GeoQuery: Geometry-Query Diffusion for Sparse-View Reconstruction

3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) has emerged as a prominent paradigm for 3D reconstruction and novel view synthesis. However, it remains vulnerable to severe artifacts when trained under sparse-view constraints. While recent methods attempt to rectify artifacts in rendered views using image diffusion models, they typically rely on multi-view self-attention to retrieve information from reference images. We observe that this mechanism often fails when the rendered novel views output by 3DGS are heavily corrupted: damaged query features lead to erroneous cross-view retrieval, resulting in inconsistent rendering refinement. To address this, we propose GeoQuery, a geometry-guided diffusion framework that integrates generative priors with explicit geometric cues via a novel Geometry-guided Cross-view Attention (GCA) mechanism. First, by leveraging predicted depth maps and camera poses, we construct a geometry-induced correspondence field to sample reference features, forming a geometry-aligned proxy query that replaces the corrupted rendering features. Furthermore, we design a new cross-view feature aggregation pipeline, in which we restrict the cross-view attention to a local window around each proxy query to effectively retrieve useful features while suppressing spurious matches. GeoQuery can be seamlessly integrated into existing diffusion-based pipelines, enabling robust reconstruction even under extreme view sparsity. Extensive experiments on sparse-view novel view synthesis and rendering artifact removal demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach.

PairDropGS: Paired Dropout-Induced Consistency Regularization for Sparse-View Gaussian Splatting

Dropout-based sparse-view 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) methods alleviate overfitting by randomly suppressing Gaussian primitives during training. Existing methods mainly focus on designing increasingly sophisticated dropout strategies, while they overlook the resulting inconsistencies among different dropped Gaussian subsets. This oversight often leads to unstable reconstruction and suboptimal Gaussian representation learning. In this paper, we revisit dropout-based sparse-view 3DGS from a consistency regularization perspective and propose PairDropGS, a Paired Dropout-induced Consistency Regularization framework for sparse-view Gaussian splatting. Specifically, PairDropGS first constructs a pair of the dropped Gaussian subsets from a shared Gaussian field and designs a low-frequency consistency regularization to constrain their low-frequency rendered structures. This design encourages the shared Gaussian field to preserve stable scene layout and coarse geometry under different random dropouts, while avoiding excessive constraints on ambiguous high-frequency details. Moreover, we introduce a progressive consistency scheduling strategy to gradually strengthen the consistency regularization during training for stability and robustness of reconstruction. Extensive experiments on widely-used sparse-view benchmarks demonstrate that PairDropGS achieves superior training stability, significantly outperforms existing dropout-based 3DGS methods in reconstruction quality, while exhibiting the simplicity and plug-and-play nature for improving dropout-based optimization.

VidSplat: Gaussian Splatting Reconstruction with Geometry-Guided Video Diffusion Priors

Gaussian Splatting has achieved remarkable progress in multi-view surface reconstruction, yet it exhibits notable degradation when only few views are available. Although recent efforts alleviate this issue by enhancing multi-view consistency to produce plausible surfaces, they struggle to infer unseen, occluded, or weakly constrained regions beyond the input coverage. To address this limitation, we present VidSplat, a training-free generative reconstruction framework that leverages powerful video diffusion priors to iteratively synthesize novel views that compensate for missing input coverage, and thereby recover complete 3D scenes from sparse inputs. Specifically, we tackle two key challenges that enable the effective integration of generation and reconstruction. First, for 3D consistent generation, we elaborate a training-free, stage-wise denoising strategy that adaptively guides the denoising direction toward the underlying geometry using the rendered RGB and mask images. Second, to enhance the reconstruction, we develop an iterative mechanism that samples camera trajectories, explores unobserved regions, synthesizes novel views, and supplements training through confidence weighted refinement. VidSplat performs robustly to sparse input and even a single image. Extensive experiments on widely used benchmarks demonstrate our superior performance in sparse-view scene reconstruction.

ConFixGS: Learning to Fix Feedforward 3D Gaussian Splatting with Confidence-Aware Diffusion Priors in Driving Scenes

Feedforward 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) often struggles in trajectory-based sparse-view driving scenes. Existing Gaussian repair methods mainly target optimization-based 3DGS, while diffusion-based repair is typically restricted to iterative refinement near observed viewpoints, leaving feedforward 3DGS repair underexplored. We propose ConFixGS, a plug-and-play method that learns to fix feedforward 3DGS with confidence-aware diffusion priors. Starting from a pretrained feedforward model, ConFixGS generates diffusion-enhanced local pseudo-targets and validates them through reprojection-based cross-checking against support views. The resulting dense confidence maps guide refinement, enhancing reliable details while suppressing hallucinated or inconsistent evidence. On Waymo, nuScenes, and KITTI, ConFixGS improves challenging novel view synthesis, with PSNR gains of up to 3.68 dB and FID reduced by nearly half. Our results highlight confidence-aware fusion of generative priors and support-view consistency as a key principle for robust feedforward 3D driving scene reconstruction.

Low-Cost Neural Radiance Fields

Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF) achieve high-quality novel-view synthesis, but their long training times and reliance on dense input views limit accessibility. We present a comparative study of three accelerated NeRF variants - DS-NeRF, TensoRF, and HashNeRF and explore extensions targeted at the low-compute, low-data regime. First, we add a depth-supervision loss derived from COLMAP keypoints to TensoRF (TensoRF-DS) and evaluate it on the LLFF dataset under reduced view counts. Second, we ablate the feature-decoding MLP of TensoRF and study the effect of input downsampling on PSNR and runtime on the synthetic Lego scene. Third, we propose four architectural variants of the HashNeRF color and density networks, including residual and convolutional designs, and report PSNR/training-time tradeoffs under matched iteration budgets. Under iso-time evaluation, none of our extensions conclusively outperform the published baselines, but the experiments characterize which extensions transfer to constrained settings and surface design questions for future work.

LagrangianSplats: Divergence-Free Transport of Gaussian Primitives for Fluid Reconstruction

Reconstructing 3D fluid velocity fields from sparse 2D video observations is a highly ill-posed inverse problem, demanding both transport consistency with observed motion and physical validity under fluid laws. Existing methods typically impose these constraints through soft penalties, often leading to compromised accuracy and convergence issues. We introduce a reconstruction framework that structurally enforces both constraints. Specifically, we parameterize the reconstructed velocity using a continuous Divergence-Free Kernel representation, driving the advection of a Lagrangian 3D Gaussian Splatting representation. This formulation intrinsically guarantees both flow incompressibility and long-range transport coherence by construction. To enable the efficient optimization of such a constrained system, we introduce a novel Sliding Window scheme that propagates gradients over meaningful temporal horizons while maintaining tractable training costs. Experiments on synthetic and real-world datasets demonstrate that our method outperforms state-of-the-art baselines in both transport consistency and physical accuracy, enabling applications such as high-quality re-simulation and flow analysis.

SeasonScapes: Learning Large-scale Re-lightable 3D Landscapes with Seasonal Variation from Sparse Webcams

We introduce SeasonScapes framework and a the SeasonScapes dataset: Swiss Sparse-view Mountain Scenes with Seasonal Changes that covers over 50 km x 60 km, composed of more than 85,000 webcam images captured from 32 different locations across 13 timestamps throughout a full year. By projecting these timestamp-specific images onto a 3D mesh, we construct seasonal 3D landscapes that reflect natural appearance changes over time. To address occlusions and missing data, we leverage conditional diffusion models for image-guided inpainting directly on the mesh. The resulting completed meshes can be further relighted using standard physically-based renderer.

SatSurfGS: Generalizable 2D Gaussian Splatting for Sparse-View Satellite Surface Reconstruction

Sparse-view satellite image surface reconstruction remains highly challenging, fundamentally because the reliability of multi-view matching under satellite imaging conditions is strongly spatially heterogeneous. Affected by large photometric differences, weak textures, and repetitive textures, multi-view geometric constraints are often sparse, unevenly distributed, and locally unreliable. Although 2D Gaussian Splatting (2DGS) is more suitable than 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) for the explicit representation of continuous surfaces, research on generalizable feed-forward 2DGS frameworks for sparse-view satellite surface reconstruction is still lacking. To address this issue, we propose SatSurfGS, a generalizable sparse-view surface reconstruction method for satellite imagery based on 2DGS. The proposed method builds a coarse-to-fine Gaussian attribute prediction framework and explicitly models local geometric reliability at three levels: feature learning, Gaussian parameter estimation, and training optimization. Specifically, we propose a confidence-aware monocular multi-view feature fusion module to adaptively integrate monocular priors and multi-view matching features according to local confidence; a cross-stage self-consistency residual guidance module to stabilize stage-wise Gaussian parameter refinement using the residual between the rendered height map from the previous stage and the current-stage MVS height map, together with confidence information; and a confidence bidirectional routing loss to achieve differentiated allocation of geometric and appearance supervision. Experiments on satellite datasets show that the proposed method achieves improved rendering quality, surface reconstruction accuracy, cross-dataset generalization, and inference efficiency compared with representative generalizable baselines and competitive per-scene optimization methods.

Sparse-to-Complete: From Sparse Image Captures to Complete 3D Scenes

We introduce S2C-3D, a novel sparse-view 3D reconstruction framework for high-fidelity and complete scene reconstruction from as few as six to eight images. Our framework features three components: a specialized diffusion model for scene-specific image restoration, a training-free view-consistency conditioned sampling process in the diffusion model for refined Gaussian optimization, and a camera trajectory planning scheme to ensure comprehensive scene coverage. The specialized diffusion model is developed by finetuning a pretrained architecture on the input views and their corresponding degraded counterparts. The adaptation to the scene distribution allows the model to repair Gaussian renderings while effectively eliminating domain gaps. Meanwhile, the trajectory planning scheme optimizes scene coverage by connecting each newly sampled camera to its two nearest neighbors. By iteratively constructing paths and retaining only those that significantly enhance visibility, the scheme establishes a trajectory that covers the entire scene. To address multi-view conflicts, the view-consistency conditioned sampling process quantifies the consistency between neighboring repaired images. This information is injected as a condition into the sampling process of the frozen diffusion model, facilitating the generation of view-consistent images without additional training. Consequently, our approach produces high-fidelity 3D Gaussians that are robust to artifacts. Experimental results demonstrate that S2C-3D outperforms state-of-the-art methods, constructing high-quality scenes that are free from missing regions, blurring, or other artifacts with very sparse inputs. Mix3R: Mixing Feed-forward Reconstruction and Generative 3D Priors for Joint Multi-view Aligned 3D Reconstruction and Pose Estimation

Recent trends in sparse-view 3D reconstruction have taken two different paths: feed-forward reconstruction that predicts pixel-aligned point maps without a complete geometry, and generative 3D reconstruction that generates complete geometry but often with poor input-alignment. We present Mix3R, a novel generative 3D reconstruction method which mixes feed-forward reconstruction and 3D generation into a single framework in an aligned manner. Mix3R generates a 3D shape in two stages: a sparse voxel generation stage and a textured geometry generation stage. Unlike pure generative methods, our first-stage generation jointly produces a coarse 3D structure (sparse voxels), per-view point maps and camera parameters aligned to that 3D structure. This is made possible by introducing a Mixture-of-Transformers architecture that inserts global self-attentions to a feed-forward reconstruction model and a 3D generative model, both pretrained on large-scale data. This design effectively retains the pretrained priors but enables better 2D-3D alignment. Based on the initial aligned generations of sparse 3D voxels and point maps, we compute an overlap-based attention bias that is directly added to another pretrained textured geometry generation model, enabling it to correctly place input textures onto generated shapes in a training-free manner. Our design brings mutual benefits to both feed-forward reconstruction and 3D generation: The feed-forward branch learns to ground its predictions to a generative 3D prior, and conversely, the 3D generation branch is conditioned on geometrically informative features from the feed-forward branch. As a result, our method produces 3D shapes with better input alignment compared with pure 3D generative methods, together with camera pose estimations more accurate than previous feed-forward reconstruction methods. Generalizable Sparse-View 3D Reconstruction from Unconstrained Images

Reconstructing 3D scenes from sparse, unposed images remains challenging under real-world conditions with varying illumination and transient occlusions. Existing methods rely on scene-specific optimization using appearance embeddings or dynamic masks, which requires extensive per-scene training and fails under sparse views. Moreover, evaluations on limited scenes raise questions about generalization. We present GenWildSplat, a feed-forward framework for sparse-view outdoor reconstruction that requires no per-scene optimization. Given unposed internet images, GenWildSplat predicts depth, camera parameters, and 3D Gaussians in a canonical space using learned geometric priors. An appearance adapter modulates appearance for target lighting conditions, while semantic segmentation handles transient objects. Through curriculum learning on synthetic and real data, GenWildSplat generalizes across diverse illumination and occlusion patterns. Evaluations on PhotoTourism and MegaScenes benchmark demonstrate state-of-the-art feed-forward rendering quality, achieving real-time inference without test-time optimization

Difix3D-W: Distractor-Free Few-Shot 3D Gaussian Splatting in the Wild

We propose Difix3D-W, a 3D novel sparse-view synthesis framework for unconstrained real-world scenarios that contain distractors, occlusion, and appearance variation. Unlike existing methods that primarily perform novel-view synthesis from a sparse set of constrained images without transient elements or leverage unconstrained dense image collections in real-world scenarios, our method utilize sparse unconstrained images, showing high-quality 3D rendering results. To do this, we introduce reference-guided view refinement with a redesigned one-step diffusion model using a transient mask and a reference image to mitigate artifacts in rendered views, enhancing the 3D representation in the Gaussian field. Furthermore, we address sparse regions in the Gaussian field leveraging sparsity-aware Gaussian replication strategy to amplify Gaussians in the sparse regions and alleviate deficient camera viewpoint issues. Finally, we utilize LoRA and regularization to maintain 3D multi-view consistency. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method consistently outperforms existing methods. This advancement paves the way for realizing real-world scenarios without labor-intensive data acquisition.

Reconstruction by Generation: 3D Multi-Object Scene Reconstruction from Sparse Observations

Accurately reconstructing complex full multi-object scenes from sparse observations remains a core challenge in computer vision and a key step toward scalable and reliable simulation for robotics. In this work, we introduce RecGen, a generative framework for probabilistic joint estimation of object and part shapes, as well as their pose under occlusion and partial visibility from one or multiple RGB-D images. By leveraging compositional synthetic scene generation and strong 3D shape priors, RecGen generalizes across diverse object types and real-world environments. RecGen achieves state-of-the-art performance on complex, heavily occluded datasets, robustly handling severe occlusions, symmetric objects, object parts, and intricate geometry and texture. Despite using nearly 80% fewer training meshes than the previous state of the art SAM3D, RecGen outperforms it by 30.1% in geometric shape quality, 9.1% in texture reconstruction, and 33.9% in pose estimation.

EnerGS: Energy-Based Gaussian Splatting with Partial Geometric Priors

3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) has been widely adopted for scene reconstruction, where training inherently constitutes a highly coupled and non-convex optimization problem. Recent works commonly incorporate geometric priors, such as LiDAR measurements, either for initialization or as training constraints, with the goal of improving photometric reconstruction quality. However, in large-scale outdoor scenarios, such geometric supervision is often spatially incomplete and uneven, which limits its effectiveness as a reliable prior and can even be detrimental to the final reconstruction. To address this challenge, we model partially observable geometry as a continuous energy field induced by geometric evidence and propose EnerGS. Rather than enforcing geometry as a hard constraint, EnerGS provides a soft geometric guidance for the optimization of Gaussian primitives, allowing geometric information to steer the optimization process without directly restricting the solution space. Extensive experiments on large-scale outdoor scenes demonstrate that, under both sparse multi-view and monocular settings, EnerGS consistently improves photometric quality and geometric stability, while effectively mitigating overfitting during 3DGS training.

Generalizable Human Gaussian Splatting via Multi-view Semantic Consistency

Recently, generalizable human Gaussian splatting from sparse-view inputs has been actively studied for the photorealistic human rendering. Most existing methods rely on explicit geometric constraints or predefined structural representations to accurately position 3D Gaussians. Although these approaches have shown the remarkable progress in this field, they still suffer from inconsistent feature representations across multi-view inputs due to complex articulations of the human body and limited overlaps between different views. To address this problem, we propose a novel method to accurately localize 3D Gaussians and ultimately improve the quality of human rendering. The key idea is to unproject latent embeddings encoded from each viewpoint into a shared 3D space through predicted depth maps and recalibrate them belonging to the same body part based on cross-view attention. This helps the model resolve the spatial ambiguity occurring in highly textured regions as well as occluded body parts, thus leading to the accurate localization of 3D Gaussians. Experimental results on benchmark datasets show that the proposed method efficiently improves the performance of generalizable human Gaussian splatting from sparse-view inputs.

Light 'em Up: Enabling Few-Shot Low-Light 3D Gaussian Splatting with Multi-Scale Explicit Retinex Illumination Decoupling

Full 360∘^\circ novel view synthesis under low-light conditions remains challenging. Insufficient illumination, noise amplification, and view-dependent photometric inconsistencies prevent existing methods from jointly preserving geometric consistency and photorealism. Unsupervised approaches often exhibit color drift under large viewpoint variations, while supervised low-light enhancement models, though effective for 2D tasks, struggle to generalize to new scenes and typically require retraining. To address this issue, we propose MERID-GS, a Multi-Scale Explicit Retinex Illumination-Decoupled Gaussian framework for low-light 360∘^\circ synthesis. Based on Retinex theory, the method explicitly separates illumination and reflectance, and suppresses noise propagation while enhancing dark-region structures via a learnable gain and Illumination-State-Guided Frequency Gating. Combined with lightweight Reflection Head and 3D Gaussian Splatting, MERID-GS adapts to new scenes with only a few shots and enables stable low-light novel view synthesis from sparse-view observations. In addition, we construct a low-light multi-view dataset covering full 360∘^\circ scenes for joint evaluation. Thorough experiments across multiple datasets in this area demonstrate that MERID-GS achieves SOTA performance, exhibiting superior cross-scene generalization and view consistency. Long-tail Internet photo reconstruction

Internet photo collections exhibit an extremely long-tailed distribution: a few famous landmarks are densely photographed and easily reconstructed in 3D, while most real-world sites are represented with sparse, noisy, uneven imagery beyond the capabilities of both classical and learned 3D methods. We believe that tackling this long-tail regime represents one of the next frontiers for 3D foundation models. Although reliable ground-truth 3D supervision from sparse scenes is challenging to acquire, we observe that it can be effectively simulated by sampling sparse subsets from well-reconstructed Internet landmarks. To this end, we introduce MegaDepth-X, a large dataset of 3D reconstructions with clean, dense depth, together with a strategy for sampling sets of training images that mimic camera distributions in long-tail scenes. Finetuning 3D foundation models with these components yields robust reconstructions under extreme sparsity, and also enables more reliable reconstruction in symmetric and repetitive scenes, while preserving generalization to standard, dense 3D benchmark datasets.

WildSplatter: Feed-forward 3D Gaussian Splatting with Appearance Control from Unconstrained Images

We propose WildSplatter, a feed-forward 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) model for unconstrained images with unknown camera parameters and varying lighting conditions. 3DGS is an effective scene representation that enables high-quality, real-time rendering; however, it typically requires iterative optimization and multi-view images captured under consistent lighting with known camera parameters. WildSplatter is trained on unconstrained photo collections and jointly learns 3D Gaussians and appearance embeddings conditioned on input images. This design enables flexible modulation of Gaussian colors to represent significant variations in lighting and appearance. Our method reconstructs 3D Gaussians from sparse input views in under one second, while also enabling appearance control under diverse lighting conditions. Experimental results demonstrate that our approach outperforms existing pose-free 3DGS methods on challenging real-world datasets with varying illumination.

GeoRect4D: Geometry-Compatible Generative Rectification for Dynamic Sparse-View 3D Reconstruction

Reconstructing dynamic 3D scenes from sparse multi-view videos is highly ill-posed, often leading to geometric collapse, trajectory drift, and floating artifacts. Recent attempts introduce generative priors to hallucinate missing content, yet naive integration frequently causes structural drift and temporal inconsistency due to the mismatch between stochastic 2D generation and deterministic 3D geometry. In this paper, we propose GeoRect4D, a novel unified framework for sparse-view dynamic reconstruction that couples explicit 3D consistency with generative refinement via a closed-loop optimization process. Specifically, GeoRect4D introduces a degradation-aware feedback mechanism that incorporates a robust anchor-based dynamic 3DGS substrate with a single-step diffusion rectifier to hallucinate high-fidelity details. This rectifier utilizes a structural locking mechanism and spatiotemporal coordinated attention, effectively preserving physical plausibility while restoring missing content. Furthermore, we present a progressive optimization strategy that employs stochastic geometric purification to eliminate floaters and generative distillation to infuse texture details into the explicit representation. Extensive experiments demonstrate that GeoRect4D achieves state-of-the-art performance in reconstruction fidelity, perceptual quality, and spatiotemporal consistency across multiple datasets.

GSCompleter: A Distillation-Free Plugin for Metric-Aware 3D Gaussian Splatting Completion in Seconds

3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) has revolutionized high-fidelity neural rendering with its explicit representation and efficiency. However, reconstructing scenes from sparse viewpoints suffers from severe geometric voids and floaters due to limited coverage. Current scene completion methods typically rely on an iterative "Repair-then-Distill" paradigm, which is computationally intensive, prone to unstable optimization, and susceptible to overfitting. To address these limitations, we propose GSCompleter, a distillation-free plugin that shifts scene completion to a stable "Generate-then-Register" workflow. Specifically, GSCompleter synthesizes visually plausible 2D reference images and explicitly lifts them into 3D Gaussian primitives with a consistent metric scale via a robust Stereo-Anchor View Selection mechanism. These newly generated primitives are then seamlessly integrated into the global scene using a novel Ray-Constrained Registration strategy. By replacing unstable distillation with rapid geometric registration, GSCompleter exhibits superior 3DGS completion performance across three benchmarks, enhancing both quality and efficiency over various baselines and achieving new state-of-the-art (SOTA) results.

AnyRecon: Arbitrary-View 3D Reconstruction with Video Diffusion Model

Sparse-view 3D reconstruction is essential for modeling scenes from casual captures, but remain challenging for non-generative reconstruction. Existing diffusion-based approaches mitigates this issues by synthesizing novel views, but they often condition on only one or two capture frames, which restricts geometric consistency and limits scalability to large or diverse scenes. We propose AnyRecon, a scalable framework for reconstruction from arbitrary and unordered sparse inputs that preserves explicit geometric control while supporting flexible conditioning cardinality. To support long-range conditioning, our method constructs a persistent global scene memory via a prepended capture view cache, and removes temporal compression to maintain frame-level correspondence under large viewpoint changes. Beyond better generative model, we also find that the interplay between generation and reconstruction is crucial for large-scale 3D scenes. Thus, we introduce a geometry-aware conditioning strategy that couples generation and reconstruction through an explicit 3D geometric memory and geometry-driven capture-view retrieval. To ensure efficiency, we combine 4-step diffusion distillation with context-window sparse attention to reduce quadratic complexity. Extensive experiments demonstrate robust and scalable reconstruction across irregular inputs, large viewpoint gaps, and long trajectories.

Asset Harvester: Extracting 3D Assets from Autonomous Driving Logs for Simulation

Closed-loop simulation is a core component of autonomous vehicle (AV) development, enabling scalable testing, training, and safety validation before real-world deployment. Neural scene reconstruction converts driving logs into interactive 3D environments for simulation, but it does not produce complete 3D object assets required for agent manipulation and large-viewpoint novel-view synthesis. To address this challenge, we present Asset Harvester, an image-to-3D model and end-to-end pipeline that converts sparse, in-the-wild object observations from real driving logs into complete, simulation-ready assets. Rather than relying on a single model component, we developed a system-level design for real-world AV data that combines large-scale curation of object-centric training tuples, geometry-aware preprocessing across heterogeneous sensors, and a robust training recipe that couples sparse-view-conditioned multiview generation with 3D Gaussian lifting. Within this system, SparseViewDiT is explicitly designed to address limited-angle views and other real-world data challenges. Together with hybrid data curation, augmentation, and self-distillation, this system enables scalable conversion of sparse AV object observations into reusable 3D assets.

MU-GeNeRF: Multi-view Uncertainty-guided Generalizable Neural Radiance Fields for Distractor-aware Scene

Generalizable Neural Radiance Fields (GeNeRFs) enable high-quality scene reconstruction from sparse views and can generalize to unseen scenes. However, in real-world settings, transient distractors break cross-view structural consistency, corrupting supervision and degrading reconstruction quality. Existing distractor-free NeRF methods rely on per-scene optimization and estimate uncertainty from per-view reconstruction errors, which are not reliable for GeNeRFs and often misjudge inconsistent static structures as distractors. To this end, we propose MU-GeNeRF, a Multi-view Uncertainty-guided distractor-aware GeNeRF framework designed to alleviate GeNeRF's robust modeling challenges in the presence of transient distractions. We decompose distractor awareness into two complementary uncertainty components: Source-view Uncertainty, which captures structural discrepancies across source views caused by viewpoint changes or dynamic factors; and Target-view Uncertainty, which detects observation anomalies in the target image induced by transient distractors. These two uncertainties address distinct error sources and are combined through a heteroscedastic reconstruction loss, which guides the model to adaptively modulate supervision, enabling more robust distractor suppression and geometric modeling.Extensive experiments show that our method not only surpasses existing GeNeRFs but also achieves performance comparable to scene-specific distractor-free NeRFs.

ArtifactWorld: Scaling 3D Gaussian Splatting Artifact Restoration via Video Generation Models

3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) delivers high-fidelity real-time rendering but suffers from geometric and photometric degradations under sparse-view constraints. Current generative restoration approaches are often limited by insufficient temporal coherence, a lack of explicit spatial constraints, and a lack of large-scale training data, resulting in multi-view inconsistencies, erroneous geometric hallucinations, and limited generalization to diverse real-world artifact distributions. In this paper, we present ArtifactWorld, a framework that resolves 3DGS artifact repair through systematic data expansion and a homogeneous dual-model paradigm. To address the data bottleneck, we establish a fine-grained phenomenological taxonomy of 3DGS artifacts and construct a comprehensive training set of 107.5K diverse paired video clips to enhance model robustness. Architecturally, we unify the restoration process within a video diffusion backbone, utilizing an isomorphic predictor to localize structural defects via an artifact heatmap. This heatmap then guides the restoration through an Artifact-Aware Triplet Fusion mechanism, enabling precise, intensity-guided spatio-temporal repair within native self-attention. Extensive experiments demonstrate that ArtifactWorld achieves state-of-the-art performance in sparse novel view synthesis and robust 3D reconstruction. SA-ResGS: Self-Augmented Residual 3D Gaussian Splatting for Next Best View Selection

We propose Self-Augmented Residual 3D Gaussian Splatting (SA-ResGS), a novel framework to stabilize uncertainty quantification and enhancing uncertainty-aware supervision in next-best-view (NBV) selection for active scene reconstruction. SA-ResGS improves both the reliability of uncertainty estimates and their effectiveness for supervision by generating Self-Augmented point clouds (SA-Points) via triangulation between a training view and a rasterized extrapolated view, enabling efficient scene coverage estimation. While improving scene coverage through physically guided view selection, SA-ResGS also addresses the challenge of under-supervised Gaussians, exacerbated by sparse and wide-baseline views, by introducing the first residual learning strategy tailored for 3D Gaussian Splatting. This targeted supervision enhances gradient flow in high-uncertainty Gaussians by combining uncertainty-driven filtering with dropout- and hard-negative-mining-inspired sampling. Our contributions are threefold: (1) a physically grounded view selection strategy that promotes efficient and uniform scene coverage; (2) an uncertainty-aware residual supervision scheme that amplifies learning signals for weakly contributing Gaussians, improving training stability and uncertainty estimation across scenes with diverse camera distributions; (3) an implicit unbiasing of uncertainty quantification as a consequence of constrained view selection and residual supervision, which together mitigate conflicting effects of wide-baseline exploration and sparse-view ambiguity in NBV planning. Experiments on active view selection demonstrate that SA-ResGS outperforms state-of-the-art baselines in both reconstruction quality and view selection robustness.

GAINS: Gaussian-based Inverse Rendering from Sparse Multi-View Captures

Recent advances in Gaussian Splatting-based inverse rendering extend Gaussian primitives with shading parameters and physically grounded light transport, enabling high-quality material recovery from dense multi-view captures. However, the accuracy of these methods degrades under sparse-view settings, where limited observations lead to severe ambiguity between geometry, reflectance, and lighting. We introduce GAINS (Gaussian-based Inverse rendering from Sparse multi-view captures), a two-stage inverse rendering framework that leverages foundation models as priors to stabilize geometry and material estimation. The core technical contribution of this paper is an inverse rendering framework that unifies foundation model priors with physically-based representations in an optimization scheme. GAINS first refines geometry using monocular depth, normal, and diffusion priors, and then employs segmentation, intrinsic image decomposition (IID), and diffusion priors to regularize material recovery. Extensive experiments on synthetic and real-world datasets show that GAINS significantly improves material parameter accuracy, relighting quality, and novel-view synthesis compared to state-of-the-art Gaussian-based inverse rendering methods. While GAINS outperforms and remains competitive across a wide range of objects captured with 4 to 32 cameras, the improvement is particularly pronounced under sparse-view settings, where ambiguity is high and learning-based priors become especially beneficial. Gaussians on Fire: High-Frequency Reconstruction of Flames

We propose a method to reconstruct dynamic fire in 3D from a limited set of camera views with a Gaussian-based spatiotemporal representation. Capturing and reconstructing fire and its dynamics is highly challenging due to its volatile nature, transparent quality, and multitude of high-frequency features. Despite these challenges, we aim to reconstruct fire from only three views, which consequently requires solving for under-constrained geometry. We solve this by separating the static background from the dynamic fire region by combining dense multi-view stereo images with monocular depth priors. The fire is initialized as a 3D flow field, obtained by fusing per-view dense optical flow projections. To capture the high frequency features of fire, each 3D Gaussian encodes a lifetime and linear velocity to match the dense optical flow. To ensure sub-frame temporal alignment across cameras we employ a custom hardware synchronization pattern -- allowing us to reconstruct fire with affordable commodity hardware. Our quantitative and qualitative validations across numerous reconstruction experiments demonstrate robust performance for diverse and challenging real fire scenarios.

SPFSplatV2: Efficient Self-Supervised Pose-Free 3D Gaussian Splatting from Sparse Views

We introduce SPFSplatV2, an efficient feed-forward framework for 3D Gaussian splatting from sparse multi-view images, requiring no ground-truth poses during training or inference. The framework employs a shared feature extraction backbone to jointly predict 3D Gaussian primitives and camera poses in a canonical space from unposed inputs. To enable efficient and accurate pose estimation, we introduce a masked attention mechanism for target-view pose prediction and a reprojection loss that enforces pixel-aligned Gaussian primitives, providing stronger geometric constraints. We further demonstrate the compatibility of our training framework with different reconstruction architectures, resulting in two model variants. Remarkably, despite the absence of pose supervision, our method achieves state-of-the-art performance in both in-domain and out-of-domain novel view synthesis, even under extreme viewpoint changes and limited image overlap. It also surpasses many methods that rely on geometric supervision in relative pose estimation. By eliminating dependence on ground-truth poses, our method offers the scalability to leverage larger and more diverse datasets. Reconstructing cardiac motion from CMR sequences is critical for diagnosis, prognosis, and intervention. Existing methods rely on complete CMR stacks to infer full heart motion, limiting their applicability during intervention when only sparse observations are available. We present TetHeart, the first end-to-end framework for unified 4D heart mesh recovery from both offline full-stack and intra-procedural sparse-slice observations. Our method leverages deformable tetrahedra to capture shape and motion in a coherent space shared across cardiac structures. Before a procedure, it initializes detailed, patient-specific heart meshes from high-quality full stacks, which can then be updated using whatever slices can be obtained in real-time, down to a single one during the procedure. TetHeart incorporates several key innovations: (i) an attentive slice-adaptive 2D-3D feature assembly mechanism that integrates information from arbitrary numbers of slices at any position; (ii) a distillation strategy to ensure accurate reconstruction under extreme sparsity; and (iii) a weakly supervised motion learning scheme requiring annotations only at keyframes, such as the end-diastolic and end-systolic phases. Trained and validated on three large public datasets and evaluated zero-shot on additional private interventional and public datasets without retraining, TetHeart achieves state-of-the-art accuracy and strong generalization in both pre- and intra-procedural settings. SparseLGS: Sparse View Language Embedded Gaussian Splatting

Recently, several studies have combined Gaussian Splatting to obtain scene representations with language embeddings for open-vocabulary 3D scene understanding. While these methods perform well, they essentially require very dense multi-view inputs, limiting their applicability in real-world scenarios. In this work, we propose SparseLGS to address the challenge of 3D scene understanding with pose-free and sparse view input images. Our method leverages a learning-based dense stereo model to handle pose-free and sparse inputs, and a three-step region matching approach to address the multi-view semantic inconsistency problem, which is especially important for sparse inputs. Different from directly learning high-dimensional CLIP features, we extract low-dimensional information and build bijections to avoid excessive learning and storage costs. We introduce a reconstruction loss during semantic training to improve Gaussian positions and shapes. To the best of our knowledge, we are the first to address the 3D semantic field problem with sparse pose-free inputs. Experimental results show that SparseLGS achieves comparable quality when reconstructing semantic fields with fewer inputs (3-4 views) compared to previous SOTA methods with dense input. Besides, when using the same sparse input, SparseLGS leads significantly in quality and heavily improves the computation speed (5×\timesspeedup). Project page: https://ustc3dv.github.io/SparseLGS
