction branch that verifies external geometry cues with input-view masks, applies soft visual-hull support, performs axis-wise refinement, and fuses only geometry while preserving appearance. To address the second challenge, we upgrade KnowledgeBank into a governed long-term memory system with explicit quality, confidence, lifecycle, verifier, and conflict metadata, together with precision-oriented retrieval. Finally, we evaluate the reconstruction branch on GSO-30 and the memory module on Terminal-Bench 2.0 and SWE-Bench Verified; GeoFuse-MV3D improves over the MV-SAM3D baseline by reducing CD and LPIPS by 2.20% and 2.02% while increasing PSNR and SSIM by 2.36% and 1.03%, and KnowledgeBank improves over ReasoningBank by 4.53% on Terminal-Bench SR and 3.73% on SWE-Bench resolve rate, while reducing AS by 4.95% and 5.65%, respectively. Uncertainty Quality of VGGT: An Analysis on the DTU Benchmark Dataset

Visual Geometry Grounded Transformer (VGGT) has already attracted a great deal of attention in a short period of time, not least due to the Best Paper Award at CVPR-2025. Similar to DUSt3R and MASt3R, VGGT aims to bring about a paradigm shift by replacing established methods like bundle adjustment and feature matching with a simple, unified, feed-forward neural network that predicts camera poses, depth maps, and dense 3D structure directly from multiple images of a scene in a few seconds. A key aspect is its ability to process an arbitrary number of views consistently in a single forward pass without any post-processing or iterative optimization. For photogrammetry, this opens new possibilities for real-time, scalable, and accessible 3D reconstruction. In this context, not only high reconstruction accuracy but also high-quality uncertainty estimates are crucial, as they foster trust and enable robust quality assurance. This paper therefore investigates the quality of VGGT's uncertainty predictions. The analysis identifies an effective confidence threshold for filtering VGGT's raw output and demonstrates that enhancing uncertainty quality holds strong potential for improving the accuracy of its 3D reconstructions.

VEPHand: View-Efficient Photometric Hand Performance Capture at Scale

Robust, high-fidelity 3D hand capture, while fundamental to digital human creation, remains challenging with practical multi-view systems that balance rich photometry with the geometric ambiguities of reconstruction arising from limited viewpoint density. This paper presents an end-to-end pipeline for dynamic hand performance capture and registration, specifically designed for view-efficient setups (∼\sim20 views). We address key challenges with two primary innovations. First, to overcome reconstruction difficulties like limited view overlap and background clutter, our mask-free neural method robustly extracts detailed hand geometry and appearance from unmasked images using scene parameterization and scenario-specific density regularization. Second, addressing registration challenges such as accurately capturing non-linear skin deformations and ensuring plausible results during severe self-contact, we propose a physics-inspired framework. It aligns reconstructions to a personalized hand model by optimizing intrinsic volumetric offsets within its canonical tetrahedral mesh, alongside pose parameters. This approach, supported by robust losses and optimization, captures fine surface deformations, ensures plausible results under severe articulation and self-contact, and demonstrates strong tolerance to input noise. We demonstrate the scalability and robustness of our automated pipeline on an extensive dataset of over 12,000 sequences, from which we also derive a large-scale, high-quality synthetic 2D/3D hand dataset for training downstream tasks. This showcases its effectiveness for single hands, intricate two-hand interactions, and natural hand-object manipulations. Our method achieves state-of-the-art reconstruction fidelity in view-efficient, unmasked scenarios and highly accurate registration. Our project page are available at https://vephand.github.io/.

High-Fidelity 4D Hand-Object Capture via Multi-View Spatiotemporal Tracking and Physics-Aware Gaussians

The growing demand for high-fidelity 4D hand-object interaction (HOI) data in embodied AI and spatial computing is currently bottlenecked by the reliance on pre-scanned object templates and physical markers. While recent methods have demonstrated promising results in reconstructing 4D hand-object interaction from videos, they are highly sensitive to initial estimates of hand and object poses. Yet, estimating these poses from images is challenging, in particular under severe occlusion which is inherent in hand-object interaction scenarios. We propose a novel system for the robust and accurate reconstruction of hands and objects from synchronized and calibrated multi-view videos without requiring any templates or markers. Our system consists of two main components with key innovations: (1) a multi-view feed-forward transformer model that aggregates cross-view geometry and temporal cues to provide a reliable, metric-consistent initialization for both poses and dense object geometry, and (2) a hand-object physics-aware Gaussian-based optimization framework to refine the initial estimates, integrating tetrahedral constraints, collision refinement, and appearance decomposition to produce physically plausible and visually accurate reconstruction. Validated on public benchmarks and an extensive internal dataset, our pipeline achieves highly robust, artifact-free reconstruction, providing an efficient foundation for automated 4D asset generation. Surflo: Consistent 3D Surface Flow Model with Global State

Geometry is invariant to viewpoint, which makes any collection of images a redundant encoding of a single 3D state. Existing feed-forward reconstruction models fail to exploit this: per-view methods emit overlapping, unaligned pointmaps that grow linearly with input count, while global-latent methods commit to a fixed, low-resolution output. We introduce Surflo, which compresses a variable number of unposed RGB views into K latent tokens-one global state-and decodes oriented 3D surface points by independently transporting them from noise onto the surface via flow matching. This frees the output from any fixed grid or token budget: the same latent yields from a few thousand to a million points in a single forward pass. To suppress the local inconsistencies inherent to independent per-point decoding, an inference-time guidance term correlates nearby points by injecting a photometric gradient during ODE integration. Surflo matches or surpasses feed-forward baselines on surface metrics, runs an order of magnitude faster than optimization-based methods that require hundreds of views, and is the only feed-forward approach to combine a global latent with arbitrary-resolution decoding.

Wispy to Voluminous: Prior-free Multi-view Capture of Strand-level Facial Hair

Facial hair is a defining trait of personal identity, yet remains a critical bottleneck for digital avatars. Recent volumetric methods achieve photorealism but bake hair into the underlying face geometry, preventing editability and failing to resolve sparse, strand-like structures. Meanwhile, scalp-hair reconstruction methods target dense hair volumes and do not transfer to the sparse, spatially-varying nature of facial hair. We present a pipeline that automatically reconstructs facial hair -- beard, mustache, lashes, and brows -- from multi-view images, converting an unstructured 3D Gaussian representation into an explicit curve-based strand representation. We resolve geometric ambiguities in four stages: (i) optimizing 3D Gaussians constrained by tracked head geometry to enforce early ray termination and suppress sub-surface noise; (ii) tracing continuous strands robust to frequent crossings and extreme curvature; (iii) grounding strands to the surface and resolving root-tip ambiguity via a physically-motivated prior; and (iv) refining the reconstruction through opacity-driven density control under photometric optimization. To our knowledge, this is the first method to reconstruct high-fidelity facial hair strands from a 3D Gaussian representation. The recovered strands faithfully preserve the orientation and sparsity patterns characteristic of facial hair, and yield assets immediately suitable for downstream production tasks, including facial animation and physical simulation, geometric grooming and transfer, appearance editing, and physics-based rendering.

3D Oral Modelling with Improved Vertex Distribution Using Matching-Based Learning

In our previous work, a deep learning-based framework for 3D intraoral reconstruction was proposed. The model directly predicts explicit 3D point cloud coordinates from ten fixed-angle intraoral images, employing MobileNetV2 and Multi-head Attention for multi-view feature fusion, with a combined L1 Loss and Chamfer Distance as the loss function. Although the model achieved an accuracy of 77.49%, predicted vertices tended to concentrate in high-density regions of the ground truth, leaving other regions largely uncovered. In this paper, an improved loss function is proposed to address this limitation. Hungarian matching with filtering and Repulsion Loss are introduced to enforce more uniform vertex distribution across the reconstructed model. The proposed model achieves an accuracy of 68.02%, which is numerically lower than the previous model. However, the vertex clustering issue observed in the prior work is substantially alleviated, with predicted vertices distributed more evenly across the entire reconstructed surface.

ExMesh: Explicit Mesh Reconstruction with Topology Adaptation

Reconstructing surface meshes from multi-view images has remained a core challenge in recent years. Most existing methods, whether implicit or explicit, depend on intermediate representations and post-processing steps like Marching Cubes or TSDF fusion, often resulting in artifacts and fragmented geometry. Directly optimizing explicit meshes is a promising approach. However, it presents two critical challenges. The first is how to adaptively refine mesh topology to capture detail without introducing degenerate faces. The second is how to maintain consistent UV coordinates for high-fidelity texturing as the mesh structure evolves. To overcome these, we propose ExMesh, a novel framework that directly optimizes explicit meshes by integrating differentiable optimization with discrete topology updates. Specifically, we introduce an adaptive vertex splitting and merging strategy, along with real-time UV maintenance, to enable coarse-to-fine optimization while preserving geometric integrity. To our knowledge, ExMesh is the first framework to seamlessly integrate discrete topology operations into a continuous differentiable optimization pipeline. Extensive experiments demonstrate that ExMesh achieves a balance among accuracy, computational efficiency, and mesh conciseness.

RPC-GS: Gaussian Splatting with native RPC Rendering for Satellite Imagery

We present RPC-GS, the first Gaussian Splatting framework for satellite imagery that operates natively with Rational Polynomial Camera (RPC) models. The RPC model is the de facto standard for representing the complex imaging geometry of modern pushbroom satellite sensors. To simplify rendering, prior satellite Gaussian Splatting methods replace the RPC model with perspective or affine camera approximations, leading to geometric errors during reconstruction. RPC-GS avoids these approximations by projecting Gaussian means and covariances directly through the RPC model during the splatting process. We embed the RPC model in a chain of carefully selected geo-coordinate transformations representing a mapping from splatting-suitable scene coordinates to image coordinates. To map the Gaussian covariance matrices, we derive a numerically robust Jacobian-based covariance projection for the (partially nonlinear) coordinate transformations. Since RPCs lack an explicit notion of camera depth, we integrate a metric ray-based depth formulation. We benchmark RPC, perspective, and affine camera models in a unified framework, with our native RPC renderer consistently achieving the lowest reconstruction error on leading satellite benchmark datasets, improving mean altitude error over perspective and affine approximations by 29.6% and 63.8% on DFC2019, and by 9.9% and 37.9% on IARPA2016. We release our code to support future research of Gaussian Splatting in the satellite imaging domain.

Deep Learning-based 3D Oral Cavity Reconstruction Using 2D Intraoral Images

Oral 3D modelling is one of the most essential stages in dentistry, and many different approaches, such as impression taking and intraoral scanning, are commonly used for this phase, each with notable limitations. Impression taking, which involves placing alginate or silicone material in a tray and inserting it into the patient's oral cavity to form a negative mold, suffers from significant patient discomfort, material deformation errors, and difficulties in storage and transportation. Intraoral scanners, which directly scan oral structures in real time using structured light or laser technology, produce state-of-the-art results but are associated with substantially high equipment costs. To address these limitations, this paper proposes a software-based approach that reconstructs a 3D oral model using only ten 2D intraoral images captured from different angles, requiring no dedicated hardware devices. The proposed method reduces cost, eliminates the need for physical scanning equipment, minimises patient discomfort, and enables automated 3D reconstruction. The model is trained on the publicly available Teeth3DS dataset, comprising 950 upper jaw samples, and employs MobileNetV2 as the image encoder combined with Multi-head Attention for multi-view feature fusion. The proposed model achieves an accuracy of 77.49%, measured by nearest-neighbor matching with a distance threshold of 0.035. However, predicted vertices tend to concentrate in high-density regions of the ground truth, resulting in uneven point distribution across the reconstructed model.

Unpaired RGB-Thermal Gaussian-Splatting Using Visual Geometric Transformers

Multi-modal novel view synthesis (NVS) combining RGB and thermal imagery enables precise 3D scene reconstruction with visual and thermal information. However, existing methods typically rely on precisely calibrated RGB-thermal image pairs or stereo setups, limiting scalability and practical deployment. To address this, we introduce a framework for unpaired RGB-thermal NVS that leverages VGGT, a 3D feed-forward transformer architecture, to independently estimate camera poses for each modality. The pose sets are then aligned using the Procrustes algorithm with a cross-modal feature matcher, enabling joint registration without paired calibration. Building on this alignment, we further propose a multi-modal 3D Gaussian Splatting approach that learns directly from unpaired RGB and thermal images. Experiments on diverse scenes demonstrate that our method achieves competitive performance in thermal view synthesis while maintaining RGB fidelity. Moreover, we show that existing reconstruction approaches can produce modality-specific reconstructions that lack cross-modal consistency. We thus introduce a benchmarking framework to rigorously evaluate both per-modality image synthesis and the multi-modal coherence of reconstructed scenes.
