Backward SDEs-based Diffusion for Physics-Constrained Generation

Pretrained score-based diffusion models provide strong unconditional priors, yet enforcing measurement or physics consistency in inverse problems is often handled by heuristic guidance, intermittent projections, or task-specific conditional training, with limited guarantees of feasibility at the end of inference. We propose terminal-conditioned inversion for score-based SDE priors. Given a frozen Score-SDE prior and a task-defined terminal feasibility specification, we construct an associated backward stochastic differential equation whose adapted solution defines a principled inverse map from the terminal requirement to a prior state at a chosen noise level. Under standard regularity conditions, we establish existence and uniqueness of the adapted solution and obtain terminal consistency by construction. We further develop a practical neural BSDE solver that composes arbitrary pretrained diffusion priors with domain constraints without modifying the score-defined coefficients, producing an anchored prior state that enables neighborhood sampling for uncertainty characterization. Experiments on toy datasets validate stable terminal-conditioned inversion and distributionally consistent neighborhood sampling. As a real-world case study, we apply the framework to sparse-view CT reconstruction and achieve improved reconstruction quality over representative training-free baselines while satisfying strict measurement feasibility under the prescribed terminal specification. Advanced Brain Tissue Imaging with Data-Consistent Diffusion Priors in Laminographic X-Ray Nanoimaging

Nanoscale imaging of mammalian brains is critical for connectomics. X-ray laminography enables high-throughput imaging of extended, plate-like biological specimens. However, the tilted acquisition geometry leads to incomplete Fourier-space coverage, giving rise to a missing-cone of information. Conventional reconstruction methods cannot recover unmeasured information within the cone, resulting in artifacts that distort fine brain structures. While resolving these requires modeling 3D structure, direct 3D deep learning approaches are limited by data scarcity and computational cost. Here we introduce LUCID (Laminography with Unified Consistent Diffusion), a framework that combines multi-view diffusion priors with projection-domain data consistency. LUCID integrates complementary 3D structural information while enforcing strict alignment with the laminography forward model. On simulated datasets, LUCID substantially improves spatial fidelity and restores missing Fourier components, outperforming baseline methods. Applied to experimental laminography data, LUCID generalizes robustly despite being trained exclusively on fully sampled tomographic volumes, and effectively recovers unmeasured Fourier information.

GSComplete: Gaussian Splat Completion with 2D Diffusion Priors

Gaussian splats provide a fast, high-fidelity representation for 3D objects but are often constructed from incomplete input data in practice, leaving missing regions. Existing completion methods either do not preserve the original splats or require scarcely available 3D training data. We propose GSComplete, which combines 3D generation based on Score Distillation Sampling with a novel preservation loss that encourages the original splats to be preserved where they should be visible. This effectively completes the Gaussian splat object using only 2D diffusion priors while fully preserving existing splats and generating new splats only in missing regions, without occluding the input. To evaluate our approach, we introduce a new dataset of partial Gaussian splat objects and show that GSComplete achieves significantly more accurate preservation of the input than existing methods with comparable plausibility of the completed result. Our code and dataset will be made available upon acceptance.

DualDiff3D: Dual Structure-Appearance Diffusion Priors for Reliability-Enhanced 3D Gaussian Splatting

While 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) has revolutionized 3D reconstruction and novel-view synthesis, scenarios with limited input views often lead to poor reconstruction quality and artifacts in rendered novel views. Recent efforts attempt to utilize powerful diffusion priors, yet they typically process rendered and reference views concatenated along an additional dimension in a single network. These methods overlook an inherent nature that different views should maintain appearance similarity but differ in structure due to view shifts, leading to blur caused by conflicts between the two properties. In this paper, we propose DualDiff, a novel pipeline that leverages dual diffusion priors with a Structure-Appearance Attention (SAA) module to introduce reference guidance for refining low-quality novel views rendered from flawed 3D representations. Specifically, we retain one diffusion branch to focus on extracting structural information from the low-quality novel views, while introducing another branch to ensure appearance consistency with reference views. Furthermore, we present a 3D reconstruction framework named DualDiff3D, which integrates a reliability-enhanced Render-Refine-Optimize (RRO) loop to progressively and robustly incorporate the refined novel views, yielding more accurate 3DGS. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our approach outperforms state-of-the-art methods even in the inference-only setting, with further performance gains achievable through training. Our code and pre-trained weights are available at https://github.com/Akaneqwq/DualDiff3D.

ADAPT: Agile Diffusion Action Priors for Robust and Steerable Online Text-Driven Humanoid Control

We present ADAPT, an end-to-end framework for interactive, text-conditioned humanoid whole-body control. Unlike dominant text-to-motion pipelines that generate kinematic motions for a separate tracker, ADAPT solves language control with an end-to-end closed-loop control framework, where the robot must continuously respond to changing commands while maintaining balance, natural motion, and smooth transitions. ADAPT learns a diffusion-based action prior from text-labeled humanoid state-action trajectories, enabling diverse motion skills to be directly executed from language commands. To improve long-horizon robustness and smooth prompt switching, we train a lightweight residual reinforcement learning policy on top of the frozen diffusion controller. We further show that the same diffusion policy can be reused as a steerable text-conditioned motion prior for downstream task adaptation. Experiments demonstrate robust language-grounded skill execution, smooth interactive transitions, and style-preserving downstream control.

A Posterior-Dynamics Framework for Imaging Inverse Problems with Pretrained Diffusion Priors

Pretrained diffusion models represent image distributions through a continuum of progressively smoothed distributions. This multiscale structure organizes generation from global structure to fine detail and supports high-quality, diverse samples. We exploit the same multiscale diffusion prior for linear imaging inverse problems. Rather than using the pretrained model only as a denoiser in an outer iteration, we define a surrogate likelihood whose center is aligned with the clean-image coordinate and whose covariance accounts for residual diffusion uncertainty. This construction defines an explicit surrogate posterior path, from which we derive continuous posterior dynamics. A tunable Langevin component supports target tracking and allows the amount of posterior exploration to be adapted to the application. We prove endpoint consistency and a finite-horizon tracking bound and, in the exact-score setting, first-order weak accuracy. For computation, we derive the Posterior-Dynamics Implicit--Explicit sampler (PD-IMEX), a stable method using one score evaluation per diffusion scale and an implicit data-consistency update. Experiments on deblurring, super-resolution, and inpainting show strong reconstruction quality at 100 score evaluations, coarse-grid stability, and controllable fidelity--diversity behavior.

Dual Modality Prompted Diffusion Priors for Zero Shot Hyperspectral Pansharpening

Hyperspectral pansharpening aims to reconstruct a high resolution hyperspectral (HRHS) image from a panchromatic (PAN) image and a low resolution hyperspectral (LRHS) image while preserving both spatial details and spectral fidelity. Recent diffusion based methods exploit pretrained image priors by generating a low dimensional representation and subsequently mapping it to the hyperspectral domain. However, the observed panchromatic and hyperspectral images are typically imposed only through external reconstruction objectives, limiting their direct interaction with the diffusion prior. To address this issue, we propose dual-modality image-prompted diffusion model (DIDM) for zero shot hyperspectral pansharpening. DIDM encodes the low resolution hyperspectral and panchromatic observations into spectral and spatial prompt tokens, respectively, and injects them into intermediate features of a frozen remote sensing diffusion model through cross attention, allowing complementary spectral and spatial information to directly guide diffusion feature evolution. In addition, we introduce a panchromatic guided weighted pixel aware total variation regularizer that combines low resolution hyperspectral degradation fidelity and panchromatic response fidelity with gradient adaptive structural regularization, thereby preserving structural discontinuities while suppressing spurious variations in homogeneous regions. Extensive experiments on Pavia, Chikusei, and Houston under reduced resolution protocols show that DIDM achieves the best performance across all evaluated metrics, while full resolution evaluation on FR1 yields the highest HQNR among the compared methods. These results demonstrate that internal dual modality prompting and panchromatic guided structural regularization provide an effective balance between spatial detail enhancement and spectral preservation.

High-Quality Exposure Correction with Diffusion-Based Image Generation Priors

Although most existing exposure correction methods achieve high fidelity, they often place excessive focus on overall pixel-wise accuracy, making it challenging to effectively model extreme exposure regions, which results in suboptimal perceptual quality. Recently, diffusion models have received significant attention due to their remarkable performance in the realm of image generation. However, their successful application to exposure correction remains a challenging and open question. The key challenge lies in generating accurate image structures and maintaining high image fidelity during stochastic diffusion processes. In this paper, we propose DPEC (Diffusion Prior-based Exposure Correction), a novel framework for image exposure correction that utilizes diffusion-based image generation priors encapsulated in pre-trained large-scale diffusion models. Specifically, we first propose an efficient fine-tuning strategy to derive an exposure corrector from pre-trained models, enabling the generation of enhanced images in a single-step denoising process. Moreover, we seamlessly combine the strengths of diffusion models and regression models, and design a joint cross-attention module to integrate multi-scale diffusion prior features, thereby effectively preserving high-frequency details and minimizing random artifacts. The diffusion model focuses on dealing with low-frequency content rather than all the intricate texture details. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed DPEC method consistently outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods on multiple exposure correction datasets, whether in terms of fidelity, perceptual quality, or visual effects.

Noise-Free One-Step LoRA for Task-Driven Image Restoration with Diffusion Priors

Degraded images not only reduce visual quality but also impair downstream high-level vision tasks. Task-driven image restoration (TDIR) addresses this issue by jointly optimizing restoration quality and task performance. Recent works show that pretrained diffusion priors benefit TDIR, yet diffusion-based restoration is inherently stochastic, as the sampling process depends on a random noise term, which can undermine task consistency. In this paper, we show that a deterministic, noise-free one-step forward pass with pretrained diffusion priors can substantially improve TDIR, but the benefit critically depends on the adaptation module: LoRA yields consistent gains, whereas ControlNet-style conditioning does not. This enables one-step forwarding that surpasses conventional multi-step diffusion TDIR baselines. Furthermore, we introduce a task-preserving GAN training strategy that improves perceptual quality without sacrificing task performance. Extensive experiments on classification, segmentation, and detection demonstrate consistent gains over prior TDIR methods, and we further validate generalization on real-world degraded images and OCR.

SILICA: Repurposing Diffusion Priors for Joint Glass Segmentation and Depth Estimation

Standard depth sensors systematically fail on transparent surfaces, creating corrupted 3D maps and severe navigation hazards. While specialized hardware sensors can detect glass, they lack modularity and have extensive hardware dependencies. Consequently, learning-based monocular depth estimation has emerged as a compelling alternative. However, domain-specific glass-aware monocular depth estimators struggle with unfamiliar indoor layouts; restricted by the severe scarcity of real-world glass depth annotations, they fail to generalize zero-shot to new settings. This motivates us to explore whether the extensive priors of text-to-image diffusion models can enable generalizable perception of transparent surfaces. We introduce SILICA, a unified pipeline leveraging these priors to jointly predict glass segmentation and glass-aware depth. This mutual information exchange establishes a robust spatial hierarchy, entirely eliminating the need for paired real-world glass depth annotations. Subsequently, we use the predicted segmentation mask to explicitly filter incorrect glass depth points from standard sensors, recovering accurate metric glass depth for downstream 3D mapping and autonomous collision avoidance. Supported by our novel Mirage 18k dataset, extensive experiments demonstrate that SILICA achieves remarkable zero-shot transfer across diverse, unseen environments, outperforming state-of-the-art models by almost 20% and setting a new benchmark for transparent surface perception.

AniGS: Bridging Rendering and Diffusion Prior for 3D Scene Animation

Novel view rendering of large and complex reconstructed scenes is becoming increasingly photorealistic. However, most reconstructions remain static and lack the ambient motion that makes environments immersive. We present AniGS, a method for scene-level animation of 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) reconstructions that adds subtle, distributed dynamics, e.g., vegetation motion, while preserving rigid structures. Unlike existing 3D animation techniques which are limited to object-centric subjects or small regions, AniGS is designed for large, cluttered, navigable scenes. AniGS represents the scene with a canonical 3DGS and models motion using a time-conditioned deformation field. To animate the entire scene, we leverage a pretrained video diffusion model and introduce an iterative dataset--model update strategy that progressively expands viewpoint coverage and repeatedly updates camera-fixed training videos using a render-and-refine scheme. To prevent artifacts from unintended motion in static areas, we further introduce a composed video-to-video refinement scheme that restricts motion to desired regions. Experiments on five real-world, large-scale outdoor scenes demonstrate that AniGS produces natural ambient dynamics and high-quality novel view videos, enabling more immersive viewing experiences of reconstructed environments.

Motion Planning with Model-Based Diffusion via Constraint Optimization and Adaptive Scheduling

Single-Robot Motion Planning (SRMP) in highly non-convex constrained environments, where robots must satisfy collision-free guarantees, dynamic feasibility, and task-related constraints, is challenging under complex constraints and computational limits. Recent Model-Based Diffusion (MBD) approaches recast the SRMP as trajectory optimization that samples from a posterior over trajectories, using known dynamics, and analytically estimates the score function from rollout samples to guide diffusion denoising toward a low-cost, clean trajectory without demonstration learning. While existing works further adapt MBD to constrained environments and showcase promising performance, they are still limited by (1) enforcing safety either via soft feasibility diffusion priors or hard projection operators, but lack a unified framework to integrate both, and (2) fixing safety enforcement to neglect the changing of diffusion scheduling. Therefore, we introduce Model-Based Diffusion via Constraint Optimization and Adaptive Scheduling (MD-COAS) for SRMP that unifies the inexact Augmented Lagrangian Method (iALM) soft diffusion prior with a Convex Feasible Set (CFS)-based hard projection operator, and adaptively schedules and co-optimizes safety enforcement, along with diffusion scheduling. Experiments demonstrate that our method achieves higher safety & success rates, faster convergence, and lower final costs than baseline planners on randomly generated highly non-convex 2D benchmarks and a 7-DoF robot arm avoidance task.

Exact and Calibrated Diffusion Reconstruction for Digital Breast Tomosynthesis

Limited-angle digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) reconstructs a volume from a few low-dose projections over a narrow arc. At a representative nine-view, 2525^{\circ} protocol more than 98% of image space is unmeasured, so a learned prior must supply structure in the missing wedge. Conditional diffusion priors achieve strong perceptual quality here but leave three clinical obstacles: inexact data consistency, unlocalized hallucination, and uncalibrated uncertainty. We enforce measurements exactly by replacing the per-step proximal update of a conditional diffusion sampler with exact Euclidean projection onto the data-consistent set, computed via an mm-dimensional dual system with a one-time Gram matrix AAAA^{\top} factorization. This projection costs 4.5 ms per step (a 248×248\times speedup) and drives the data residual to the double-precision floor (2.4×10132.4\times10^{-13}). We prove it is the ρ0ρ\to0 limit of the proximal step, provide a no-harm theorem, and show that exactly consistent sample ensembles have variance supported on null(AA). Thus, the mean's entire error lies in the unmeasured subspace covered by the uncertainty map. On patient-derived breast phantoms, this improves fidelity at no depth-resolution cost. Conversely, a proximal step applied post-update degrades quality, isolating the consistency step's placement as decisive. Isotonic recalibration brings the ensemble spread to a calibrated error scale (expected calibration error 0.0290.0080.029\to0.008; standardized error 4.70.964.7\to0.96), ranking errors better than the pure prior. We also repair a 20.3% adjoint mismatch in a deployed projector via a materialized operator of record. This is the first data-consistent, uncertainty-calibrated learned reconstruction for limited-angle DBT. The solver naturally relaxes to discrepancy-ball and maximum-a-posteriori modes for noisy measurements.

Joint Velocity Slope Diffusion Prior for Structurally Constrained Velocity Model Building

High-resolution velocity models are crucial for reservoir characterization and subsurface delineation. However, the band limited nature of our surface recorded data limits resolution. Utilizing well measurements to enhance the resolution of our subsurface models is an important objective. To this end, we present a diffusion-guided framework for structurally preconditioned velocity-model reconstruction from sparse well-log information. The proposed approach combines plane-wave PDE regularization, structurally preconditioned inversion, and measurement-guided diffusion posterior sampling within a unified formulation. Local structural slopes estimated through plane-wave destruction are used both to propagate well information along geological dip directions and to guide the diffusion sampling process through a joint velocity--slope generative prior. Numerical experiments on the Volve synthetic model and the Viking Graben field dataset demonstrate that the proposed framework improves structural continuity, lateral consistency, and geological realism compared with conventional structurally preconditioned inversion approaches while maintaining computationally practical inference through DDIM sampling.

AVSR-Diff: Scale-Agnostic Diffusion Priors for Temporally Consistent Arbitrary-Scale Video Super-Resolution

Diffusion models have significantly advanced video super-resolution (VSR) but remain largely constrained to fixed upsampling scales. Conversely, while coordinate-based arbitrary-scale VSR methods offer scale flexibility, they inherently suffer from severe over-smoothing at large scaling factors. Integrating generative priors with continuous decoding is promising but currently hindered by severe temporal flickering caused by the stochasticity of diffusion sampling. To address this, we propose AVSR-Diff (Arbitrary-scale Video Super-Resolution with Diffusion), a novel decoupled framework that separates scale-agnostic latent denoising from continuous coordinate rendering, effectively avoiding computationally heavy resolution-specific sampling. Our approach introduces a Temporally-Gated Feature Recurrence (TGFR) module to extract strictly aligned, temporally consistent latent priors. Furthermore, we design a continuous video VAE decoder incorporating a Scale-Aware Fourier Refinement (SAFR) module to dynamically adapt frequency components to any target scale. Extensive experiments demonstrate that AVSR-Diff consistently preserves high-frequency details and strong temporal stability across various scales, surpassing state-of-the-art arbitrary-scale baselines. Remarkably, our framework outperforms recent fixed-scale generative models even on their native resolution.

Occlusion-Robust Multi-Object Decoupling for Physics-Based Robotic Interaction

We propose a mask-free method for lossless multi-object 3D reconstruction from sparse and occluded real-world views, enabling physically plausible robotic interaction via Material Point Method (MPM) simulation. Our key insight is that object coupling stems from occlusion and limited viewpoints, which we address by formulating multi-object decoupling as a sparse-view reconstruction problem. Using 3D Gaussian Splatting as base representation, we first obtain coarse instance partitions with a SAM2-trained segmentation field. Rather than relying on masks, we reconstruct fragmented geometries by leveraging a joint Score Distillation Sampling (SDS) process, which integrates reference-view supervision with novel-view synthesis guided by 2D and 3D diffusion priors to enforce both texture fidelity and 3D consistency. Furthermore, we incorporate geometry-aware priors such as intra-object and inter-object similarity to regularize geometric reasoning. Experimental results demonstrate that our method produces complete, simulation-ready 3D objects without requiring manual masks, enabling realistic dynamic interactions on both synthetic, robotic and real-world datasets.

Monocular Avatar Reconstruction via Cascaded Diffusion Priors and UV-Space Differentiable Shading

Reconstructing high-fidelity, relightable 3D avatars from a single in-the-wild image is a challenging ill-posed problem, primarily hindered by the scarcity of high-quality PBR data and the complexity of disentangling illumination from intrinsic materials. In this paper, we present a data-efficient framework that leverages the robust priors of a unified pre-trained diffusion backbone to sequentially address texture completion, delighting, and material decomposition. Unlike existing methods that rely on fragmented pipelines or extensive proprietary datasets, we utilize cascaded Low-Rank Adaptations (LoRAs) to adapt the strong generative prior of the diffusion model for each sub-task in UV space. Specifically, we first employ an Inpainting LoRA to complete missing UV textures caused by occlusion, leveraging the model's semantic understanding to generate semantically and photometrically coherent details. Subsequently, a Light-Homogenization LoRA and a novel Cross-Intrinsic Attention mechanism are introduced to remove baked-in lighting and collaboratively synthesize pixel-aligned PBR maps (Albedo, Normal, Roughness, Specular, and Displacement). To ensure physical plausibility, we impose a UV-space differentiable BRDF shading loss during the decomposition stage, forcing the generative process to adhere to the rendering equation without the artifacts typical of rasterization-based supervision. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method, trained on fewer than 100 real 3D scans, generates comprehensive, 4K-resolution PBR assets with superior realism and generalization compared to state-of-the-art methods, and all training code and model weights will be released upon acceptance.

Deep Learning Approaches for 3D Medical Scene Completion: From Geometric Modeling to Generative Paradigms

Three-dimensional scene completion has evolved as a major problem in computer vision and robotics, and its applications are diverse, including autonomous navigation and augmented reality. In this study, a systematic review has been conducted to compile the research contributions made in the last ten years, i.e., 2016 to 2026, which has revolutionized the field from the voxel semantic completion paradigm represented by SSCNet to the latest paradigm that combines generative diffusion priors with real-time rendering using a Gaussian splatting technique. The evolution in representation paradigms, such as voxel grids, point learning, implicit neural fields, transformer networks, diffusion networks, and the latest paradigm based on rendering-aware 3D Gaussian primitives, has been discussed in this study. A comprehensive analysis has been carried out on the contributions made in the last ten years, and a taxonomy has been developed to provide a clear idea about the contributions made in the field. The study has also discussed the research contributions made in the field, along with the challenges that still need to be addressed. Finally, the study has presented a research agenda that will provide a clear idea about the directions that can be followed in the development of the next-generation system

Decoupled Latent Optimization of Diffusion Models for Full Waveform Inversion

Full waveform inversion (FWI) recovers subsurface velocity from seismic recordings by solving a severely ill-posed, nonconvex PDE-constrained optimization. Classical regularizers stabilize the inversion but fail to reproduce realistic geological structures; recent diffusion-prior methods improve realism at the cost of a fragile trade-off between data fidelity and prior consistency. We propose Decoupled Latent Optimization (DLO), which relaxes the standard latent-optimization formulation into a quadratic-penalty objective over an auxiliary physical variable and a latent variable. The data-fidelity gradient acts in physical space, the diffusion sampler contributes only through a decoded prior sample, and the standard smoothed-velocity initialization of classical FWI is preserved. On the OpenFWI benchmark, DLO outperforms classical regularizers and existing diffusion-based methods under clean, noisy, and missing-trace acquisitions. The prior, trained on 70*70 OpenFWI models, transfers directly to the Marmousi and Overthrust benchmarks, where DLO recovers intricate fault structures and remains robust to initialization smoothing and measurement noise.

BSTabDiff: Block-Subunit Diffusion Priors for High-Dimensional Tabular Data Generation

High-Dimensional Low-Sample Size (HDLSS) tabular domains (e.g., omics) are characterized by nmn \ll m, where nn = number of samples, and mm = number of features. Such domains often exhibit strong local correlation groups, sparse cross-group dependencies, heavy-tailed non-Gaussian marginals, heteroscedastic noise, and structured missingness, making direct density learning in Rm\mathbb{R}^m ill-conditioned since nmn \ll m. We propose BSTabDiff, a block-subunit generative framework that partitions the mm observed features into MM latent blocks (MmM \ll m) and generates each block via a shared low-dimensional subunit variable, concentrating global dependence learning in the compact block-latent space RM\mathbb{R}^M while decoding to the full feature space with copula-driven dependence, flexible per-feature marginals, and explicit missingness mechanisms. BSTabDiff supports modern deep priors on block latents, including diffusion and normalizing flows, enabling stable synthesis and controllable benchmark generation in the HDLSS regime. Empirically, BSTabDiff produces more realistic and stable high-dimensional synthetic data when compared with unstructured tabular generators on HDLSS data.

Reflection Separation from a Single Image via Joint Latent Diffusion

Single-image reflection separation is highly challenging under extreme conditions like glare or weak reflections. Existing methods often struggle to recover both layers in glare or weak-reflection scenarios because of insufficient information. This paper presents a diffusion model explicitly fine-tuned for this task, leveraging generative diffusion priors for robust separation. Our method simultaneously generates transmission and reflection layers through a unified diffusion model, incorporating a novel cross-layer self-attention mechanism for better feature disentanglement. We further introduce a disjoint sampling strategy to iteratively reduce interference between the layers during diffusion and a latent optimization step with a learned composition function for improved results in complex real-world scenarios. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our approach surpasses state-of-the-art methods on multiple real-world benchmarks. Project page: https://brian90709.github.io/diff-reflection-separation/

Bayesian Tensor Decomposition with Diffusion Model Prior

Low-rank tensor decomposition (TD) is usually effective on clean, fully observed data, but it often degrades under severe missingness or noise. Low-rankness is itself a useful but limited structural prior, and additional handcrafted priors (e.g., sparsity or smoothness) still fall short of capturing the rich statistics of real-world data. To compensate for this weak inductive bias under heavy corruption, one would like to inject a learned, data-driven prior; however, the state-of-the-art diffusion models are not readily compatible with current TD and tractable posterior inference. To address these challenges, we introduce DiffBCP, a hybrid-prior Bayesian CP decomposition framework that couples a cumulative shrinkage process prior over the CP factors for automatic rank selection with an off-the-shelf pre-trained diffusion model as an implicit data prior on the reconstructed tensor. To make posterior inference tractable despite the coupling among the likelihood, low-rank constraint, and diffusion prior, we develop a split Gibbs sampler: CP factors admit conjugate updates, while the diffusion block is sampled via low-rank-guided denoising. A noise-adaptive coupling schedule further reduces sensitivity to hand-tuned annealing. Experiments on image inpainting and denoising, including high-resolution out-of-distribution images, show consistent gains over Bayesian, nonlinear, and plug-and-play TD baselines.

RMPrior: Bridging Propagation Priors and Diffusion Refinement for Efficient Radio Map Construction

Diffusion models achieve high-fidelity radio map construction through iterative denoising, yet their sampling cost limits practicality in dynamic wireless systems where radio maps must be refreshed repeatedly. Meanwhile, classical propagation models encode valuable scene-level knowledge that standard diffusion inference discards entirely by initializing from pure Gaussian noise. This paper bridges propagation priors and diffusion refinement through a mid-start sampling strategy. A matched propagation prior is perturbed to an intermediate diffusion timestep, and the pretrained diffusion backbone executes only the remaining reverse steps, focusing computation on multipath-aware refinement rather than full reconstruction from noise. We provide theoretical analysis establishing an upper bound on the initialization gap, a sufficient condition under which truncation improves reconstruction fidelity, and a formal characterization of prior-quality sensitivity under aggressive truncation. Experiments on IRT4HighRes show that, at Pstart=0.5P_{\text{start}}=0.5, the proposed method achieves a 2.01×2.01\times speedup while simultaneously improving NMSE, RMSE, SSIM, and PSNR over the full-step baseline. A prior-quality ablation across three propagation models of different fidelity confirms that reconstruction quality tracks prior quality, with the sensitivity amplified under shorter reverse trajectories, consistent with the theoretical predictions. These results also suggest that mid-start reconstruction quality can serve as a proxy for ranking the scene-level fidelity of different propagation models.

Hallucination-Aware Diffusion Sampling for Inverse Problems via Robust Prior Updates

Diffusion-based inverse problem solvers can produce realistic reconstructions, but realism alone does not ensure that the recovered details are supported by the measurement. We study this failure as measurement-conditioned hallucination: visually meaningful content that is either implausible or inconsistent with the measured instance. Our analysis separates Bayes-rule-based diffusion inverse solvers into a prior update and a measurement-conditioning step, showing that hallucinated content can enter through the prior-side proposal before the measurement correction is applied. Motivated by this view, we propose Robust Prior Update (RPU), a solver-level module that probes the local stability of the diffusion prior update, re-anchors the resulting displacement at the current iterate, and leaves the measurement update unchanged. We instantiate RPU in DPS and evaluate it on FFHQ and ImageNet inverse problems using automatic metrics and human faithfulness studies. On FFHQ, RPU improves PSNR and LPIPS over DPS across box inpainting, Gaussian deblurring, and motion deblurring. In human judgments, RPU receives 91.9% of blind non-tie majority preferences and 91.1% of ground-truth-assisted non-tie preferences on FFHQ box inpainting, while the ImageNet Gaussian reader study is tie-heavy but favors RPU among non-tie cases. These results support a targeted claim: robustifying the prior update can improve instance faithfulness in diffusion inverse solvers, especially when the prior shapes weakly constrained content.

Splatshot: 3D Face Avatar Generation from a Single Unconstrained Photo

Reconstructing a photorealistic 3D face avatar from a single unconstrained photograph is challenging: feed-forward 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) models degrade on out-of-distribution inputs, while pretrained diffusion models produce high-fidelity images but lack multi-view consistency. We observe that these paradigms are fundamentally complementary: explicit 3D representations guarantee geometric consistency, whereas 2D diffusion priors ensure photorealism. Building on this, we propose SplatShot, a training-free framework that couples these representations directly within the denoising process. Given a base 3DGS face model and a single reference image, we jointly denoise all target views using a per-step 3D feedback loop. At each timestep, we predict clean images from the noisy latents, refit the 3DGS to these multi-view predictions, and back-propagate the photometric discrepancy between the 3DGS re-renderings and 2D predictions into the noise estimate. This steers the sampling trajectory toward strictly 3D-coherent, identity-faithful outputs. Experiments on diverse in-the-wild images demonstrate that SplatShot produces 3D avatars with superior identity preservation, photorealism, and multi-view consistency.

Generative Diffusion Priors for 3D Mapping of the Dark Universe

Reconstructing the three-dimensional distribution of dark matter from weak-lensing observations is a central but highly ill-posed inverse problem in cosmology. Unlike standard 3D reconstruction with multiple viewpoints, we observe the universe from a single line of sight, through noisy shape distortions of galaxies with uncertain distances, so meaningful recovery of the 3D matter field requires strong prior assumptions. Existing methods either produce point estimates with handcrafted priors or use neural ensembles for approximate Bayesian uncertainty, and struggle to capture the non-Gaussian, filamentary structure of the cosmic web. With the advent of new high-resolution cosmological simulations, we now have an alternative source of prior knowledge that captures the nonlinear statistics of structure formation with far greater fidelity than analytic prescriptions. We leverage these simulations to build a new dataset Conicus3D\texttt{Conicus3D}, which enables us to learn a data-driven diffusion-model prior capturing the full 3D distribution of dark matter structure across cosmic time. Building on recent plug-and-play approaches, we modify a diffusion-based posterior sampling scheme to the 3D weak-lensing setting, combining the learned prior with a differentiable physical forward model. On realistic simulations targeting a modern weak lensing survey, our approach yields substantially improved 2D and 3D reconstruction accuracy over baseline methods. Moreover, it produces posterior samples whose statistics closely track the underlying simulations, while remaining robust to moderate shifts in cosmology.

KLIP: localized distribution shift detection via KL-divergence with diffusion priors in Inverse Problems

Diffusion models have shown promising performance as data-driven priors for computational imaging, as well as some capacity to detect out-of-distribution (OOD) images. However, existing approaches to OOD detection often require some knowledge of the shifted distribution, fail to detect subtle or localized distribution shifts, and operate on full images, rather than the indirect measurements available in inverse problems. We propose an OOD detection metric based on the Kullback-Leibler divergence between the diffusion prior and the posterior distribution, that (i) does not require any calibration data or knowledge of the shifted distribution, and (ii) can detect whole images as OOD as well as localize OOD patches within an image. Experimentally, we show that this metric can detect subtle yet semantically meaningful distribution shifts, such as the shift from healthy liver CT scans to those with tumors, and generalizes across different types of diffusion models, datasets, and inverse problems. Our code can be found at https://github.com/voilalab/KLIP.

Audio Pirates: Black-box Audio Watermark Removal via Diffusion Priors

With the rise of AI-generated audio, watermarking has become widely used for detecting misuse and protecting intellectual property. However, adversaries may try to remove these watermarks, making it critical to evaluate how well watermarking schemes withstand removal attacks. Existing attacks are often impractical: they either noticeably degrade perceptual quality or require access to the watermarking scheme. We propose DiffErase, a black-box watermark removal attack that assumes no knowledge of the target watermarking scheme while maintaining perceptual quality. DiffErase perturbs watermarked audio to an intermediate diffusion noise level and regenerates it using a pretrained denoising model, effectively suppressing watermark signals. Theoretical analysis and extensive experiments demonstrate that inaudible audio watermarks are highly vulnerable: across multiple audio domains, DiffErase consistently removes watermarks while preserving perceptual quality. These findings highlight the need for future audio watermarking designs to consider diffusion-based threats. Code and demos are available at https://differase.github.io/DiffErase/.

Unbiased Diffusion Variational Inversion via Principled Posterior Matching

Existing score-based methods for inverse problems often resort to approximate minimization of the KL divergence between the inversion distribution and the Bayesian posterior. Such an approximation leads to severe mode collapse and unreliable uncertainty quantification. In this paper, we propose Principled Posterior Matching (PPM), a framework that returns to the fundamentals of variational inference, rather than using tricky approximations. Instead of relying on heuristic approximations, we rigorously formulate the exact optimization of the KL divergence via the integration of Fisher divergence. We derive a tractable, equivalent gradient form of this integral, enabling precise optimization without the biases introduced by prior approximations. Our analysis clearly reveals that the mode collapse in previous methods stems directly from this approximation gap. Supported by our theoretical solution, PPM unifies two complementary paradigms: (1) In variational inference, PPM adopts mass-covering divergences that significantly improve the inversion diversity and uncertainty quantification; (2) In amortized inference, it enables the training of an efficient reconstruction network for rapid, single-step reconstruction. Furthermore, our formulation naturally extends to a broader family of divergence measures by generalizing the integral of the Fisher divergence. We validate PPM across challenging computational imaging tasks, including inpainting, super-resolution fluorescent microscopy, and radio interferometric black-hole imaging. In all experiments, PPM achieves superior reconstruction fidelity, faithful multimodal posterior recovery, and well-calibrated uncertainty estimates, establishing a robust framework for scientific imaging.

Structural Energy Guidance for View-Consistent Text-to-3D Generation

Text-to-3D generation based on diffusion models often suffers from the Janus problem, leading to inconsistent geometry across viewpoints. This work identifies viewpoint bias in 2D diffusion priors as the main cause and proposes Structural Energy-Guided Sampling (SEGS), a training-free and plug-and-play framework to improve multi-view consistency. SEGS constructs a structural energy in the PCA subspace of U-Net features and injects its gradient into the denoising process. It can be easily integrated into SDS/VSD pipelines without retraining. Experiments show that SEGS reduces the Janus Rate by about 10% on average and improves View-CS scores across multiple baselines, including DreamFusion, Magic3D, and LucidDreamer. This method effectively alleviates viewpoint artifacts while preserving appearance fidelity, providing a flexible solution for high-quality text-to-3D content generation.

HAD: Hallucination-Aware Diffusion Priors for 3D Reconstruction

Diffusion priors have recently demonstrated strong capability in enhancing the quality of sparse-view 3D reconstruction by augmenting training views at novel viewpoints, but they inevitably introduce hallucinated content -- artifacts inconsistent with the input views -- into the final 3D model. To address this challenge, we propose Hallucination-Aware Diffusion prior (HAD), which estimates pixel-wise hallucination score maps for augmented images by leveraging multi-view reasoning capabilities from a feedforward novel view synthesis (NVS) network pre-trained on large-scale 3D data. These hallucination scores enable selective masking of unreliable pixels during the progressive 3D reconstruction procedure, preventing the introduction of non-existent artifacts into the 3D model. To further enhance performance, we create multiple versions of augmented images at each novel view by conditioning the diffusion prior on different input views, which are then fused into a final image that leverages the broader context across all input views. We show that our method substantially reduces hallucination artifacts in diffusion-assisted 3D reconstruction, thereby achieving state-of-the-art performance across multiple benchmarks on novel view synthesis. Unsupervised 3D Human Pose Estimation via Conditional Multi-view Ancestral Sampling

We propose a method of estimating a 3D human pose from a single view without 3D supervision. The key to our method is to leverage the 2D diffusion priors of motion diffusion models (MDMs) pre-trained on large 2D human pose datasets. Specifically, we extend multi-view ancestral sampling of diffusion models to the task of 2D-3D lifting of human pose. To this end, we newly propose a conditional multi-view ancestral sampling (cMAS) that optimizes the 3D pose such that its multi-view projections follow the manifold in 2D MDM noise space, while conditioning the 3D pose to match the given 2D poses and anatomical constraints of humans. Experiments on the Yoga dataset demonstrate that our method achieves better cross-domain performance compared to state-of-the-art supervised and unsupervised 3D pose estimation methods, including extreme human poses where 3D supervision is unavailable. Composing diffusion priors with explicit physical context via generative Gibbs sampling

Pretrained diffusion models provide powerful learned priors, but in scientific sampling the target distribution often depends on physical context that is not fully represented by one generative model. We introduce Generative Gibbs for Physics-Aware Sampling (GG-PA), a training-free framework that formulates the composition of learned partial priors and explicit physical context as inference over a joint target distribution in an augmented state space. We derive a Gibbs sampler for this joint target, show that it is asymptotically exact as the diffusion time approaches zero, and prove that in settings with quadratic interactions it remains exact at finite diffusion times. We further introduce replica exchange over diffusion time to accelerate mixing. Experiments on a double-well system, a φ4φ^4 lattice model, and atomistic peptide systems show that GG-PA recovers context-induced distribution shifts and emergent collective behavior in interacting systems using partial priors without retraining. These results demonstrate GG-PA as a practical approach for combining pretrained generative priors with explicit physical context.

ConFixGS: Learning to Fix Feedforward 3D Gaussian Splatting with Confidence-Aware Diffusion Priors in Driving Scenes

Feedforward 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) often struggles in trajectory-based sparse-view driving scenes. Existing Gaussian repair methods mainly target optimization-based 3DGS, while diffusion-based repair is typically restricted to iterative refinement near observed viewpoints, leaving feedforward 3DGS repair underexplored. We propose ConFixGS, a plug-and-play method that learns to fix feedforward 3DGS with confidence-aware diffusion priors. Starting from a pretrained feedforward model, ConFixGS generates diffusion-enhanced local pseudo-targets and validates them through reprojection-based cross-checking against support views. The resulting dense confidence maps guide refinement, enhancing reliable details while suppressing hallucinated or inconsistent evidence. On Waymo, nuScenes, and KITTI, ConFixGS improves challenging novel view synthesis, with PSNR gains of up to 3.68 dB and FID reduced by nearly half. Our results highlight confidence-aware fusion of generative priors and support-view consistency as a key principle for robust feedforward 3D driving scene reconstruction.

Probability-Flow Distillation: Exact Wasserstein Gradient Flow for High-Fidelity 3D Generation

Score Distillation Sampling (SDS) and its variants have been widely used for text-to-3D generation by distilling 2D image diffusion priors. However, the standard SDS objective is prone to severe mode collapse, frequently yielding over-smoothed and over-saturated results. Although recent advancements, such as Score Distillation via Inversion (SDI), mitigate these artifacts and produce visually sharper models, they ultimately fail to faithfully capture the full target distribution. In this work, we show that the bottleneck limiting the sampling capacity of SDI stems from its reliance on the posterior mean estimator, which is mathematically equivalent to a single-step Euler approximation of the deterministic reverse DDIM trajectory. To address this, we propose a naturally motivated extension termed Probability-Flow Distillation (PFD). We establish that PFD corresponds exactly to a Wasserstein gradient flow, thereby inducing principled distribution-matching dynamics. Finally, we show that PFD can synthesize 3D assets with fine-grained, high-fidelity details and achieve improved quality compared to existing methods.

Constraint-Aware Diffusion Priors for High-Fidelity and Versatile Quadruped Locomotion

Reinforcement learning combined with imitation learning has significantly advanced biomimetic quadrupedal locomotion. However, scaling these frameworks to massive, multi-source datasets exposes fundamental bottlenecks. First, traditional GAN-based discriminators are prone to mode collapse, struggling to capture diverse motion distributions from uncurated datasets. Second, existing kinematic priors suffer from out-of-distribution (OOD) tracking conflicts, leading to severe unintended heading drifts during complex maneuvers. Furthermore, deploying unconstrained priors to physical hardware poses critical safety risks by disregarding actuator dynamics. To overcome these challenges, we propose Diff-CAST (Diffusion-guided Constraint-Aware Symmetric Tracking), a novel motion prior framework leveraging the multi-modal distribution modeling capabilities of diffusion models for stylistic rewards. Diff-CAST effectively replaces traditional GAN discriminators, unlocking robust data scaling on heterogeneous collections. To ensure high-fidelity intent execution and reliable real-world deployment, we introduce a comprehensive Sim2Real architecture integrating Symmetric Augmented Command Conditioning (SACC) for drift-free tracking, and Constrained RL for hardware safety. Experiments on a quadruped demonstrate that Diff-CAST mitigates mode collapse, enables seamless transitions between diverse skills, and ensures robust, hardware-compliant locomotion.

Diffusion-Based Posterior Sampling: A Feynman-Kac Analysis of Bias and Stability

Diffusion-based posterior samplers use pretrained diffusion priors to sample from measurement- or reward-conditioned posteriors, and are widely used for inverse problems. Yet their theoretical behavior remains poorly understood: even with exact prior scores, their outputs are biased, and in low-temperature regimes their discretizations can become unstable. We characterize this bias by introducing a tractable surrogate path connecting the true posterior to a standard Gaussian and comparing it to the sampler's path. Their density ratio satisfies a parabolic PDE whose reaction term measures the accumulated bias. A Feynman-Kac representation then expresses the Radon-Nikodym correction as an explicit path expectation, identifying which posterior regions are over- or under-sampled. We apply this framework to DPS and STSL, a related sampler. For DPS, the correction is an Ornstein-Uhlenbeck path expectation coupling the data conditional covariance with the reward curvature, revealing where DPS over- or under-samples. Next, we reinterpret STSL as an auxiliary drift that steers trajectories toward low-uncertainty regions, flattening the spatially varying part of the DPS reaction term. Finally, we characterize early guidance-stopping, a common mitigation for low-temperature instabilities caused by forward-Euler integration of the vector field. Together, these results clarify sampler bias, explain existing correctives, and guide stable variant designs.

Bayesian Rain Field Reconstruction using Commercial Microwave Links and Diffusion Model Priors

Commercial Microwave Links (CMLs) offer dense spatial coverage for rainfall sensing but produce path-integrated measurements that make accurate ground-level reconstruction challenging. Existing methods typically oversimplify CMLs as point sensors and neglect line integration relating rainfall to signal attenuation, resulting in degraded performance under heterogeneous precipitation. In this work, we view rain field reconstruction as a Bayesian inverse problem with Diffusion Models (DMs) as high-fidelity spatial priors. We show that diffusion models better preserve key rainfall statistics compared to censored Gaussian processes. Framing rainfall estimation as a Bayesian inverse problem with a DM prior enables training-free posterior sampling using a broad family of methods, including Plug-and-Play, Sequential Monte Carlo, and Replica Exchange methods. Experiments on synthetic and real-world datasets demonstrate consistent improvements over established CML-based reconstruction baselines.

GeoTopoDiff: Learning Geometry--Topology Graph Priors through Boundary-Constrained Mixed Diffusion for Sparse-Slice 3D Porous Reconstruction

Diffusion-based voxel prior modelling is challenging for the reconstruction of large-scale 3D porous microstructures. Due to the demanding requirements for simultaneously modelling both the continuous pore morphology and the discrete pore-throat topology, the diffusion models require fully observed CT scans to provide topology-faithful priors, which results in an inherent trade-off among throughput, topological fidelity, and field of view in practical industrial applications. We propose GeoTopoDiff, a graph diffusion-based framework for reconstructing 3D porous microstructures from sparse CT slices. GeoTopoDiff transfers the learning of diffusion priors from a voxel-based space to a mixed graph state space, which simultaneously encompasses continuous pore geometry and discrete pore-throat topology. A topology-aware partial graph prior from sparsely observed CT slices is introduced to constrain the reverse denoising process. Experiments on anisotropic PTFE and Fontainebleau sandstone show that GeoTopoDiff reduces morphology-related errors by 19.8% and topology-sensitive transport errors by 36.5% on average. Our findings suggest that the mixed graph state space promotes the diffusion denoising process to reduce posterior uncertainty under a sparse observations. All models and code have been made publicly available to facilitate the exploration of diffusion models in the field of 3D porous microstructures simulation.

Tempered Guided Diffusion

Training-free conditional diffusion provides a flexible alternative to task-specific conditional model training, but existing samplers often allocate computation inefficiently: independent guided trajectories can vary widely in quality, and additional function evaluations along a single trajectory may not recover from poor early decisions. We propose Tempered Guided Diffusion (TGD), an annealed sequential Monte Carlo framework for training-free conditional sampling with diffusion priors. TGD targets tempered posterior distributions over the clean signal, using noisy diffusion states only as auxiliary variables for proposing reconstructions and propagating particles. Particles are reweighted by incremental likelihood ratios, resampled, and propagated across noise levels, concentrating computation on trajectories plausible under both the prior and observation. Under idealized exact-reconstruction assumptions, full TGD yields a consistent particle approximation to the posterior as the number of particles grows. For expensive reconstruction tasks, Accelerated TGD (A-TGD) retains early particle exploration but prunes to a single high-likelihood trajectory partway through sampling. Experiments on a controlled two-dimensional inverse problem and image inverse problems show improved posterior approximation and favorable wall-clock speed-quality tradeoffs over independent multi-trajectory baselines.

MOC-3D: Manifold-Order Consistency for Text-to-3D Generation

With the burgeoning development of fields such as the Metaverse, Virtual Reality (VR), and Digital Twins, text-to-3D generation has emerged as a research hotspot in both academia and industry. Currently, optimization methods based on Score Distillation Sampling (SDS) utilizing 2D diffusion priors have become the mainstream technological paradigm in this field. However, due to the view bias of 2D priors and the mode-seeking ambiguity combined with gradient noise induced by high Classifier-Free Guidance (CFG), these methods still suffer from macro-topological inconsistency (e.g., the Janus problem) and micro-geometric discontinuity. To address these challenges, we propose MOC-3D, a text-to-3D generation method based on geometric manifold and semantic view-order consistency. Built upon the ScaleDreamer framework, our method incorporates a Semantic View-Order Constraint Module and a Manifold-based Feature Continuity Module. The former aims to rectify macro-topological inconsistency, while the latter focuses on eliminating micro-geometric discontinuity. Specifically, the Semantic View-Order Constraint Module leverages the prior knowledge of CLIP to impose a Monotonicity Rank Constraint on semantic score representations across different views, thereby providing effective guidance for the global topological structure of 3D objects. Meanwhile, the Manifold-based Feature Continuity Module employs the Riemannian Metric on the Symmetric Positive Definite (SPD) manifold. By measuring the distance of feature statistical distributions in the Riemannian space, it promotes the smooth evolution and continuity of micro-textures across multi-views in a statistical sense. Under the macro-micro synergistic optimization of these two modules, our model can simultaneously improve macro-structural consistency and micro-detail continuity.

UniVidX: A Unified Multimodal Framework for Versatile Video Generation via Diffusion Priors

Recent progress has shown that video diffusion models (VDMs) can be repurposed for diverse multimodal graphics tasks. However, existing methods often train separate models for each problem setting, which fixes the input-output mapping and limits the modeling of correlations across modalities. We present UniVidX, a unified multimodal framework that leverages VDM priors for versatile video generation. UniVidX formulates pixel-aligned tasks as conditional generation in a shared multimodal space, adapts to modality-specific distributions while preserving the backbone's native priors, and promotes cross-modal consistency during synthesis. It is built on three key designs. Stochastic Condition Masking (SCM) randomly partitions modalities into clean conditions and noisy targets during training, enabling omni-directional conditional generation instead of fixed mappings. Decoupled Gated LoRA (DGL) introduces per-modality LoRAs that are activated when a modality serves as the generation target, preserving the strong priors of the VDM. Cross-Modal Self-Attention (CMSA) shares keys and values across modalities while keeping modality-specific queries, facilitating information exchange and inter-modal alignment. We instantiate UniVidX in two domains: UniVid-Intrinsic, for RGB videos and intrinsic maps including albedo, irradiance, and normal; and UniVid-Alpha, for blended RGB videos and their constituent RGBA layers. Experiments show that both models achieve performance competitive with state-of-the-art methods across distinct tasks and generalize robustly to in-the-wild scenarios, even when trained on fewer than 1,000 videos. AD-Relight: Training-Free Banner Relighting via Illumination Translation with Diffusion Priors

The recent surge in content consumption through streaming services has driven a growing demand for personalized content. Personalized advertisements (ads) play a crucial role in enhancing both user engagement and ad effectiveness. A key aspect of ad personalization involves replacing existing regions in a frame with custom, Photoshop-generated banners. However, existing ad-placement pipelines typically rely on simple geometric warping, ignoring the scene's underlying lighting conditions. Similarly, state-of-the-art diffusion-based object insertion and relighting models struggle to accurately relight these newly inserted banners, as they are not trained on ad-banner data, and training such a model for ad banners would require millions of images. This highlights the need for an effective relighting framework that enables seamless integration of custom banners into the original scene. Motivated by this, we present AD-Relight, a novel multi-stage training-free framework that adapts a diffusion-based relighting model at test time to relight newly added Photoshop-generated ad banners. Through extensive evaluation, we demonstrate that AD-Relight outperforms both relighting baselines and existing ad-placement methods based on simple warping. User studies further show that participants consistently prefer the outputs of AD-Relight over those of prior approaches.

DiffNR: Diffusion-Enhanced Neural Representation Optimization for Sparse-View 3D Tomographic Reconstruction

Neural representations (NRs), such as neural fields and 3D Gaussians, effectively model volumetric data in computed tomography (CT) but suffer from severe artifacts under sparse-view settings. To address this, we propose DiffNR, a novel framework that enhances NR optimization with diffusion priors. At its core is SliceFixer, a single-step diffusion model designed to correct artifacts in degraded slices. We integrate specialized conditioning layers into the network and develop tailored data curation strategies to support model finetuning. During reconstruction, SliceFixer periodically generates pseudo-reference volumes, providing auxiliary 3D perceptual supervision to fix underconstrained regions. Compared to prior methods that embed CT solvers into time-consuming iterative denoising, our repair-and-augment strategy avoids frequent diffusion model queries, leading to better runtime performance. Extensive experiments show that DiffNR improves PSNR by 3.99 dB on average, generalizes well across domains, and maintains efficient optimization.

Optimizing Diffusion Priors in Image Reconstruction from a Single Observation

While diffusion priors generate high-quality posterior samples across many inverse problems, they are often trained on limited training sets or purely simulated data, thus inheriting the errors and biases of these underlying sources. Current approaches to finetuning diffusion models rely on a large number of observations with varying forward operators, which can be difficult to collect for many applications, and thus lead to overfitting when the measurement set is small. We propose a method for tuning a prior from only a single observation by combining existing diffusion priors into a single product-of-experts prior and identifying the exponents that maximize the Bayesian evidence. We validate our method on real-world inverse problems, including black hole imaging, where the true prior is unknown a priori, and image deblurring with text-conditioned priors. We find that the evidence is often maximized by priors that extend beyond those trained on a single dataset. By generalizing the prior through exponent weighting, our approach enables posterior sampling from both tempered and combined diffusion models, yielding more flexible priors that improve the trustworthiness of the resulting posterior image distribution.

DVFace: Spatio-Temporal Dual-Prior Diffusion for Video Face Restoration

Video face restoration aims to enhance degraded face videos into high-quality results with realistic facial details, stable identity, and temporal coherence. Recent diffusion-based methods have brought strong generative priors to restoration and enabled more realistic detail synthesis. However, existing approaches for face videos still rely heavily on generic diffusion priors and multi-step sampling, which limit both facial adaptation and inference efficiency. These limitations motivate the use of one-step diffusion for video face restoration, yet achieving faithful facial recovery alongside temporally stable outputs remains challenging. In this paper, we propose, DVFace, a one-step diffusion framework for real-world video face restoration. Specifically, we introduce a spatio-temporal dual-codebook design to extract complementary spatial and temporal facial priors from degraded videos. We further propose an asymmetric spatio-temporal fusion module to inject these priors into the diffusion backbone according to their distinct roles. Evaluation on various benchmarks shows that DVFace delivers superior restoration quality, temporal consistency, and identity preservation compared to recent methods. Modelling Gas-Phase Reaction Kinetics with Guided Particle Diffusion Sampling

Physics-guided sampling with diffusion priors has recently shown strong performance in solving complex systems of partial differential equations (PDEs) from sparse observations. However, these methods are typically evaluated on benchmark problems that do not fully demonstrate their ability to generate temporally consistent solutions of time-dependent PDEs, often focusing instead on reconstructing a single snapshot. In this work, we apply these methods to gas-phase reaction kinetics problems governed by the advection-reaction-diffusion (ARD) equation, providing a setting that more closely reflects realistic laboratory experiments. We demonstrate that guided sampling can be used to reconstruct full spatiotemporal trajectories, rather than isolated states. Furthermore, we show that these methods generalise to previously unseen parameter regimes, highlighting their potential for real-world applications.

Estimation of instrument and noise parameters for inverse problem based on prior diffusion model

This article addresses the issue of estimating observation parameters (response and error parameters) in inverse problems. The focus is on cases where regularization is introduced in a Bayesian framework and the prior is modeled by a diffusion process. In this context, the issue of posterior sampling is known to be thorny, and a recent paper proposes a notably simple and effective solution. Additionally, it opens an remarkable flexibility when it comes to estimating observation parameters. The proposed strategy enables to define an optimal estimator for both observation parameters and image of interest. Furthermore, the strategy provides a means for uncertainty quantification. In addition, MCMC algorithms allow for the computation of estimates and properties of posteriors, while offering some guarantees. The paper presents several numerical experiments that clearly confirm the computational efficiency and the quality of both estimates and uncertainty quantification.

GMODiff: One-Step Gain Map Refinement with Diffusion Priors for HDR Reconstruction

Pre-trained Latent Diffusion Models (LDMs) have recently shown strong perceptual priors for low-level vision tasks, making them a promising direction for multi-exposure High Dynamic Range (HDR) reconstruction. However, directly applying LDMs to HDR remains challenging due to: (1) limited dynamic-range representation caused by 8-bit latent compression, (2) high inference cost from multi-step denoising, and (3) content hallucination inherent to their generative nature. To address these challenges, we introduce GMODiff, a gain map-driven one-step diffusion framework for multi-exposure HDR reconstruction. Instead of reconstructing full HDR content, we reformulate HDR reconstruction as a degradation-aware Gain Map (GM) refinement problem, where the GM encodes the extended dynamic range while retaining the same bit depth as LDR images. We initialize the denoising process from an informative regression-based estimate rather than pure noise, allowing the model to generate high-quality GMs in a single denoising step. Furthermore, recognizing that regression-based models excel in content fidelity while LDMs favor perceptual quality, we leverage regression priors to guide both the denoising process and latent decoding of the LDM, suppressing hallucinations while preserving structural accuracy. Extensive experiments demonstrate that GMODiff performs favorably against several state-of-the-art methods and is 100x faster than previous LDM-based methods. DAPS++: Rethinking Diffusion Inverse Problems with Decoupled Posterior Annealing

From a Bayesian perspective, score-based diffusion solves inverse problems through joint inference, embedding the likelihood with the prior to guide the sampling process. However, this formulation fails to explain its practical behavior: the prior offers limited guidance, while reconstruction is largely driven by the measurement-consistency term, leading to an inference process that is effectively decoupled from the diffusion dynamics. We show that the diffusion prior in these solvers functions primarily as a warm initializer that places estimates near the data manifold, while reconstruction is driven almost entirely by measurement consistency. Based on this observation, we introduce \textbf{DAPS++}, which fully decouples diffusion-based initialization from likelihood-driven refinement, allowing the likelihood term to guide inference more directly while maintaining numerical stability and providing insight into why unified diffusion trajectories remain effective in practice. By requiring fewer function evaluations (NFEs) and measurement-optimization steps, \textbf{DAPS++} achieves high computational efficiency and robust reconstruction performance across diverse image restoration tasks.

Affordance-Guided Diffusion Prior for 3D Hand Reconstruction

How can we reconstruct 3D hand poses when large portions of the hand are heavily occluded by itself or by objects? Humans often resolve such ambiguities by leveraging contextual knowledge -- such as affordances, where an object's shape and function suggest how the object is typically grasped. Inspired by this observation, we propose a generative prior for hand pose refinement guided by affordance-aware textual descriptions of hand-object interactions (HOI). Our method employs a diffusion-based generative model that learns the distribution of plausible hand poses conditioned on affordance descriptions, which are inferred from a large vision-language model (VLM). This enables the refinement of occluded regions into more accurate and functionally coherent hand poses. Extensive experiments on HOGraspNet, a 3D hand-affordance dataset with severe occlusions, demonstrate that our affordance-guided refinement significantly improves hand pose estimation over both recent regression methods and diffusion-based refinement lacking contextual reasoning.

StableMotion: One-Step Motion Estimation with Diffusion Prior

We present StableMotion, a novel framework that leverages geometric and content priors from pretrained large-scale image diffusion models for motion estimation in single-image rectification tasks such as Stitched Image Rectangling (SIR) and Rolling Shutter Correction (RSC). Specifically, StableMotion takes a text-to-image Stable Diffusion (SD) model as its backbone and repurposes it as an image-to-motion estimator. To mitigate inconsistent outputs produced by diffusion models, we propose Adaptive Ensemble Strategy (AES), which consolidates multiple outputs into a cohesive, high-fidelity result. Additionally, we present Sampling Steps Disaster (SSD), a counterintuitive phenomenon in which increasing the number of sampling steps can lead to poorer outcomes, motivating our one-step inference design. StableMotion is evaluated on two image rectification tasks and delivers state-of-the-art performance on both, while also showing promising transferability through qualitative examples and no-reference evaluations on unseen SIR-OOD and real-captured RSC benchmarks. Supported by SSD, StableMotion achieves efficient one-step inference, offering over 100×\times speedup compared to previous diffusion model-based methods even when combined with the optional AES post-processing.
