PANORAMA: Panoptic Grounded Captioning via Mask Proposal Selection

Intelligent systems that act in the world require image understanding that is both comprehensive and spatially grounded. Current vision-language models (VLMs) can generate fluent and detailed image captions, but reliably associating them with image pixels remains challenging. Existing methods that combine dense captioning with pixel-level grounding often produce either incomplete descriptions or inaccurate segmentation masks. We study this problem through panoptic grounded captioning, a task that requires a VLM to describe both foreground objects and background regions while grounding each referring phrase with pixel-level masks. We make three contributions. First, we introduce PanoCaps, a human-annotated benchmark constructed from panoptic segmentation datasets. It provides dense captions with near-complete pixel coverage and image-text alignments at the entity level, supporting both training and evaluation. We further propose a phrase-mask matching protocol and a generalized Panoptic Quality (gPQ) metric that jointly evaluates textual and mask agreement. Second, we formulate phrase grounding as selection from a phrase-conditioned pool of mask proposals and introduce PANORAMA, a VLM that conditions a pretrained segmenter on contextualized phrase representations to obtain candidate masks and learns to select those corresponding to each phrase. Training this interface jointly with caption generation enables PANORAMA to produce high-quality masks while allowing each phrase to refer to a single region or multiple instances. Third, PANORAMA achieves the best overall grounding on PanoCaps and matches or exceeds specialized models across several pixel-level grounding tasks. Experiments show that our method produces precise entity-level segmentations while maintaining detailed, mask-consistent captions. StreetDiff: Multi-view Street Scenes Generation via Cross-view Consistent Multi-view Stable Diffusion with Structure Prompts

Multi-view diffusion models have shown strong performance in scenes with strong geometric priors and sparse semantics, such as indoor rooms or simple outdoor environments (e.g., fields, courtyards). However, they often fail to maintain cross-view consistency under camera rotation, especially in structurally complex urban environments. Without explicit modeling of spherical correspondence across views, existing approaches tend to produce object duplication, structural distortion, and layout inconsistency. To address this limitation, we propose StreetDiff, a multi-view diffusion framework that explicitly enforces cross-view alignment during denoising. StreetDiff introduces a Panorama--Perspective Synergy design to decouple global layout reasoning from local detail synthesis, and incorporates a Panorama Alignment Module (PAM) that establishes spherical-projection-based attention constraints across views. By injecting structured alignment constraints without modifying the diffusion backbone, our framework achieves robust cross-view coherence in challenging urban street scene generation tasks. In addition, we construct Street360, a large-scale HDR multi-view urban panorama dataset. Extensive experiments demonstrate that StreetDiff significantly improves structural consistency and visual fidelity compared to prior multi-view diffusion generation methods.

SphereSOD: Geometry-Structure Coupled Learning for 360 Salient Object Detection

360° salient object detection (SOD) aims to accurately segment salient regions across a full field of view. However, equirectangular projection (ERP) introduces severe spatial distortion when mapping the spherical domain onto a planar representation. Existing methods mainly focus on compensating projection distortion while overlooking the interaction between panoramic geometry and salient object structure during feature perception and prediction refinement. To this end, we propose SphereSOD, an ERP-native framework that couples panoramic geometry with evolving salient structures. Specifically, spherical geometry governs feature sampling and spatial weighting, while coarse-grained saliency and contour prediction influence context aggregation during the progressive decoding process. SphereSOD first initializes deformable sampling based on spherical projection geometry and then employs bounded, content-adaptive offsets, yielding features that are better aligned with the underlying panoramic geometry. Subsequently, the decoder performs structure-guided context aggregation and progressive refinement to recover complete salient regions and accurate boundaries. Extensive experiments on three public 360° SOD benchmarks demonstrate state-of-the-art performance and a favorable accuracy-efficiency trade-off, supporting structurepreserving inference directly in ERP space as a promising alternative to projection-heavy panoramic pipelines.

Linear Fusion MultiDiffusion for Fast Training-Free Spherical Panorama Generation

We propose LF-MultiDiffusion, a training-free panorama generation method that extends MultiDiffusion to support linear projections between target and reference image spaces. Our key idea is to reformulate latent aggregation as a regularized least-squares problem and solve it efficiently with a Krylov-based iterative solver inside the denoising loop. This formulation enables denser and more natural mappings than prior training-free methods, yielding more stable generation with far fewer perspective views. As a result, LF-MultiDiffusion reduces the number of image generator evaluations during denoising and significantly improves inference efficiency. Experiments show that LF-MultiDiffusion achieves better visual quality, text alignment, and panoramic consistency than the strongest training-free baseline, while providing a 15.36×\times speedup. SeqLoc: Beyond the Single Frame for Cross-View Geo-Localization in Feature-Sparse Scenes

Cross-View Geo-Localization (CVGL) with OpenStreetMap (OSM) performs well in structure-rich urban environments but collapses in feature-sparse scenes such as rural roads. To study this failure mode, in this work, we introduce CV-FSS, a benchmark that pairs sequential panoramas from five rural regions with aligned OSM maps, on which single-frame methods degrade drastically. We then propose SeqLoc, an online test-time sequence aggregation mechanism that recursively maintains a log-belief volume with three key components: (1) Entropy-Tempered Uncertainty (ETU) tempers each incoming pose likelihood volume by its normalized entropy; (2) Map-Guided Relocalization (MGR) mixes a map-shaped recovery distribution into the belief so that a suppressed true pose can recover; (3) Peak-Anchored Smoothing (PAS) derives the final pose at sub-grid precision. Extensive experiments on CV-FSS and CV-RHO demonstrate that SeqLoc outperforms single-frame localization by a large margin, improving both position and orientation recall by over 50%. The benchmark and source code are publicly available at https://zhengjunwei.com/publications/SeqLoc/SeqLoc.html.

EmoWorld: A Decoupled Affective Field for Controllable Emotional Video Generation

Emotion shapes how viewers interpret a scene, yet existing video generators entangle global atmosphere, affect-bearing semantic cues, and temporal progression within a single text condition. We present EmoWorld, a framework that decouples these factors within a frozen flow-matching video diffusion transformer (Video DiT). A one-time preparation stage extracts layer-specific affect directions and a reusable cue library from geometry-preserving neutral and emotion-edited panoramas. At inference, Visual Atmosphere Steering (VAS) injects atmosphere directions into hidden states, Semantic Affective Steering (SAS) isolates a separately scalable prompt residual for semantic cues, and Temporal Affective Steering (TAS) interpolates endpoint residual fields across denoising and video time. On Wan2.2, VAS improves target-emotion alignment by 19% while reducing a temporal-fluctuation proxy by 48%; SAS improves target-emotion alignment by 37% and increases detected affect-bearing cues by 36%; and TAS improves transition monotonicity by 15% over the strongest baseline. EmoWorld is evaluated across 27 emotion categories in text-to-video and image-to-video settings, demonstrates portability across multiple Video-DiT backbones, and supports camera-conditioned composition without updating generator parameters.

A Multi-Layer System for Ultra-High-Resolution Static 360-Degree Telepresence

360-degree video telepresence offers strong immersive potential but remains constrained by the limited resolution of current capture and display hardware. Many telepresence installations feature fixed viewpoints and largely static scenes, yet optimization strategies tailored to such setups have received limited attention. We present a multi-layer, ultra-high-resolution system for static 360-degree telepresence that combines an 8K panoramic camera with a rotatable 4K pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera. Our approach builds a three-layer representation: (1) a tile-based ultra-high-resolution panoramic background, generated by offline stitching high-detail 4K PTZ scans onto the base 8K panorama to achieve effective resolution beyond native capture, and represented as a set of spatial tiles; (2) a dynamic update layer that composites foreground motions from the 8K stream via real-time high-resolution background matting; and (3) a region-of-interest 4K layer that streams a real-time PTZ view of the selected region and additionally updates the corresponding background tiles over time. We evaluate the proposed system through comparisons with representative video super-resolution approaches and a user study assessing perceived detail and immersive experience. Our results indicate that tile-based background refinement, together with user-guided updates, provides a practical way to balance panoramic fidelity and interactivity in static 360-degree telepresence.

DerainSplat: Feed-Forward Clean 3D Gaussian Splatting from Sparse Rainy Views

Although image deraining has advanced substantially, existing methods mainly focus on 2D image restoration. As spatial intelligence applications such as embodied AI and autonomous driving continue to emerge, reconstructing clean 3D scenes from sparse rainy views in a feed-forward manner becomes increasingly important. Existing feed-forward 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) methods often assume clean inputs and collapse under rainy conditions. To this end, we present \textbf{\textit{DerainSplat}}, a feed-forward framework that reconstructs clean 3D scenes from only a few rainy views. To support this task, we build a large-scale multi-view derain dataset through a four-stage synthesis pipeline that sequentially models overcast illumination, depth-dependent haze, rain streaks, and lens raindrops, producing privileged weather factors. We introduce a weather net that predicts the weather factors from rainy context and yields two support maps. Scene support modulates cross-view cost-volume matching, while radiance support drives depth-aligned appearance fusion to fill corrupted pixels. The derived geometry evidence further attenuates Gaussian opacity to reduce spurious structures. A rainy cycle consistency re-renders clean views using the predicted factors and aligns them with rainy inputs. Extensive experiments show that \textbf{\textit{DerainSplat}} outperforms existing methods on various datasets, including RealEstate10K, ACID, Mip-NeRF360, and real-world rainy scenes, with strong cross-dataset generalization.

Look Up and Look Back: Hidden Attention and Latent Orientation in a Frozen Foundation Model for Panoramic SLAM

Monocular panoramic SLAM benefits from substantial visual overlap under large camera rotations, yet remains prone to errors caused by camera tilt, scale drift, and false loop closures. We show that a frozen panoramic geometry foundation model provides useful internal cues beyond its explicit geometric outputs: intermediate tokens encode gravity in the camera frame, while cross-view attention provides a compatibility cue for potential revisits. Building on these cues, we present HALO-SLAM. A gravity readout enables IMU-free spherical upright canonicalization. For loop closure, we introduce a cost-aware three-stage cascade combining DBoW2 event-level retrieval, attention-based compatibility filtering, and dense geometric validation through symmetric submap augmentation. Accepted revisits yield pixel-aligned 3D--3D correspondences in both local gauges, from which robust Sim(3)\mathrm{Sim}(3) constraints are estimated and jointly optimized with sequential constraints in a global pose graph. Across 125 sequences from five real-world panoramic benchmarks, our method achieves \textbf{100%} sequence success (\textbf{125/125}) under the stated criterion and the lowest ATE among the evaluated methods on all five benchmarks, reducing ATE by \textbf{30--88%} relative to the best ERP-native baseline on each benchmark.

E2Pano: Learning Event-to-Panorama Image Reconstruction

Event cameras offer microsecond-level temporal resolution and high dynamic range, potentially facilitating motion-blur-free panoramic imaging from fast rotational scanning. Nonetheless, existing optimization-based methods remain computationally demanding, while prior learning-based reconstruction methods are largely designed for perspective imagery and lack geometry-aware support for panoramic outputs. We present E2Pano, a geometry-guided event-to-panorama pipeline with an end-to-end learnable photometric reconstruction stage. Our framework preserves real spherical coordinates from geometric mapping throughout the pipeline, employs a lightweight enhancement module with frequency-domain supervision to bridge the event-image domain gap, and leverages a spherical Transformer with 3D positional embeddings for photometric reconstruction. Experiments on synthetic data and captured rotational scans show improved reconstruction quality and lower photometric reconstruction cost than optimization-based baselines, together with encouraging transfer to real captures under our acquisition protocol despite training purely on synthetic data. Additionally, we construct PanoScan, a dataset with 4,370 synthetic and 30 real-world panoramic scenes paired with event streams. Our dataset and code will be released.

4DHumanDiff: Direct Text-to-4DGS Generation for Consistent 360-Degree Dynamic Humans

Generating high-quality 360-degree dynamic human assets from text prompts is challenging. Existing methods usually synthesize monocular or multi-view videos first and then fit a 4D representation, which is expensive and often causes incomplete geometry or view-inconsistent renderings. We present 4DHumanDiff, a diffusion framework that directly generates dynamic humans represented by 4D Gaussian Splatting (4DGS) from text prompts. By modeling the structured 4D representation space end-to-end, 4DHumanDiff avoids video pre-generation and per-scene reconstruction, making it better suited for view-consistent and temporally coherent asset generation. The model uses a 3D U-Net backbone with temporal attention for motion-aware generation. We further construct a large-scale text-to-4DGS dataset with 60,000 high-quality pairs, and introduce 2D regularization and training-free 4D interpolation to improve rendering quality and motion smoothness. Experiments show that 4DHumanDiff generates consistent 360-degree dynamic humans within one minute, achieves better temporal and multi-view consistency, and reduces inference time by more than 10x.

Genie Sim PanoWorld: An Infinite Indoor 3D World Generation Pipeline via Panoramic Scene Modeling and Simulation

We address the problem of reconstructing a high-fidelity, freely navigable 3D scene from a single 360∘360^\circ panorama, without per-scene optimization or multi-view capture. Existing methods either lack metric trajectory control, which hinders reliable downstream 3D reconstruction, or struggle with large disocclusions under long-range camera motion while requiring high-end multi-GPU servers. We present Genie Sim PanoWorld, a two-stage feed-forward pipeline that bridges generation and reconstruction via an explicit, trajectory-controllable panoramic video. A NavMesh-planned SE(3)\mathrm{SE}(3) roaming trajectory is injected into a latent video diffusion model through dense geometry-warped conditioning; long--short trajectory mixed training and a self-consistency objective based on shortcut models together yield high-fidelity video in four CFG-free denoising steps. A feed-forward panoramic reconstructor then lifts the generated video into a high-fidelity 3D Gaussian scene that supports real-time, free-viewpoint roaming and can be directly used as a simulation-ready asset for embodied AI applications. Experiments show that Genie Sim PanoWorld outperforms geometry-conditioned baselines in both panoramic video generation and downstream 3D reconstruction, while generalizing zero-shot to unseen indoor scenes.

PanoLess: Environment Reconstruction from Partial Reflective Views

Reflections from shiny objects and glass facades naturally extend the field of view of a camera, capturing the surrounding environment without the need to pan the camera or acquire a full panorama. We propose PanoLess, a Gaussian-splat-based framework that reconstructs the surrounding environment as a distant illumination map from images captured on only one side of a reflective surface. PanoLess leverages surface-aligned 2D Gaussian splats with deferred shading to recover accurate per-pixel normals and reflection cues, which are fused into a neural cubemap representation of the environment. In addition, PanoLess produces a visibility map that explicitly denotes which regions of the environment are supported by the partial reflective observations. Unlike existing inverse-rendering and reflection-aware Gaussian-splatting approaches, which typically require full 360-degree coverage and struggle under incomplete views, PanoLess enables consistent, physically grounded illumination estimation from partial-view input. We show that PanoLess achieves high-fidelity and geometrically consistent environment reconstruction, outperforming reflection-aware baselines on a new custom synthetic benchmark and publicly available datasets, and demonstrating generalization to real-world reflective captures.

Low-Altitude Channel Multipath Prediction via Panoramic Perception and Vision-Language Model

Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) communication is expected to support a wide range of low-altitude applications in 6G mobile networks. However, traditional statistical channel models provide limited accuracy in specific environments, while deterministic methods such as ray tracing usually rely on accurate three-dimensional environment models and involve high computational complexity. Existing multimodal channel prediction approaches mainly focus on large-scale metrics such as path loss, and remain insufficient for modeling small-scale parameters. To address these limitations, this paper proposes PanoLAMP, a Panoramic perception and vision-language model-based Low-Altitude Multipath Prediction framework. It adopts a pretrained vision-language model as the backbone and captures the propagation environment features through panoramic RGB-D observations collected at both the transmitter and receiver to predict the delay, power, azimuth angle, and zenith angle offset relative to the line-of-sight path. Experiments are conducted on a synthetic dataset containing 18,949 UAV-vehicle links across seven UAV altitudes. Experimental results show that the proposed method consistently outperforms representative baselines in both multipath parameters and statistical metrics, and demonstrates stronger generalization across different flight heights.

What Happens to Accuracy When Photo Lineups Contain Non-Mated Rank-One Images From Large Galleries?

One-to-many facial identification is commonly used to match a probe image from surveillance video against a gallery of driver's license and/or booking photos. The algorithm's rank-one image from the gallery, or a human examiner's selection from the algorithm's top-ranked images, may then be placed in a photo lineup shown to a witness. Witness selection of the gallery image in the photo lineup may then lead directly to the person in the gallery image being arrested. This facial identification process is involved in a number of wrongful arrests. This work specifically examines whether the probability of a witness making an incorrect identification increases with the size of the gallery searched. We compare photo lineup accuracy when the "suspect" image is drawn from galleries of 500, 5,000, and 24,000 images. We find that larger galleries increase both the likelihood of a witness making an incorrect identification and their confidence in that (incorrect) identification. These results raise questions of whether an image resulting from such a facial identification process should be used in photo lineups and of whether results of a photo lineup alone should constitute probable cause for arrest.

OffNadirLoc: Benchmark and Framework for Challenging UAV-to-Satellite Geo-Localization under Large Off-Nadir Views

Cross-view geo-localization between UAV and satellite imagery remains a fundamental yet highly challenging task, especially under large off-nadir views where drastic perspective distortions, occlusions, and appearance gaps occur. Existing benchmarks and methods primarily focus on near-nadir scenarios and often overlook the importance of structural scene understanding and intra-domain relational constraints, limiting their performance in real-world deployments. In this work, we introduce OffNadirLoc, a new benchmark for large off-nadir UAV-to-satellite geo-localization. To tackle the unique challenges posed by off-nadir perspectives, we further propose ONLoc, a framework that incorporates a structure-aware contextual weighting mechanism to dynamically emphasize reliable local features while suppressing ambiguous or repetitive regions. Additionally, we design a view-coherent learning strategy, which treats one satellite image and the corresponding UAV images from multiple views as a cohesive semantic group. This set-level supervision enables the model to learn viewpoint-invariant and discriminative features, making it more effective at capturing multi-view consistency than conventional pairwise contrastive learning. Extensive experiments on the OffNadirLoc benchmark and four near-nadir datasets demonstrate that our method consistently outperforms state-of-the-art approaches while exhibiting strong zero-shot generalization to unseen datasets without additional training. The code will be released at https://montalario.github.io/offnadirloc/.

Extending a Large View Synthesis Model for Multi-view Panoptic Segmentation

Large view synthesis models synthesize novel views through cross-view attention without explicit 3D representations, and recent studies have shown that they learn accurate spatial correspondence from RGB supervision alone. We observe that this correspondence generalizes beyond appearance. When non-photorealistic signals such as binary encoded panoptic labels are passed through the model, they are propagated to novel views with consistent spatial structure. These results indicate that the correspondence learned for RGB view synthesis can also propagate view-independent per-pixel labels. From this observation, we present the first work to extend large view synthesis models beyond appearance rendering to 3D scene understanding. We propose a panoptic segmentation pipeline that reuses a frozen view synthesis model to propagate panoptic labels from input views to novel views, without 3D reconstruction or any segmentation-specific training of the view synthesis model. Given panoptic labels on the input views, we encode them into binary channel representations and pass them through the same model to render target-view segmentation. On ScanNet, our method achieves segmentation quality on par with Gaussian based approaches requiring explicit 3D reconstruction, while outperforming them in novel view synthesis by more than 7 dB. The label propagation also transfers across datasets, surpassing these approaches on Replica without any fine-tuning.

Stitch-Inferencer: Enhance Endoscopic Video Segmentation and Tracking via Panoramic Reconstruction

Surgical video understanding is fundamental to navigation systems. Endoscopic perception is often hindered by a limited field-of-view and frequent instrument occlusions, making spatio-temporal context essential for robust inference. These challenges have motivated video models that aggregate information across frames. However, existing video models typically store past observations implicitly in learned feature representations, often requiring task-specific video training, substantial annotated data, and increased computational cost. We propose Stitch-Inferencer, a real-time, model-agnostic inference framework that replaces implicit feature memory with an explicit image-space panoramic canvas. By stitching valid observations across frames, Stitch-Inferencer preserves previously observed pixels in an online, instrument-free view, expanding the effective field-of-view and providing direct access to regions that are temporarily occluded or absent from the current frame. Downstream segmentation or tracking models are applied to a compact region of interest on the panorama, and their predictions are reprojected to the current frame, enabling existing models to exploit long-range context without retraining. Experiments on anatomy segmentation and point/box tracking demonstrate consistent improvements across diverse baselines while preserving real-time throughput. The stitching module alone runs at over 60 FPS, providing a practical inference-time solution to enhance endoscopic perception in computationally constrained intraoperative environments. Source code will be made publicly available.

SVI360: Spherical Video Interpolation

This paper addresses the problem of omnidirectional video interpolation, which plays an essential role in applications such as virtual reality and immersive video enhancement. Existing video interpolation methods are not well-suited for spherical videos, as they have difficulty handling severe distortions close to the poles. To address this issue, we propose SVI360, a dual-branch framework that combines the image frame and its rotated orthogonal view to deal with these distortions. The core methodological aspect of the approach is to reinforce equivariance of the flow displacements between the original and orthogonal views to improve intermediate frame prediction. Experiments show that our method outperforms state-of-the-art approaches in interpolation quality while maintaining accurate optical flow in four different public benchmarks. PanoWorld: Real-World Panoramic Generation

In this work, we aim to address the challenge of long-range memory in panoramic world models by exploiting the rotation-equivariant property of omnidirectional representations, where rotation can be treated as an implicit geometric transformation.Building on this insight, we propose PanoWorld, which simplifies camera trajectories into translations via fixed headings for both current-action modeling and long-range memory through Dense Panoramic Ray-Conditioning (DPRC) and Geometry-aware Memory Augmentation (GMA).Then, a three-stage training pipeline is introduced to progressively optimize each component. To better evaluate physical consistency under large-scale spatial variations and diverse illumination conditions, where existing datasets are relatively stable, we construct World360, a large-scale dataset consisting of both real-world video clips collected via panoramic unmanned aerial vehicles and high-quality simulated clips generated by AirSim360.Extensive experiments on World360 demonstrate the effectiveness of PanoWorld, outperforming alternative methods by a large margin. Our models, training code, and dataset will be publicly available. Enhancing In-context Panoramic Generation via Geometric-aware Pretraining

In this work, we present Canvas360, a two-stage framework for in-context panoramic generation that combines geometry-aware pretraining with downstream task-specific fine-tuning. To address the lack of large-scale, high-quality training data tailored to in-context panoramic tasks, we propose Canvas360Dataset, a collection of 1M high-quality paired panoramic samples for style transfer, inpainting, outpainting, and editing, enabling effective supervision across diverse in-context generation scenarios. On the modeling side, Canvas360 enhances text-to-panorama generation through parallel depth generation, velocity circular padding, and similarity loss regularization, enabling the model to learn geometry-aware representations, capture object distortion details, and improve geometric consistency and global coherence. Furthermore, empowered by strong panoramic priors, Canvas360 enables a unified in-context panoramic generation framework that supports diverse downstream tasks via token-level concatenation, surpassing prior methods in both task coverage and modeling flexibility. Extensive experiments show that Canvas360 improves panoramic image fidelity, achieving particularly strong performance on the panorama-specific FAED metric and competitive or leading results across the reported quantitative evaluations. Global Pose Control for Generative View Synthesis in Normalized Object Coordinate Space

Novel View Synthesis (NVS) enables the generation of unseen views of a scene from a single or multiple images, allowing users to freely explore an object from any viewpoint. Despite the recent impressive qualitative improvements of generative models for this task, existing methods struggle to provide global and intuitive control of target viewpoints because they either use input-relative camera poses or are limited to generating sparse global views. This lack of global pose control severely limits the number of downstream tasks potentially enabled by NVS. To address this limitation, we propose a novel approach for precise camera control in a customizable Normalized Object Coordinate Space (NOCS), requiring single or few unposed images. Our method operates solely on the absolute camera pose of the target view in NOCS, eliminating the need for a relative world frame or camera poses of the input images. Unlike previous methods that treat NVS as a standalone generation task, we formulate it as an image editing problem and build upon state-of-the-art editing models to leverage their superior generalization capability. Camera information is injected as dedicated camera tokens via an in-context multi-modal conditioning strategy. To alleviate the inherent ambiguity of NOCS, we incorporate text descriptions that explicitly define the object's canonical coordinate frame, which also enhances generalization to unseen object categories. Furthermore, we curate a high-quality dataset with consistently aligned orientations and corresponding NOCS text definitions. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method robustly generates novel views with accurate and consistent orientations from arbitrary unposed images across diverse categories, achieving state-of-the-art image quality and fidelity.

Unified Panoramic-Gaussian Representation for Monocular 4D Scene Synthesis

4D scene synthesis from monocular videos has made significant progress in recent years. However, existing methods are typically constrained by view interpolation. As a result, they struggle to infer unseen regions beyond the observed views. In this paper, we reformulate the task as 4D scene synthesis with unseen regions, which extends beyond traditional interpolation settings. Camera-conditioned video generation enables unseen region synthesis by guiding generation along specified cameras. However, these methods lack explicit 3D priors and are optimized with random camera trajectories. This design leads to severe inconsistencies under large trajectory deviations. To address this limitation, we build a unified training and inference framework with panoramic trajectory guidance. While this design improves cross-view consistency, the panoramic representation alone fails to model dynamic content effectively. Object motion in panoramic space introduces scale and shape distortions. To address this, we propose PanoGaussian, a unified Panoramic-Gaussian representation that distills the panoramic representation into an explicit dynamic Gaussian representation to capture dynamic physical priors of the 4D scene. Experiments demonstrate that PanoGaussian achieves consistent 4D scene synthesis even under large viewpoint variations.

Pano2World: End-to-End 3D Generation via Unified Multi-View Sequences

A single panorama captures the full visual sphere from one camera center, yet confines users to looking around in place without enabling true scene exploration. Converting a single panorama into a persistent, renderable 3D representation for free-viewpoint navigation has attracted growing interest; existing methods either adopt iterative per-view completion that propagates inpainting results to update the underlying geometry, leading to progressive error accumulation and cumbersome multi-step pipelines, or leverage the temporal consistency priors of video generation models, yet the continuous-trajectory constraint intrinsic to such models limits their flexibility in covering scenes from multiple directions simultaneously. We present Pano2World, which takes a single indoor panorama as input and directly outputs a persistent, explorable 3D Gaussian scene. Given the source panorama, Pano2World first reconstructs a coarse 3D Gaussian proxy and renders it at adaptively sampled nearby poses to obtain geometrically aligned guidance panoramas; a panoramic diffusion model then jointly denoises all target views via View-Aware Attention Routing, where each target view simultaneously receives geometric constraints from its corresponding guidance panorama and global semantic guidance from the source panorama, naturally enforcing cross-view consistency. To avoid the information loss incurred by decoding the multi-view hidden features formed during joint denoising back to the pixel domain via VAE, we introduce Latent Feature Adapter, a geometry-aware bridge module that directly distills these hidden features into a scene latent, subsequently decoded into the final 3D Gaussian scene. Experiments demonstrate that Pano2World significantly outperforms existing methods on the multi-position panoramic novel-view synthesis benchmark.

SpheRoPE: Zero-Shot Optimization-Free 360 Panorama Generation with Spherical RoPE

We present a zero-shot, training-free and optimization-free framework for generating 360 panoramic images and videos by directly injecting spherical priors into pre-trained diffusion transformers. Existing methods either rely on costly fine-tuning on scarce panoramic data that limits generalization, or leverage multi-step optimization that incurs prohibitive inference latency. We observe that contemporary generative models natively exhibit some panoramic priors from large-scale training. However, these emergent capabilities are insufficient, as the models fundamentally fail to satisfy the rigorous topological constraints imposed by equirectangular projection (ERP). We introduce a zero-shot and optimization-free approach that resolves these constraints at inference time. Spherical RoPE replaces standard rotary position embeddings: low-frequency channels are re-parameterized as 3D Cartesian coordinates to natively encode the spherical manifold, while high-frequency channels are harmonically quantized to enforce exact periodicity. Coupled with complementary Semantic Distortion classifier-free guidance (CFG) that explicitly steers geometry, we avoid retraining and inherit the full creative breadth of state-of-the-art models. Our approach generalizes across diverse backbones and 360 generation modalities. We demonstrate this across text-to-panorama using Flux.1, Flux.2, and LTX-Video backbones, achieving competitive performance against baselines, all while remaining training-free. CasaMaestro: Multi-View Panoramas for House-Scale 3D Reconstruction

The rise of home-deployed embodied AI systems is driving a growing need for fast, metric 3D reconstruction of residential spaces to support navigation, interaction, and long-horizon task execution. However, the commonly used pinhole-camera 3D reconstruction pipelines struggle to model large indoor residences efficiently due to their limited field of view, to which achieving full coverage across multiple rooms often requires thousands of images and incurs drift from long chains of incremental alignment. In this work, we present CasaMaestro (Spanish words meaning house'' and master''), a feedforward model that can take only twenty to fifty sparse multi-view indoor panoramas as input and directly predicts metric depth along with camera poses, allowing fast point-cloud reconstruction of the entire house with full coverage. CasaMaestro is the first model that supports house-scale reconstruction with multi-view panoramas. Experiments show that CasaMaestro can robustly provide high quality results in both real-world and synthetic scenes, which can serve as a strong foundation for acquiring house-scale 3D indoor assets to be applied in close-loop simulation.

FastPano3D: Feed-Forward Indoor Panoramic 3D Reconstruction from a Single Image

Recent advances in 3D scene reconstruction have highlighted the intricate trade-offs among rendering quality, inference efficiency, and data dependency. To address the challenge of rapidly reconstructing detailed 3D indoor scenes from minimal input, we introduce FastPano3D, an end-to-end framework that directly generates renderable 3D Gaussian representations from a single panoramic image. Unlike perspective-based methods, panoramic images inherently suffer from equirectangular projection distortions and spatially non-uniform feature distributions, making direct feed-forward Gaussian generation particularly challenging. In contrast to existing Gaussian Splatting based methods that rely on multi-view supervision or per-scene optimization, FastPano3D employs a lightweight feature encoder, adaptive Gaussian sampling, and a point-cloud-guided refinement strategy to achieve efficient and accurate scene generation without any test-time optimization. Our approach reconstructs high-fidelity 3D scenes within seconds, achieving up to 156 times faster inference than prior state-of-the-art methods such as Pano2Room, while using only half the parameters. Extensive experiments demonstrate that FastPano3D delivers rendering quality comparable to NeRF- and 3DGS-based reconstructions, establishing a new benchmark for rapid, single-view 3D scene inference.

CylindTrack: Depth-Aware Cylindrical Motion Modeling for Panoramic Multi-Object Tracking

Multi-Object Tracking (MOT) is a core capability for embodied perception, and panoramic cameras are attractive for embodied systems because their 360° field of view reduces blind spots and keeps surrounding targets observable for longer durations. However, panoramic MOT is not a straightforward extension of perspective MOT. In equirectangular panoramic videos, the horizontal image domain is periodic rather than Euclidean, which breaks planar motion assumptions and makes IoU-based association unreliable near the 0°/360° seam. Meanwhile, large-FoV scenes often contain more objects, stronger scale variation, and more frequent interactions, making online association particularly sensitive to unstable frame-wise depth cues. To address these issues, we propose CylindTrack, a depth-aware cylindrical tracking-by-detection framework for panoramic MOT. CylindTrack first introduces Depth-Temporal Trajectory Modeling (DTM), which promotes instance depth from an isolated frame-wise cue to a temporally filtered trajectory-level state. To improve the reliability of depth observations, we further develop Spherical Spatio-Temporal Consistency Learning (SSTC), which combines a Temporal Mixer and Spherical Geometry-aware Attention to enhance temporal coherence and panoramic geometric alignment in depth-aware representations. Finally, we design a Topology-Aware Cylindrical Motion Model (TCMM) that lifts horizontal motion into a continuous angular state space and performs seam-consistent motion prediction and association in the periodic panoramic domain. By jointly modeling trajectory-level depth consistency and panoramic topology, CylindTrack improves identity preservation and trajectory continuity in challenging panoramic scenes. The source code will be released at https://github.com/warriordby/CylindTrack.

Sphere-VIO: Fast and Robust Visual-Inertial Odometry via Unified Spherical Representation for Heterogeneous Multi-Camera Systems

Multi-camera visual-inertial odometry (VIO) overcomes the inherent limitations of pure visual systems by expanding the field of view. However, existing algorithms are typically tailored for fixed camera setups and lack unified compatibility with heterogeneous multi-camera systems. Meanwhile, due to the absence of a unified cross-camera representation and association mechanism, current methods struggle to achieve a balance among robust cross-camera feature tracking, stable depth estimation, and reliable real-time performance. To address these issues, we present Sphere-VIO, a lightweight filter-based VIO framework with unified spherical representation for heterogeneous multi-camera systems. Specifically, we first propose a Unified Spherical Panorama Model (USPM) that supports all standard camera models and enables bidirectional fast mapping between multi-camera images and a shared spherical space without sequential stitching, simplifying cross-camera feature management and improving triangulation efficiency. Second, we design a parallel-accelerated depth-guided semi-direct tracking pipeline, namely Hierarchical Omnidirectional Feature Alignment (HOFA), with global spherical constraints for robust cross-camera matching, and fuse multi-camera depth observations into a standard depth filter for stable initialization. Finally, we develop a multi-camera-adapted ESKF backend that employs spherical bearing residuals and Schur complement marginalization to minimize computational overhead, enabling accurate real-time state estimation on resource-constrained devices. Extensive experiments on public benchmarks and a custom omnidirectional dataset show that Sphere-VIO achieves superior trade-offs between accuracy, robustness, efficiency, and cross-camera generality.

Learning Cross-view Correspondences for Geo-localization on Planetary Surfaces

Maintaining global position awareness is a fundamental challenge for planetary surface exploration, since satellite-based positioning systems are unavailable and onboard odometry drifts over time. Although orbital mapping products, such as overhead imagery and terrain-derived maps, provide global context, aligning them with surface observations is challenging due to large viewpoint differences, low texture, repetitive terrain, and drastic changes in appearance caused by varying illumination and topography. We introduce a new cross-view geo-localization benchmark built from physically rendered surface panoramas and overhead tiles derived from a high-resolution lunar terrain model. Our dataset contains 10438 ground views rendered as 360∘^\circ surface panoramas with matching overhead images precisely centered at the same location. Additionally, a set of overlapping tiles is provided to study off-center localization with multiple plausible candidates per panorama. We study the performance of a state-of-the-art transformer-based geo-localization method on our data, by training it from scratch and reporting retrieval accuracy. Our results demonstrate that learning-based cross-view localization methods can be successfully applied to the domain of planetary surfaces, providing a vision-based alternative to global navigation satellite systems.

Panoramic Scene Understanding: A Survey from Distortion-Aware Engineering to Sphere-Native Modeling

Panoramic images capture the full visual sphere in a frame, offering context unavailable to conventional cameras. Yet this completeness has an unavoidable geometric cost: the 2-sphere cannot be faithfully mapped to the plane, and every projection introduces distortions that challenge standard vision architectures. This survey traces panoramic scene understanding from projection-based adaptation and distortion-aware engineering to sphere-native modeling, reflecting increasing commitment to spherical geometry. Foundation models form a fourth family, geometry-aware tokenization, which adapts the input interface while reusing perspective-pretrained weights. We review these approaches across five task families: dense prediction, unified multi-task understanding, open-world perception, vision-language reasoning, and dynamic video analysis. Across tasks, the same shift toward spherical geometry recurs. In practice, however, the field has converged not on the strongest sphere-native operators, which are exactly rotation-equivariant but cannot reuse perspective-pretrained backbones and thus have not scaled, but on a compatibility-preserving middle ground combining moderate geometric awareness with large pretrained models. This commitment is uneven: deepest in dense prediction and shallowest in dynamic perception, where methods are spatially sphere-aware yet temporally planar. Foundation-model adaptation has advanced panoramic depth fastest, while layout, surface-normal, and video-level understanding remain largely unexplored. No panoramic foundation model has yet been pretrained on spherical data. We identify five evaluation gaps: spherical-area-weighted metrics, seam-consistency tests, polar-robustness stratification, cross-projection generalization, and standardized open-world protocols. We conclude with a six-point roadmap toward general-purpose panoramic intelligence.

PanoImager: Geometry-Guided Novel View Synthesis and Reconstruction from Sparse Panoramic Views

Panoramic sensing offers wide field-of-view coverage, yet 3D reconstruction from sparse panoramas remains challenging under rotation-dominant, weak-parallax motion. In such regimes, SfM/SLAM initialization is often ill-conditioned and unreliable. We present PanoImager, an SfM-free framework that combines feed-forward pose/depth priors, geometry-conditioned diffusion view completion, and depth-guided 3DGS optimization. Given only a few panoramic images, PanoImager decomposes them into local perspective views, synthesizes auxiliary observations to enrich sparse evidence, and stabilizes Gaussian optimization for improved cross-view consistency. Experiments on multiple benchmarks show improved stability under extreme sparsity, suggesting PanoImager as an offline/background component for map refinement when SfM/SLAM fails to initialize.

Shear-Free Viewport Magnification for 360-Degree via Spherical Mobius Boosts

Viewport-adaptive 360-degree imaging seeks to allocate a fixed sampling budget to the region a viewer is likely to observe. Existing view-biased projections increase viewport resolution through non-conformal warps, which can introduce anisotropic stretching and shear. We formulate spherical Mobius boosts as exact conformal maps for fixed-budget viewport magnification. The continuous spherical warp has quasiconformal dilatation K = 1, reallocating samples toward a target direction while preserving local angles. On a SUN360 saliency audit with 72 panoramas and 216 paired viewport targets, C1 Mobius boosting improves viewport PSNR over optimized offset cubemap on all paired cases, with case-level median gain +3.26 dB, image-level median gain +3.23 dB, and panorama-level bootstrap 95% CI [+3.15, +3.33] dB. Pareto analysis shows that this is not a free global-quality improvement: C1 trades full-sphere WS-PSNR for shear-free viewport fidelity. Prediction-error and filtering studies identify the operating envelope: strong boosts are useful for accurately targeted viewports, while large target uncertainty calls for weaker boosts or fallback. These results position Mobius boosting as a geometric primitive for prediction-conditioned foveated 360-degree resampling rather than a universal encode-once layout.

Toward 360-Degree Indoor Panorama Editing via Tuning-Free Diffusion Model with Refocusing Cross-Attention

Zero-shot text-guided diffusion has significantly advanced image editing; however, its practical usability remains constrained by three persistent challenges: prompt brittleness that requires meticulous prompt engineering, spillover edits that unintentionally affect non-target regions, and failures on small or cluttered objects caused by limited fine-grained supervision in training data. We propose FocusDiff (Target-Aware Refocusing for Tuning-Free Diffusion Editing), a tuning-free framework for precise and region-specific image manipulation based on refocusing cross-attention. Given a target region obtained through automated segmentation or manual selection, FocusDiff applies selective blurring to non-edit areas to guide attention toward the masked region while accurately transferring the object's identity, structure, and appearance to the edited output. Integrated context-preserving modules further ensure background fidelity and global coherence, enabling accurate edits from simple text prompts in a single pass. We also extend FocusDiff to 360-degree indoor panorama editing and demonstrate its effectiveness within virtual reality environments. Extensive experiments on our localized editing benchmark LIMB, comprising 30 multi-object images and 100 annotated examples including challenging small-object cases, show that FocusDiff outperforms existing zero-shot editors in text-image alignment and background preservation, achieving superior precision, photorealism, and usability. DepthMaster: Unified Monocular Depth Estimation for Perspective and Panoramic Images

While monocular depth estimation has achieved significant progress, achieving generalized metric depth estimation for both narrow field-of-view (FoV) perspectives and 360∘360^\circ panoramas remains an unsolved challenge. Existing methods are often tailored to specific camera types and struggle to produce accurate metric depth that generalizes across diverse settings. This limitation stems from two key challenges: the inherent geometric discrepancy between perspective and panoramic cameras, and the scarcity of panoramic training data with metric annotations. In this work, we introduce DepthMaster, a unified metric depth estimation framework. Rather than employing specialized networks to learn spherical distortions, we reformulate the problem by decomposing panoramic images into overlapping perspective patches. Crucially, distinct from prior projection-based methods that rely on ad-hoc architectural modifications to handle boundaries, we introduce a novel Correspondence Consistency Loss (CCL) and inject virtual projection cameras as geometric priors, allowing us to seamlessly stitch the patches while avoiding specialized operators and keeping the backbone largely compatible with standard Transformer designs. This strategy also resolves the geometric differences by unifying all inputs into a canonical perspective representation, and effectively circumvents data scarcity by directly unlocking powerful metric priors from vast perspective datasets. Trained on a mixed dataset that contains only one panorama dataset, DepthMaster achieves state-of-the-art zero-shot performance on 13 diverse datasets, outperforming not only universal methods but also leading specialist models in both perspective and panoramic domains.

SHERPA: Seam-aware Harmonized ERP Adaptation for Open-Domain 360∘^\circ Panorama Generation

Panoramic imagery is increasingly used in world-generation, games, and simulation, where users may need not only photorealistic scenes but also stylized and non-photorealistic environments. Large-scale text-to-image diffusion and flow models provide broad style and semantic priors for this goal, but planar image training misaligns them with the wrap-around topology and polar regions of 360∘360^\circ panoramas represented in equirectangular projection (ERP). We present SHERPA, a lightweight adaptation framework that combines frequency-selective Circular RoPE, Circular Latent Encoding/Decoding, image-side FFN adapters, and a Dual-Path Training Scheme. Circular RoPE replaces only the seam-sensitive high-frequency horizontal RoPE band with integer-periodic harmonics while preserving the pretrained lower-frequency spectrum. The Paired Panorama Path supervises geometry, while the Unpaired Style Path uses self-supervised yaw consistency for target-free stylized prompts. As a result, SHERPA generates 360∘360^\circ panoramas across both photorealistic panorama domains and open-domain stylized prompts.

UniSHARP: Universal Sharp Monocular View Synthesis

In this work, we focus on extending SHARP, the popular photorealistic view synthesis method, for universal monocular rendering across a continuum of camera systems, from conventional perspective cameras to wide-field-of-view, fisheye and omnidirectional panoramic settings. To overcome the pinhole-specific assumptions of SHARP, our key idea is to align various images in a unified omnidirectional latent space. Thus, we propose UniSHARP, which performs implicit alignment in both feature and Gaussian spaces. Specifically, Gaussian primitives are arranged along rays and radial distances in a ray-based universal representation, while 2D semantic and 3D spatial features extracted from UniK3D-inspired encoders are jointly decoded to generate the complete Gaussian cloud. To comprehensively evaluate our method, we construct a benchmark covering diverse imaging systems across various scenes. The benchmark is further stratified by field of view (FoV) to enable fine-grained assessment of the universal monocular rendering task. Extensive experiments on the proposed benchmark demonstrate the effectiveness of UniSHARP, outperforming alternative methods by a large margin. SCOPE: Real-Time Natural Language Camera Agent at the Edge

Deploying language-driven agents in robotics requires evaluations that reflect real-world task demands: natural-language instructions with reproducible outcomes. Such agents must connect language models to callable perception and control tools, and be assessed using deployment-critical metrics including latency, accuracy, and error modes. We present SCOPE (Simulation and Camera Operations for Perception and Evaluation), a modular agent for natural-language, open-vocabulary pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera control and visual scene understanding, designed explicitly for edge deployment. SCOPE operates both in a Blender-based simulation environment and on a physical PTZ camera, executing all perception, planning, and control locally at the deployment site using edge-accessible compute. We release a 536-task benchmark spanning QA, single- and multi-step commands, counting, spatial reasoning, descriptions, and optical character recognition in a Blender-based simulation environment that exposes realistic PTZ control affordances. Execution traces are combined with an LM-as-Judge to evaluate latency, accuracy, and error modes. We evaluate 19 planner-perception model combinations pairing Qwen3 small language models (SLMs) with Moondream and Qwen vision-language models (VLMs). Stronger SLMs substantially reduce hallucinations and improve tool routing, leading to more reliable closed-loop behavior. Once a sufficiently capable SLM is used, perception becomes the dominant performance bottleneck. Mixture-of-Experts models on both the planning and perception side consistently match or exceed dense alternatives at latencies and memory footprints comparable to much smaller networks. Quantization provides additional efficiency gains with minimal accuracy degradation, identifying a practical, sim-to-real validated design point for real-time, edge-feasible language-driven PTZ control.

SAVMap: Structure-Aided Visual Mapping of Large-Scale 2.5D Manhattan Wireframes from Panoramic Video

Precise 3D representations of industrial environments enable tasks such as robot localization and digital twin generation. We propose SAVMap, a method for generating a semantic wireframe map of warehouse shelf and light structures using only a panoramic video camera as the sensor input. Sequences of rectified images with shelf and ceiling-facing views are extracted from a panoramic video captured along the warehouse aisles. Using a semantic segmentation network front end, a set of sparse, semantic structure feature points (e.g., corners of shelf structures, centers of lights) are extracted from each image and tracked across the sequences. By accounting for real-world geometric relationships among the points such as Manhattan grids, a constrained structure-from-motion algorithm yields the 3D points that form a wireframe map. We demonstrate the scalability and accuracy of our proposal in a warehouse with 46 shelving rows, each with faces spanning 55,m by 7,m. From an hour of panoramic video content, we create wireframe maps for over 5000 shelf elements across the rows, achieving an aggregate mean absolute error of 4.8,cm with respect to ground-truth.

Graph Instance Landscapes: When Structural Similarity Does (Not) Reflect Shortest-Path Performance

Benchmarking shortest-path algorithms is commonly based on aggregate performance over heterogeneous graph sets, which limits insight into how different search paradigms react to instance structure. We adopt an instance-landscape view of graph benchmarking by embedding graphs into a low-cost structural feature space and clustering them into regions of similar structure. Three benchmark suites are studied: weighted Erdős--Rényi graphs, random geometric (wireless) graphs, and real-world road networks. We evaluate four representative shortest-path solvers spanning uninformed exact search (Dijkstra), bidirectional exact search (bidirectional Dijkstra), heuristic-guided exact search (A∗^{*}), and deque-based strategies (DEQ). Clustering robustness is analyzed under multiple feature-selection schemes, and runtime distributions are compared across landscape regions using non-parametric tests. While generator parameters induce stable structural regions, we find that feature-space similarity does not necessarily imply performance similarity: significant runtime shifts are frequently observed even within the same landscape region. A merged-suite analysis further shows that different benchmark families occupy largely disjoint regions. These results highlight both the potential and the limits of structural landscapes for the structure-aware benchmarking of shortest-path algorithms.

MARTIAN: A Rendering Framework for Aerial Mars Imagery from HiRISE Orbital Data

Aerial navigation on Mars requires vision-based pipelines that are robust to the diverse illumination conditions and terrain morphology of the Martian surface. A key bottleneck for training and evaluating such methods is the scarcity of large-scale, annotated aerial datasets. We present MARTIAN, an open-source Blender-based rendering framework that leverages real HiRISE orbital map products to synthesize realistic aerial views of the Martian terrain under controllable lighting conditions and at varying altitudes. MARTIAN generates observations with accurate pose annotations, directly addressing the scarcity of training data for vision-based navigation on Mars. The framework has been validated through its deployment in concurrent work on map-based localization systems for Ingenuity and future Mars rotorcraft, where synthetically trained deep image matchers were successfully evaluated on real Mars imagery. Rotation-Invariant Spherical Watermarking via Third-Order SO(3) Representation Coupling

Reliable watermarking of panoramic imagery is fundamentally challenged by arbitrary 3D rotations. As panoramas are defined on the sphere, they naturally transform under the action of SO(3)SO(3), rendering conventional planar representations and augmentation-based robustness strategies inadequate and devoid of theoretical guarantees. To address this, we formulate panoramas as spherical signals and leverage SO(3)SO(3) representation theory to derive provably rotation-invariant descriptors. While spherical harmonic coefficients transform equivariantly under rotations, the natural invariant constructions are typically limited to zeroth-order statistics which eliminate directional information and severely constrain embedding capacity. In this work, we introduce a principled third-order invariant construction by coupling higher-order SO(3)SO(3) irreducible representations via tensor products and projecting onto the trivial representation. This yields a spherical invariant bispectrum that preserves phase information while remaining strictly rotation-invariant. Leveraging this property, we embed watermarks into higher-order spherical harmonic coefficients and recover them from invariant bispectral scalars, enabling reliable extraction under arbitrary 3D rotations. We provide a theoretical proof of SO(3)SO(3) invariance for it and demonstrate experimentally its near-perfect robustness to continuous rotations while maintaining high visual fidelity.

Underwater360: Reconstructing Underwater Scenes from Panoramic Images with Omnidirectional Gaussian Splatting

Underwater scene reconstruction is essential for immersive exploration of aquatic environments, yet remains challenging due to complex participating-media effects such as absorption and scattering, as well as the limited field of view (FoV) of conventional cameras. Although combining panoramic imaging with 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) offers a promising direction for photorealistic underwater rendering, traditional 3DGS struggles with both spherical projection distortion and underwater medium degradation. In this paper, we propose \textbf{Underwater360}, a physics-informed omnidirectional 3DGS framework for underwater panoramic scene reconstruction. First, we introduce an Omnidirectional Gaussian Splatting module that performs ray casting directly in spherical camera space instead of relying on 2D projection approximations, thereby reducing geometric distortions under 360∘^\circ FoV. Second, we design a physics-based appearance-medium modeling architecture with pose-conditioned appearance embeddings to explicitly decouple intrinsic scene radiance from depth-dependent backscatter and attenuation, enabling physically grounded scene appearance restoration. Finally, we establish a new panoramic underwater benchmark dataset containing both synthetic and real-world scenes. Extensive experiments demonstrate that Underwater360 achieves superior performance in underwater novel view synthesis and scene appearance restoration, delivering improved rendering quality and cross-view consistency in complex underwater environments. Unified Panoramic Geometry Estimation via Multi-View Foundation Models

Geometry estimation from perspective images has greatly advanced, maturing to the point where off-the-shelf foundation models are able to reconstruct 3D scene structure not only from multi-view imagery, but even from a single view. A natural extension is 3D reconstruction from panoramas, with the exciting prospect of recovering a full 360-degree scene from a single panoramic image. In this work, we introduce PaGeR (Panoramic Geometry Reconstruction), a framework to lift powerful 3D foundation models designed for perspective imagery to the panorama domain. Our strategy is to start from a pre-trained transformer for 3D reconstruction and turn it into a unified high-performance model that predicts scale-invariant depth, metric depth, surface normals, and sky masks from both perspective and omnidirectional images, in a single forward pass. By keeping architectural changes to a minimum and mixing perspective and panoramic images during training, PaGeR retains the rich 3D prior of the underlying foundation model while learning to also estimate geometrically consistent 360-degree scenes from single panoramas. We extensively test our method in both indoor and outdoor environments and find that it delivers state-of-the-art performance and excellent zero-shot performance across a wide range of scenes. Pantheon360: Taming Digital Twin Generation via 3D-Aware 360° Video Diffusion

Generating complete digital twins from videos requires precise camera control, global scene coverage, and strict spatial-temporal consistency constraints that remain challenging for perspective video generators due to their limited field of view (FoV). Their narrow FoV forces long or multi-view trajectories, amplifying cross-view inconsistency and temporal drift. We argue that 360° video generation offers a natural solution: panoramic coverage simplifies trajectory design and provides a strong global context for maintaining coherence. We introduce Pantheon360: Taming Digital Twin Generation via 3D-Aware 360° Video Diffusion, a controllable 360° video generation framework that synthesizes high-fidelity videos from sparse 360° inputs. The key idea is an explicit 3D Cache, reconstructed from the input, which serves as a geometric scaffold for any user-defined camera path. This allows the diffusion model to focus on photorealistic texture refinement while the 3D Cache enforces global geometric consistency. Experiments show that Pantheon360 achieves superior visual quality and unmatched geometric coherence, enabling reliable and flexible 360° scene generation for downstream simulation and digital-twin applications.

DepthAgent: Towards Better Universal Depth Estimation via Sample-wise Expert Selection

Monocular metric depth estimation has achieved strong progress with large-scale training and universal-camera modeling, yet robust deployment across diverse camera settings, such as perspective, fisheye, and panoramic images, remains challenging. Existing methods typically rely on a single depth estimator, overlooking that different models encode different camera assumptions and perform best under different input domains. In this paper, we show that depth experts exhibit strong sample-wise complementarity: model preference is highly correlated with camera geometry, and multi-model fusion brings the largest gains on difficult samples where individual experts are unreliable. Motivated by these observations, we propose \textbf{\ours}, a vision-language agent for adaptive monocular depth estimation. DepthAgent treats existing depth models as frozen tools and learns to analyze scene and camera cues, invoke suitable experts through multi-turn tool utilization, and select or fuse their predictions for each input. To optimize such discrete decision-making toward dense geometric quality, we design a multi-reward reinforcement fine-tuning scheme that jointly encourages valid tool execution, camera/scene analysis, expert-selection quality, and inference efficiency. Extensive experiments across perspective, fisheye, and panoramic benchmarks show that \ours consistently outperforms individual experts, fixed model fusion, and different selection strategies, with strong improvements on challenging samples, highlighting the critical role of expert selection and fusion. The code and model will be released upon publication.

SphericalDreamer: Generating Navigable Immersive 3D Worlds with Panorama Fusion

The generation of immersive and navigable 3D environments is increasingly prevalent with the growing adoption of virtual reality and 3D content. However, recent methods face a fundamental limitation: they cannot produce 3D worlds that simultaneously (i) are navigable over long-range spatial extents and (ii) cover the complete omnidirectional field of view (360∘360^\circ horizontally and 180∘180^\circ vertically). To address this challenge, we introduce SphericalDreamer, a method for generating fully immersive and long-range 3D outdoor environments from textual prompts. Our approach is built on the generation of multiple panoramic images, which are subsequently lifted into 3D and fused together while maintaining visual and geometric consistency. SphericalDreamer produces highly detailed, fully immersive 3D environments, while substantially improving scale and navigability compared to prior approaches.

Feed-Forward Gaussian Splatting from Sparse Aerial Views

Reconstructing large-scale urban scenes from sparse aerial views is a crucial yet challenging task. Due to biased top-down and shallow-oblique camera poses, sparse aerial captures exhibit strong evidence imbalance: roofs and open regions are repeatedly observed, while facades, distant buildings, and occluded structures receive little multi-view support. Existing feed-forward 3D Gaussian Splatting methods directly regress a deterministic representation from sparse inputs, but this often leads to ghosting, melted facades, and stretched textures. Recent pseudo-view and video-based generative reconstruction methods use additional supervision or generative priors. However, they often lack a clear separation between observed geometry and prior-driven content, which can lead to plausible but inconsistent structures. We propose AnyCity, an observation-grounded generative reconstruction framework for sparse aerial urban scenes. AnyCity first predicts an observation-supported geometry latent to anchor reliable structures, and then uses scaffold-conditioned aerial completion tokens to predict a gated residual update for weakly constrained content before Gaussian decoding. During training, dense-to-sparse distillation transfers structural cues from dense-view reconstruction, while an aerial-adapted video diffusion prior provides fine-grained urban appearance cues through gated token conditioning. Observation-preserving objectives keep the refined representation consistent with input-supported geometry. At inference time, AnyCity reconstructs the final 3D Gaussian scene from sparse aerial views in a single feed-forward pass, achieving coherent urban novel-view synthesis with second-level inference. Experiments on synthetic, aerial-domain, UAV-textured, and real-world scenes show consistent improvements over feed-forward baselines.

P2DNav: Panorama-to-Downview Reasoning for Zero-shot Vision-and-Language Navigation

Vision-and-language navigation (VLN) requires an embodied agent to ground natural-language instructions into executable navigation actions in unseen environments. Existing zero-shot methods typically rely on additional waypoint prediction modules, which often entangle high-level directional reasoning with fine-grained local grounding, leading to error-prone and unstable decisions. In this paper, we propose P2DNav, a hierarchical framework for zero-shot vision-and-language navigation. P2DNav consists of three core components: Panorama-to-Downview (P2D), Sliding-Window Dialogue Memory (SDM), and Reflective Reorientation Mechanism (RRM). P2D explicitly decomposes navigation decision-making into two stages: panoramic direction selection and downview local grounding. It first selects the instruction-relevant direction from a 360° panorama, and then predicts a pixel-level target point from the downview RGB observation in that direction. In addition, SDM organizes navigation history as a multi-turn dialogue context and maintains recent visual observations within a sliding window to support long-horizon navigation. RRM further enables reflective reorientation by assessing the reliability of local grounding based on the downview observation and returning to panoramic direction selection when necessary. Experiments on the R2R-CE benchmark show that P2DNav achieves strong performance among zero-shot methods. In particular, compared with the state-of-the-art (SOTA) zero-shot waypoint-based and waypoint-free methods, P2DNav achieves SR gains of 146.6% and 58.9%, respectively, demonstrating the effectiveness of P2D, SDM, and RRM for zero-shot VLN. Code will be released for public use.

PanoWorld: A Generative Spatial World Model for Consistent Whole-House Panorama Synthesis

Generating a consistent whole-house VR tour from a floorplan and style reference requires both photorealistic panoramas and cross-view spatial coherence. Pure 2D generators produce appealing single panoramas but re-imagine geometry and materials when the viewpoint changes, whereas monolithic 3D generation becomes expensive and loses fine texture at multi-room scale. We introduce PanoWorld, a generative spatial world model that treats whole-house synthesis as autoregressive generation of node-based 360-degree panoramas, matching the discrete navigation used by real VR tour products. PanoWorld uses a floorplan-derived 3D shell as a global geometric proxy and a dynamic 3D Gaussian Splatting cache as renderable spatial memory. A feed-forward panoramic LRM designed for metric-scale multi-room 360-degree inputs lifts generated panoramas into local 3DGS updates, while Room-aware Group Attention suppresses cross-room feature interference. A topology-aware progressive caching strategy fuses these local updates without repeatedly reconstructing the full history. By decoupling shell-based geometry guidance from cache-rendered visual memory, PanoWorld preserves high-frequency 2D synthesis quality while improving cross-node layout and material consistency. PanoWorld: Geometry-Consistent Panoramic Video World Modeling

We present PanoWorld, a panoramic video world model that generates geometry-consistent 360°\degree video from a single image and a caption. Existing panoramic video methods optimize primarily for visual realism and do not explicitly constrain the underlying 3D scene state, producing outputs that appear plausible yet exhibit inconsistent depth, broken correspondences, and implausible motion across the spherical surface. We address this gap by framing panoramic video generation as a geometry- and dynamics-consistent latent state modeling problem rather than pure visual synthesis. Building on a pre-trained perspective video world model, we introduce two lightweight regularizers: a depth consistency loss against pseudo ground-truth panoramic depth, and a trajectory consistency loss that supervises the 3D world-frame positions of tracked points across time. We further apply spherical-geometry-aware adaptation to the conditioning and positional encoding. We additionally introduce PanoGeo, a unified geometry-aware panoramic video dataset with consistent depth, trajectory, and prompt annotations across diverse real and synthetic sources, used for both training and stratified evaluation. Experiments show that PanoWorld improves geometric consistency over prior panoramic generation methods while maintaining competitive visual realism, establishing that panoramic video generation must be treated as a geometric modeling problem to support the holistic spatial understanding requirements of embodied AI applications. PanoPlane: Plane-Aware Panoramic Completion for Sparse-View Indoor 3D Gaussian Splatting

We present PanoPlane, an approach for high-fidelity sparse-view indoor novel view synthesis that reconstructs closed room geometry via panoramic scene completion. Unlike perspective-based methods that generate training views from limited fields of view, PanoPlane leverages 360∘360^{\circ} panoramic completion to condition the generative process on the full spatial layout. We propose Layout Anchored Attention Steering, a training-free mechanism that steers attention within the diffusion model's internal representation toward scene's detected planar surfaces at inference time. By directing each unobserved region's attention toward geometrically consistent observed content, our method replaces unconstrained hallucination with grounded surface extrapolation. The resulting panoramic completions provide supervision for 3D Gaussian Splatting, enabling accurate novel-view synthesis across unobserved regions from as few as three input views. Experiments on Replica, ScanNet++, and Matterport3D demonstrate state-of-the-art novel view synthesis quality across 3, 6, and 9 input views, achieving up to +17.8%+17.8\% improvement in PSNR over the current state-of-the-art baseline without any training or fine-tuning of the diffusion model.

PanoWorld: Towards Spatial Supersensing in 360∘^\circ Panorama World

Multimodal large laboratory models (MLLMs) still struggle with spatial understanding under the dominant perspective-image paradigm, which inherits the narrow field of view of human-like perception. For navigation, robotic search, and 3D scene understanding, 360-degree panoramic sensing offers a form of supersensing by capturing the entire surrounding environment at once. However, existing MLLM pipelines typically decompose panoramas into multiple perspective views, leaving the spherical structure of equirectangular projection (ERP) largely implicit. In this paper, we study pano-native understanding, which requires an MLLM to reason over an ERP panorama as a continuous, observer-centered space. To this end, we first define the key abilities for pano-native understanding, including semantic anchoring, spherical localization, reference-frame transformation, and depth-aware 3D spatial reasoning. We then build a large-scale metadata construction pipeline that converts mixed-source ERP panoramas into geometry-aware, language-grounded, and depth-aware supervision, and instantiate these signals as capability-aligned instruction tuning data. On the model side, we introduce PanoWorld with Spherical Spatial Cross-Attention, which injects spherical geometry into the visual stream. We further construct PanoSpace-Bench, a diagnostic benchmark for evaluating ERP-native spatial reasoning. Experiments show that PanoWorld substantially outperforms both proprietary and open-source baselines on PanoSpace-Bench, H* Bench, and R2R-CE Val-Unseen benchmarks. These results demonstrate that robust panoramic reasoning requires dedicated pano-native supervision and geometry-aware model adaptation. All source code and proposed data will be publicly released.

Beyond Localization: A Comprehensive Diagnosis of Perspective-Conditioned Spatial Reasoning in MLLMs from Omnidirectional Images

Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) show strong visual perception, yet remain limited in reasoning about space under changing viewpoints. We study this challenge as Perspective-Conditioned Spatial Reasoning (PCSR) in 360 degree omnidirectional images, where broad scene coverage reduces ambiguity from partial observations without eliminating the need for viewpoint-dependent inference. To assess this capability, we introduce PCSR-Bench, a diagnostic benchmark of 84,373 QA pairs from 2,600 omnidirectional images across 26 indoor environments, organized into eight tasks under three cognitive groups--- Perception, Spatial, and advanced PCSR. We evaluate 14 representative MLLMs and observe a substantial perception--reasoning gap: accuracy reaches 57.59% on Limited Field-of-View Reasoning (T7) but drops to 13.49%, 7.13%, and 0.64% on Relative Direction (T2), Egocentric Rotation (T4), and open-ended Compositional Directional Chains (T3), respectively. To probe the plasticity of this gap, we conduct an RL-based diagnostic study on a 7B-scale model. Reward shaping improves a matched 7B baseline from 31.10% to 60.06% under a controlled setting, suggesting that PCSR exhibits partial plasticity rather than being fully immutable. Still, these gains are task-selective, sensitive to reward design, and partially dependent on the evaluation protocol. These results position PCSR as a key bottleneck in current MLLMs and highlight meaningful yet bounded room for recovery under targeted optimization. Details and access are available at https://github.com/Caleb-ychen/PCSR-Benchmark.

SeasonScapes: Learning Large-scale Re-lightable 3D Landscapes with Seasonal Variation from Sparse Webcams

We introduce SeasonScapes framework and a the SeasonScapes dataset: Swiss Sparse-view Mountain Scenes with Seasonal Changes that covers over 50 km x 60 km, composed of more than 85,000 webcam images captured from 32 different locations across 13 timestamps throughout a full year. By projecting these timestamp-specific images onto a 3D mesh, we construct seasonal 3D landscapes that reflect natural appearance changes over time. To address occlusions and missing data, we leverage conditional diffusion models for image-guided inpainting directly on the mesh. The resulting completed meshes can be further relighted using standard physically-based renderer.

Subjective Portrait Region Cropping in Landscape Videos with Temporal Annotation Smoothing

With the rise of mobile video consumption on diverse handheld display resolutions and orientation modes, altering videos to aspect ratios poses challenges. Static cropping and border padding often compromises visual quality, while warping may distort a video's intended meaning. Here we advocate for a more effective approach: cropping significant regions within video frames in a temporal manner, while minimizing distortion and preserving essential content. One barrier to solving this problem is the lack of sufficiently large-scale database devoted to informing these tasks. Towards filling this gap, we introduce the LIVE-YouTube Video Cropping (LIVE-YT VC) database, featuring 1800 videos, annotated by 90 human subjects. Using videos sourced from the YouTube-UGC and LSVQ Databases, this new resource is the largest publicly-available subjective video portrait region cropping database. We also introduce a post-processed version of the database, called LIVE-YT VC++, whereby a novel intra-frame temporal filter was deployed to smooth subjective annotations within each video. We demonstrate the usefulness of this new data resource using the SmartVidCrop algorithm and state-of-the-art video grounding models, in hopes of establishing our subjective dataset as a benchmark for future research. Our contributions offer a resource for advancing video aspect ratio transformation models towards ensuring that reshaped mobile-friendly video content retains its quality and meaning. Since our labels bear resemblances to video saliency annotations, we also conducted an additional analysis to explore the similarity between our labels and video saliency predictions. Finally, we repurposed state-of-the-art video grounding models for aspect ratio change tasks, and fine-tuned them on our dataset. As a service to the research community, we plan to open source the project.

Viewport-Unaware Blind Omnidirectional Image Quality Assessment: A Unified and Generalized Approach

Blind omnidirectional image quality assessment (BOIQA) presents a great challenge to the visual quality assessment community, due to different storage formats and diverse user viewing behaviors. The main paradigm of BOIQA models includes two steps, ie, viewport generation, and quality prediction, which brings an extra computational burden and is hard to generalize to other visual contents (eg, 2D planar image). Thus, in this paper, we make an attempt to solve these issues. First, we experimentally find that BOIQA can be formulated as a blind (2D planar) image quality assessment (BIQA) problem, ie, the first step - viewport generation - is no longer needed, which narrows the natural gap between BOIQA and BIQA. Then, we present a new BOIQA approach, which has three merits: ie, viewport-unaware - it accepts an omnidirectional image in the widely used equirectangular projection format as input without any transformation; unified - it can also be applied to BIQA; and generalized - it shows better generalizability against other competitors. Finally, we validate its promise by held-out test, cross-database validation, and the well-established gMAD competition.

Mapping License Plate Recoverability Under Extreme Viewing Angles for Opportunistic Urban Sensing

Urban environments contain many imaging sensors built for specific purposes, including ATM, body-worn, CCTV, and dashboard cameras. Under the opportunistic sensing paradigm, these sensors can be repurposed for secondary inference tasks such as license plate recognition. Yet objects of interest in such im-agery are often noisy, low-resolution, and captured from extreme viewpoints. Recent advances in AI-based restoration can recover useful information even from severely degraded images. A central challenge is de-termining which distortion parameters allow reliable recovery and which lead to inference failure. This paper introduces recoverability maps, a task-agnostic method for quantifying this boundary. The method combines a dense synthetic sweep of degradation parameters with two summary measures: boundary ar-ea-under-curve, which estimates the recoverable fraction of the parameter space, and a reliability score, which captures the frequency and severity of failures within that region. We demonstrate the method on li-cense plate recognition from highly angled views under realistic camera artifacts. Several restoration archi-tectures are trained and evaluated, including U-Net, Restormer, Pix2Pix, and SR3 diffusion. The best model recovers about 93% of the parameter space. Similar results across models suggest that sensing geometry, ra-ther than architecture, sets the limit of recovery.

Thinking Like a Clinician: A Cognitive AI Agent for Clinical Diagnosis via Panoramic Profiling and Adversarial Debate

The application of large language models (LLMs) in clinical decision support faces significant challenges of "tunnel vision" and diagnostic hallucinations present in their processing unstructured electronic health records (EHRs). To address these challenges, we propose a novel chain-based clinical reasoning framework, called DxChain, which transforms the diagnostic workflow into an iterative process by mirroring a clinician's cognitive trajectory that consists of "Memory Anchoring", "Navigation" and "Verification" phases. DxChain introduces three key methodological innovations to elicit the potential of LLM: (i) a Profile-Then-Plan paradigm to mitigate cold-start hallucinations by establishing a panoramic patient baseline, (ii) a Medical Tree-of-Thoughts (Med-ToT) algorithm for strategic look ahead planning and resource aware navigation, and (iii) a Dialectical Diagnostic Verification procedure utilizing "Angel-Devil" adversarial debates to resolve complex evidence conflicts. Evaluated on two real world benchmarks, MIMIC-IV-Ext Cardiac Disease and MIMIC-IV-Ext CDM, DxChain achieves state-of-the-art performances in both diagnostic accuracy and logical consistency, offering a modular and reliable architecture for next-generation clinical AI. The code is at https://anonymous.4open.science/r/Dx-Chain.

Adverse-to-the-eXtreme Panoptic Segmentation: URVIS 2026 Study and Benchmark

This paper presents the report of the URVIS 2026 challenge on adverse-to-extreme panoptic segmentation. As the first challenge of its kind, it attracted 17 registered participants and 47 submissions, with 4 teams reaching the final phase. The challenge is based on the MUSES dataset, a multi-sensor benchmark for panoptic segmentation in adverse-to-extreme weather, including RGB frame camera, LiDAR, radar, and event camera data. Weighted Panoptic Quality (wPQ) is designed and adopted as the official ranking metric for fair evaluation across weather conditions. In this report, we summarise the challenge setting and benchmark results, analyse the performance of the submitted methods, and discuss current progress and remaining challenges for robust multimodal panoptic segmentation.
