Robotics Education
Overview
Robotics education studies how learners build understanding of robotics, from computational thinking and basic control to robot learning, autonomous systems, and human-robot interaction. Approaches include project-based courses using platforms such as ROS, block-based programming, low-cost open hardware, and simulation-to-real exercises, alongside augmented or mixed reality for visualizing robot behavior. Programs span K–12 classrooms, university engineering courses, museums, and community settings, often connecting robot construction or deployment to tasks such as environmental monitoring. A central challenge is balancing authentic, hands-on experience and broad access with technical complexity, while establishing through controlled classroom studies whether engaging tools produce durable learning gains.
